The Irish actor Milo O'Shea, whose many roles on stage and screen included a friar in Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet, an evil scientist in Barbarella and a Supreme Court justice on The West Wing, has died in New York City. He was 86. Ireland's arts minister, Jimmy Deenihan, said in a statement announcing O'Shea's death on Tuesday that the Dublin-born actor would be remembered for "groundbreaking" roles, including a performance as Leopold Bloom in the 1967 film adaptation of Ulysses. O'Shea also acted on Broadway, playing a gay hairdresser in 1968's Staircase. He was nominated for Tony Awards twice. The public knew O'Shea best as a character actor. His bushy eyebrows and white hair made him a favorite of casting directors looking for priests. He played a drunken one on the TV show Cheers, a pedophilic one in the 1997 film The Butcher Boy, a charming one in the 1981 Broadway play Mass Appeal, as well as the tragedy-enabling Friar Laurence in Romeo and Juliet. He was a judge in the Paul Newman film The Verdict. His loony turn as the pleasure-obsessed scientist Durand Durand in the 1968 science fiction romp Barbarella inspired a British rock group to name its band after his character. Duran Duran also put him in a concert video. O'Shea moved to the USA in the mid-1970s and was a longtime resident of New York.

Pastor Rick Warren's Son, 27, Commits Suicide
The son of popular evangelical Pastor Rick Warren has committed suicide at his Southern California home, Warren's church said in a statement Saturday. Matthew Warren, 27, struggled with mental illness, deep depression and suicidal thoughts throughout his life. Saddleback Valley Community Church spokeswoman Kristin Cole said he died Friday night. "Despite the best health care available, this was an illness that was never fully controlled and the emotional pain resulted in his decision to take his life," the church statement said. Rick Warren, the author of the multimillion-selling book The Purpose Driven Life, said in an email to church staff that he and his wife had enjoyed a fun Friday evening with their son. But their son then returned home to take his life in "a momentary wave of despair." Over the years, Matthew Warren had been treated by America's best doctors, had received counseling and medication and been the recipient of numerous prayers from others, his father said. The elder Warren founded Saddleback Church in 1980, according to his biography on the church website, and over the years watched it grow to 20,000 members. He and his wife, Kay, began by holding Bible studies for people who weren't regular churchgoers. The church says it now offers more than 200 community ministries and support groups for parents, families, children, couples, prisoners, addicts, and people living with HIV, depression and other illnesses. In 2008, the church sponsored a presidential forum with Barack Obama and John McCain. Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney were invited to a similar forum last fall, but Warren canceled it several days beforehand, saying the campaign had become too uncivil. Warren was named the top newsmaker of the year for 2009 by the Religion Newswriters Association. He gained attention that year with his invocation at Obama's inauguration, as well as with comments he made in the aftermath of California's Proposition 8, which overturned gay marriage.

Actor Wesley Snipes released from prison
Actor Wesley Snipes has been released from a federal prison where he was serving a three-year sentence after being convicted on tax charges in February 2010. The release to a supervised residential location in New York occurred Tuesday, the Federal Bureau of Prisons told CNN. Snipes, 50, who starred in the "Blade" action movies and "White Men Can't Jump," had been serving time at a federal prison in Pennsylvania. A jury convicted him of willfully failing to file tax returns for 1999, 2000 and 2001. Snipes was acquitted of felony tax fraud and conspiracy charges. In June 2011, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal of his sentence, which he had argued was too harsh for a misdemeanor conviction.

Evan Sailor says the alleged victim put Jameson under citizen’s arrest until police arrived at the home on the upscale Balboa Peninsula on Saturday night. Shakira's Ex-Boyfriend Files $100 Million Lawsuit Against Her, But She's Not Budging

If she has anything to do with it, Shakira is not giving her ex a penny of her money. "The Voice" coach is fighting back after her ex-boyfriend Antonio de la Rua filed a lawsuit against her in NYC last year, claiming he was her manager during their 11-year courtship. de la Rua says he scored lucrative music deals for her and is owed a big chunk -- $100 million to be exact -- of her earnings. But in legal documents filed by Shakira, the latin pop star says she was already an international success when she met de la Rua in 2000 and explains that even though he helped her with some decisions, he was never her manager. The new mom, who just welcomed her son Milan with her soccer player beau Gerard Pique, claims that the only thing she and de la Rua ever signed was a 2006 agreement in her native Colombia, in which they decided to keep their own assets separate if they split. De la Rua is the son of former Argentine President Fernando de la Rua. He dated Shakira for more than a decade before ending their relationship in Jan. 2011.

'Evil Dead' brings life to industry with $26 million debut
The 2013 box office has been stuck in a bit of a rut. For nine of the past ten weekends, overall grosses have lagged behind 2012 totals, and high-profile releases like Jack the Giant Slayer, The Host, Beautiful Creatures, and A Good Day to Die Hard have badly misfired. That’s why industry folks are likely breathing a sigh of relief this morning looking at the box office chart. Not only did Evil Dead and Jurassic Park 3D both open successfully, but six separate films earned over $10 million during the Friday-to-Sunday period. It’s an encouraging sign of industry health as Hollywood gears up for the lucrative summer movie season. Evil Dead, a new remake of Sam Raimi’s 1981 cult classic, led the way with $24.2 million. Fox’s $135 million animated hit The Croods continued to benefit from being the only family release in theaters right now.
1. Evil Dead – $24.2 million
2. The Croods – $21.1 million
2. G.I. Joe: Retaliation – $21 million
4. Jurassic Park– $18.2 million
5. Olympus Has Fallen – $10 million
6. Tyler Perry’s Temptation – $10 million

Zsa Zsa Gabor, 96, can stay in her L.A. mansion for rest of life

A Los Angeles judge ruled that Gabor's ninth husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, could sell the four-bedroom, five bathroom mansion in a deferred transaction. Under the deal, the buyer will allow Gabor, 96, and von Anhalt to remain in the home for at least three years, or until the actress dies, and pay them $325,000 (211,864.41 pounds) a year. Gabor, the Hungarian-born star of 1950s films "Moulin Rouge" and "Lili", has been in and out of hospital since breaking her hip in 2010 and having her leg amputated in January 2011. Von Anhalt put the house up for sale at an asking price of $15 million (9 million pounds) two years ago, citing financial difficulties and the costs of medical bills for Gabor. Gabor's hillside home is in one of the most exclusive areas of Los Angeles. The grounds were used to film scenes for Ben Affleck's Oscar-winning movie "Argo" as well as an upcoming HBO film about the life of late entertainer Liberace. Blanchette said Gabor remained bedridden but was in better health recently than previous years and had enjoyed a 96th birthday party at the house in February attended by more than 100 friends.
Kim Kardashian dared to bare her curvier-than-ever figure when she shared a photo of herself standing in front of a mirror with her top rolled up to expose her nearly six-months-pregnant belly. Wearing skintight black leggings and a thin white T-shirt, the "Kourtney & Kim Take Miami" star, 32, proudly showed off her adorably round stomach. She captioned the self-taken shot "Baby love."

Jonathan Knight exits New Kids on the Block show mid-concert
New Kids on the Block singer Jonathan Knight left fans confused and concerned Thursday when he walked off stage in the middle of a concert in New York. According to reports, the five-member boy band was performing a mix of their old hits from the late '80s and early '90s, along with music from their new album, "10," when onlookers noticed that Knight seemed out of place. HollywoodLife.com's Emily Longeretta was in the front row, and wrote on the celebrity website that Knight "seemed out of it. While the men started their choreographed dances, Jonathan stood uncomfortably in the background -- actually just standing and texting on his phone during the performance." Billboard.com also reported that Knight seemed "visibly out of sync." He didn't join in when NKOTB got fans' arms waving with the memorable 1989 single "Hangin' Tough," and kept to the back of the stage as the other members worked to entertain the crowd. The other members -- Knight's brother, Jordan, plus Danny Wood, Joey McIntyre and Donnie Wahlberg -- put their arms around him for support. Yet when Jordan said his brother was going to sing "Survive You" from "10," Knight made an attempt at the song, and then walked off the stage. The rest of NKOTB went on singing as fans chanted for Knight's return, but he never came back. The singer has been vocal in the past about his struggle with anxiety, prompting speculation that that's what he was facing Thursday night. On his Twitter account, Knight appeared to give fans a simple apology, tweeting "I'm sorry......" on Thursday evening. Earlier that day, he posted the hashtag "I feel naked," perhaps indicating his state. NKOTB, one of the heartthrob boy bands of the late '80s and early '90s, came off a lengthy hiatus in 2008, and have issued two albums since then. They're also slated to go on a tour this summer with 98 Degrees and Boyz II Men.

Dr. Phil: I'm Not Paying for Jodi Arias's Family During Her Trial
Dr. Phil McGraw wants to make one thing perfectly clear – he's not paying for Jodi Arias's family's housing during her trial. "Rumors that we're paying for Arias family house etc... are absolutely untrue," he Tweeted on Saturday night. "I've never met the Arias family, and neither I, nor my ... production company – has paid or promised them anything. Robin and I are praying for the Alexander family," the message reads in full.  The accusations stem from a Tweet by Chris Stark, a "former BB Blogger & Casey Anthony Blogger" and "Paid Researcher."  "Dr Phil Production Company is paying for #JodiArias Family living expenses. Hotel and food TRAVEL for the last 94 days in Arizona," Stark wrote on Saturday. "Excuse: paying MOM Sandra for her daily NOTES she writes while the trial testimony takes place. Dr Phil paid license fee for photos and video of Arias Family Dr. Phil producer visited Jodi 2 times in jail so far per jailhouse visitor log," Stark continued. While Sandra Arias could not be reached for comment, Bill Arias, Jodi's father, denied that the family has worked out any sort of arrangement with McGraw or taken anything from him. "He asked and we refused. We do not want to deal with him," Bill says, explaining that he never actually talked with Dr. Phil. A producer approached the family, gave them a card, and said the show would like to do an interview. Arias, 32, is being tried for the murder of Travis Alexander, whom she is accused of stabbing 27 times and shooting in the head in 2008.

TV NEWS
Bravo is actually doing what many viewers wish they could do: shutting down Kathy Griffin. On Friday, the actress/comedienne revealed the news during her stand up show in Cincinnati. "Kathy" averaged 417,167 viewers and 231,583 viewers in the ad-coveted 18-49 demo. Matheson will guest-star in the CBS crime drama’s Season 13 finale (airing May 15) as Mr. Tate, a handsome, sophisticated and highly intelligent Ph.D. and M.D. who emerges as a suspect in a series of Dante’s Inferno-themed killings.

Three ladies are in and three are possibly on their way out. That's the scenario on the upcoming sixth season of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of New York." Déjà vu, anyone? With upfront presentations for advertisers this week, Bravo caused a stir when only three of the "RHONY" women appeared on the red carpet: Ramona Singer, Carole Radziwill and Heather Thomson. Bravo confirms that the three women have officially signed on for the upcoming season – reportedly set to begin filming in a few weeks. That leaves LuAnn DeLesseps, Sonja Morgan and Aviva Drescher in the lurch. The women aren't out – yet. Negotiations continue -- reportedly, the trio is wrangling for higher paychecks. Fans are well acquainted with DeLesseps as she has been with the series since its beginning. Morgan joined the franchise on Season 3 and Drescher came on last season.
