He later died at Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Besides the blood clot, which likely formed over the course of a long plane ride, the influential '90s rapper also suffered from heart disease and deep leg vein thrombosis, according to Craig Harvey, chief of the Los Angeles County department of coroner.

Bodolai also lists, "Things I Am Proud Of" -- listing family members, his time as an "SNL" staff writer and "writing the first draft of Wayne’s World with Mike Myers." Sinead O'Connor Ends Marriage – After 18 Days | Sinead O'ConnorSinead O'Connor announced she is ending her marriage to Barry Herridge, the "Nothing Compares 2 U" singer said Monday on her website. "Dear friends," O'Connor 45, writes, "I had for reasons u will all understand, wished to keep this private but have been told today it is to be leaked in the next few days despite my best efforts. So I must now leak it myself so as the record is straight." She blames pressures placed upon him by "certain people in his life" not to be with her based on press reports about her. "Within 3 hours of the ceremony being over the marriage was kyboshed by the behaviour of certain people in my husband's life. And also by a bit of a wild ride i took us on looking for a bit of a smoke of weed for me wedding night as I don't drink," she writes. "My husband was enormously wounded and very badly effected by that experience and also by the attitude of those close to him toward our marriage. It became apparent to me that if he were to stay with me he would be losing too much to bear." She also says, "He is a wonderful man. I love him very much. I'm sorry I'm not a more regular woman. I truly believe though it is painful to admit, we made a mistake rushing into getting married, for altruistic reasons, and weren't aware or prepared for the consequences on my husband's life and the lives of those close to him. He has been terribly unhappy and I have therefore ended the marriage. I think he is too nice to do so. And too nice to trap." O'Connor, who has four children from her previous relationships, wed music producer John Reynolds in 1989 and journalist Nicholas Sommerlad in 2001. This past April, she split from longtime friend and collaborator Steve Cooney.

SID hears that Michael Easton (aka OLTL‘s John McBain) is set to join GH as well. King, of course, previously played two Alcazar brothers, Luis and Lorenzo, on GH — both now dead — but it’s not clear if he would play yet another member of the international crime family or a brand-new character.

Adam Lambert & Boyfriend Sauli Koskinen Arrested in Gay Bar Brawl

Adam Lambert and his boyfriend, Finnish reality star Sauli Koskinen, were both jailed in Helsinki early Thursday morning after reportedly getting into a dispute that led to a physical altercation at a bar. Lambert, 29, a former American Idol runner-up, and Koskinen, 26, a winner of the Finnish version of Big Brother, were held for questioning as local police looked into four possible assault offenses. They were released Thursday afternoon. Koskinen then blogged about the incident, suggesting the pair had patched things up. "Fame is not easy. Celebrities are only human. Love is not easy either, but it is forever!" he wrote, adding that it was a private matter. The two were reportedly kicked out of a bar called Don't Tell Mama, but continued fighting on the street outside. Finnish beauty queen Sofia Ruusila, who was partying with them, was allegedly struck accidentally during the fracas. Later on Thursday, Lambert Tweeted about the incident in a playful message which seemed to indicate alcohol played a part – and that he had learned his lesson. "Jetlag+Vodka=blackout," he wrote. "Jail+guilt+press=lesson learned. Sauli+Adam+hangover burgers= laughing bout it." It is unclear whether either man would face any charges connected to the fight.

With American Horror Story‘s first season resting in peace, Ryan Murphy is turning his attention to the serial thriller’s second act. The show’s cocreator confirms that Season 2 will be “radically different” from Season 1. That means a new setting/locale and a (mostly) new cast. “The second season of the show will [feature] a brand new home or building to haunt,” Murphy said in a conference call with reporters on Thursday. ”It will also have a new overriding theme.” And in an unprecedented twist for an ongoing series, some current castmembers will return — but they’ll be playing new characters. (Murphy confirmed that current leads Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott will not be back, at least not as series regulars.) ”There will be familiar faces and some new faces,” said Murphy. “People that are coming back will be playing completely new characters… Getting to tell a different aspect of what an American horror story can be [every season] is fascinating.” Murphy added that he’s currently in talks with a few members of the Season 1 cast to return full time, but he declined to name names. An official announcement about the new ensemble and storyline will be made in February.

Floyd Mayweather pleads guilty to domestic violence and harassment, gets 90-day jail sentence

Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. received a 90-day jail sentence after pleading guilty to domestic violence and harassment charges in Las Vegas on Wednesday (Dec. 21). The WBC welterweight title holder must also complete 100 hours of community service and pay a $2,500 fine. Michael Douglas' Son Gets More Prison Time
A judge called the imprisoned son of actor Michael Douglas reckless and irresponsible as he nearly doubled his prison sentence Wednesday from five years to 9½ years for repeated drug offenses.  U.S. District Judge Richard Berman in Manhattan cited Cameron Douglas' "history of reckless behavior" as he imposed a new punishment that was more than double what prosecutors were seeking for Douglas' guilty plea to drug charges that arose from his successful efforts to smuggle drugs into prison. Berman added 4½ years to the five-year term he gave Douglas last year for his guilty plea in connection with his sales of methamphetamine in July 2009 from a high-end Manhattan hotel.  The judge said he had never had a case before in which a defendant "has so recklessly, wantonly, flagrantly and criminally acted in such a destructive and manipulative fashion as Cameron Douglas has." Berman reminded Douglas' lawyers that he had warned at the earlier sentencing that it was the defendant's last chance to turn around a life derailed by drugs and mental troubles stretching into his teenage years.  The judge also criticized the government for being too lenient on Douglas after he repeatedly violated prison rules by arranging to get drugs. The judge said the violations included four instances in which a lawyer smuggled anti-anxiety prescription drugs into prison for Douglas in her bra. The lawyer entered into a deferred prosecution agreement that enabled the charges against her to be dropped if she stayed out of trouble for six months. The 33-year-old Douglas asked the judge to give him another chance at treatment. "I cannot seem to find comfort within my own skin," he said. "I feel ashamed. I feel defeated. ... I know that I bear in my heart what it will take to overcome this plague." He asked Berman to give him "the room to deal with this situation medically." His lawyer also requested leniency for his client, saying that his efforts to get drugs in prison were not unusual for a drug addict who had not been rehabilitated.

Rams WR Pettis suspended four games

The NFL suspended St. Louis Rams wide receiver Austin Pettis for four games Wednesday for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy, the team announced. The rookie third-round pick out of Boise State will be suspended without pay for the final two games of this season and the first two of next season. The suspension can be appealed. Pettis is still allowed to participate in practices, offseason activities and preseason games."Austin's situation is unfortunate," said head coach Steve Spagnuolo in a statement. "Obviously, we are disappointed and will miss him during this suspension. But the NFL's policies are very clear and we respect the League's decision in this matter." Pettis, 23, did not play the first two games of the season, but has 27 receptions for 256 yards in the past 12 games as a reserve for the 2-12 Rams. He was a first-team All-WAC selection in his final two seasons at Boise State, finishing first in school history in receptions (229) and receiving touchdowns (39).

Deion Sanders' prenup may give wife Pilar a $10+ million mansion

Former NFL player Deion Sanders may end up wishing he wasn't living quite so large now that he and soon-to-be-ex wife Pilar have filed for divorce. a prevision of his prenup is that the bigger home "Prime Time" lives in, the bigger the house he has to buy Pilar should they split up. In a rather unusual provision of a prenuptial agreement, sources say Neon Deion agreed in the prenup that should they split, he would buy Pilar a house that is equal to half the value of whatever their current home is. Their current home is in Propser, Texas, and has a listing price of $21 million (it has 30,000 square feet and 10 bedrooms). Pilar has been house hunting since Thanksgiving. The 44-year-old Sanders played in the NFL from 1989 to 2005 as a cornerback/return specialist. He was previously married to Carolyn Chambers, with whom he has two children (Deion Jr. and Deiondra). Sanders has three children with Pilar (Shilo, Shedeur and Shelomi).

Terrence Howard Fires Back at Estranged Wife, Claims She Hates Black People
Two weeks after getting restrained by his estranged wife, Terrence Howard is firing back, accusing Michelle Ghent of hurling racial slurs at him at various times during their short-lived and apparently tumultuous union. The 42-year-old thesp claimed his erstwhile missus (whom he notes is not African-American) often referred to him using the N-word and screamed other racist names at him like "monkey." The former Crash star asserted that his 34-year-old spouse, whom he married in secret in January 2010, once yelled that she "never wanted to marry a n----r in the first place" and "didn't want to be the stepmother of some n----r kids." He also claimed Ghent once said had "a lot of Russian friends" who would have him "clipped" if he ever went to authorities. Ghent filed for divorce last February after only a year of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. But it wasn't obvious just how ugly things had gotten between the two until Ghent took out a temporary restraining order on Dec. 6, claiming Howrard had routinely abused her and threatened to kill her. Howard, who's not allowed to go within 100 yards of Ghent until their next court hearing on Jan. 17, rebutted the charges in court papers, denying he ever laid a hand on her and contending blackmail, saying she threatened to go public with "private materials" unless he paid her money. The actor does have a history of violence, however. He was arrested in 2001 on charges that he attacked his then-wife, Lori McCommas. He later pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace, and the couple divorced.
Teresa Giudice's Husband Joe Giudice Indicted on Fake ID Charges There's trouble brewing this Christmas for Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice. On Tuesday, a grand jury in Passaic County, N.J., handed down a two-count indictment against Joe Giudice, a former developer. The charge includes one count of wrongfully using identifying information of another, punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and one count of impersonation, which can carry up to 18 months in prison. The indictment alleges that last year, Giudice used his brother Pietro Giudice's information, including a marriage and birth certificate, to obtain a driver's license at the Paterson, N.J., department of motor vehicles. His own license had been suspended at that time following a DUI. In an interview last spring, Joe, 40, denied any wrongdoing, saying that he and his wife, who also weathered a contentious bankruptcy before withdrawing the claim earlier this year, were targets because of their notoriety from the Bravo reality show. "They didn't even catch me driving," he said at the time. "They came to my house and said you're driving with your brother's license and then they got me with some kind of stupid charge."

How’s this for a crowning achievement: Glee is playing host to the Queen! Oscar winner Helen Mirren has signed on to guest star in the show’s first episode back on Jan. 17. But in a twist, the British dame will be heard, not seen. Per a Glee insider, Mirren provides the “inner voice” of a character who shall remain nameless. (For now at least.) “Helen came in and secretly recorded several long and hilarious monologues two weeks ago,” says the source. “Then she visited the kids on set, and they had no idea she was coming; they were stunned.”  The role was written for Mirren, but there was no guarantee she’d actually do it. So producers dispatched frequent Glee director and Mirren confidante Eric Stoltz (the two co-starred in the 2007 drama The Passion Of Ayn Rand) to sell her on the idea. Stoltz apparently didn’t have to twist her arm too hard though. “Helen’s a big fan of the show,” says the source, “and the message it sends out about arts education.”

Rihanna Slams Magazine for "Disrespectful," "Desperate" Racial Slur

Just days after Rihanna tweeted about a confrontation she had with a tighty-whities-clad bigot at a hotel in Portugal, she's taking a stand over another prejudiced party. On Monday, the Barbadian chanteuse slammed the editor of popular Dutch fashion magazine Jackie, which published an article that referred to her with a combined racist and sexist term, mashing together the n-word and the b-word. Feel free to take a moment to slam your head on your desk and wonder if the world really is going to end in 2012. The piece, translated by Parlour magazine, which also has a screenshot, is accompanied by a photo of Rihanna and is execrable in every way. "Rihanna, the good girl gone bad, is the ultimate [n-word][b-word]," it reads, before implying that she's from Jamaica and casually calling her caboose a "ghetto a--." RiRi was not pleased.  "I hope u can read english," she railed to Jackie Editor-in-Chief Eva Hoeke on Twitter, "because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights! I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate!! You ran out of legit, civilized information to print!" Notes Rihanna, "There are 1000's of Dutch girls who would love to be recognized for their contributions to your country, you could have given them an article. Instead, u paid to print one degrading an entire race! That's your contribution to this world! To encourage segregation, to mislead the future leaders to act in the past!" And then she really picked up steam. "You put two words together, with the intent of abasement, that made no sense," the chart-topper fumed. "Well with all respect, on behalf of my race, here are my two words for you ...[BLEEP] YOU!!!" Best as we can tell, the intent of the Jackie piece was to show moms how to dress their daughters like Rihanna, in "pink shizzle and everything that glitters." (Yes, the word "shizzle" was used, a journalistic crime that should result in prison time.) The magazine's editor addressed the controversy on Facebook, insisting the "author meant no harm," and the double-whammy slur "was intended as a joke" (because racism is apparently a rich comedy vein to tap). Acknowledged the editor, "It was naive to think that this was an acceptable form of slang -- you hear it all the time on TV and radio, then your idea of what is normal apparently shifts."

Dave Haywood Engaged to Kelli Cashiola

Dave Haywood wrapped up his Christmas shopping early – and even got a jump on Santa Claus – surprising girlfriend Kelli Cashiola with a marriage proposal on Monday evening, a rep for the Lady Antebellum musician confirmed. Haywood, 29, made his gal's favorite holiday one she'll never forget by staging an elaborate setup to pop the question. After picking Cashiola – VP of Marketing/Brand Management for Warner Music Nashville – up from her Music Row office, the musician asked her to slip on a blindfold as they turned onto her street. Once inside her home, Cashiola was delighted to discover that while she was at work, Haywood had transformed every room into a sparkling winter wonderland. But it was outside that the reason for the blindfold was revealed – a string of Christmas lights spelled out "Will you marry me?" on the front of the house. As Haywood put the ring on her finger, Cashiola, 29, replied, "Yes!" A date has not been set for the nuptials, though it's presumed it will be after bandmate Hillary Scott's anticipated spring wedding to fiancé Chris Tyrrell. The couple, who have been friends for about five years, publicly revealed their romance last month when they walked the CMA Awards red carpet together, accompanying Scott and Tyrrell, as well as third bandmate Charles Kelly and his wife Cassie McConnell. Lady Antebellum is taking a brief break for the holidays from their tour, which resumes Jan. 27 in Tulsa, Okla. Their Own the Night album is nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Album.
LOHAN-PLAYBOY-COVER The Lindsay Lohan issue of Playboy magazine seems to be a hit. Hugh Hefner tweeted on Sunday that “The Lindsay Lohan January-February Double Issue is breaking sales records.” Though Playboy isn’t releasing official numbers yet, a spokesperson for the magazine said the issue is doing “very well.” A spokesperson for Hudson News, one of the countries largest chains of newsstands, also didn’t have figures yet, but concurred that “we have noticed excitement in the stores about this issue … so we assume that the issue will do very well.” But will it be a record-breaker? That would be quite a feat, since Playboy sold around 7 million copies per month back in its heydays of the early 1970s. Today, its circulation is closer to 1.5 million. But it’s still feasible to consider that Lohan’s issue might rival other popular Playboys featuring celebrity photo spreads, like the approximately 4 million copies of the 1995 issue that featured Farrah Fawcett. If Lohan does really break Playboy‘s sales records, Hefner might want to think about cutting another million-dollar check for Ms. Lohan. Some of Playboy‘s others best-sellers in the last 10 years featured Cindy Crawford, Katarina Witt, Pam Anderson, and, of course, Marge Simpson.

Piers Morgan faces UK media inquiry

CNN star interviewer Piers Morgan will talk about his former job as editor of one of Britain’s troubled tabloids at a judge-led inquiry into the practices of Britain’s scandal-tarred press. Morgan will give evidence via videolink Tuesday to the Leveson inquiry in London. The inquiry was set up following the disclosure that the now-defunct News of the World tabloid had for years illegally eavesdropped on the voice mail messages of celebrities, athletes, and crime victims. Morgan shot to national prominence when he was picked by Rupert Murdoch to run the News of the World at age 28. Under his tenure, the tabloid exposed actor Hugh Grant’s liaison with Hollywood prostitute Divine Brown. Grant has already given evidence about press abuse to the inquiry. Since January 2011, he has hosted Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN in the time slot previously occupied by Larry King Live.

Acting professor sues NYU claiming he was fired for giving James Franco a 'D'

James Franco’s multi-pronged academic pursuits have been well-documented over the past few years, and one of the common refrains has been awe and disbelief that the actor could manage to squeeze in all the necessary course work while also taking time to shoot movies like 127 Hours and Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Well, according to one former NYU professor, Franco’s secret was not coming to class much at all. Jose Angel Santana is reportedly suing the university for wrongful termination, discrimination, and harassment, alleging that when he gave Franco a “D” in Directing the Actor II for missing 12 out of 14 classes, he was demoted, systematically isolated from the university, and eventually denied reappointment. Santana also alleges that Franco hired another professor, Jay Anania, to write and direct a feature film starring the actor, and that the chair of the graduate film department John Tintori appeared in a cameo role in the film. (That film, The Stare, a psychological thriller, reportedly finished filming this month.) “We have not seen the lawsuit yet, but the claims we are seeing in the media are ridiculous,” says a university spokesman in a statement. “Beyond that, it is regrettable and disappointing to see a faculty member — former or otherwise — discuss any student’s grade for the purpose of personal publicity.”
Chaz Bono and Jennifer Elia End Engagement | Chaz Bono Chaz Bono and his fiancée, Jennifer Elia, have called off their engagement and ended their relationship. "They leave this relationship with great love, respect and affection towards one another," the couple's publicist, Howard Bragman said. "Thanks for your concern about our separation," Bono, 42, Tweeted. "I'm doing fine, and we remain on good terms with nothing but respect and affection 4 each other." They got engaged earlier this year when Bono proposed to Elia in Seattle. Though the couple started dating before Bono transitioned from female to male, Elia said in 2009 that she fully supported his decision.

Daniel Craig to Play James Bond in Five More Films?

Daniel Craig is currently hard at work shooting Skyfall, the 23rd James Bond adventure, and his third go-round as the suave secret agent.  But if a new report is to believed, 007 movie producer Michael G. Wilson is looking to sign Craig onto five more James Bond adventures, breaking by one Roger Moore's cinematic streak as the legendary spy. "Filming has gone very well and I'd love Daniel to surpass Roger's record and do eight pictures," Wilson said. "Filming has gone very well and I'd love Daniel to surpass Roger's record and do eight pictures," Wilson told the newspaper The People.  "A lot of people have said Daniel's been their favorite Bond since Sean Connery and I can’t argue with them.  He’s doing a great job." Salary talks with the busy Craig -- who will be seen soon in theaters in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and heard as a voice in The Adventures of TinTin -- will reportedly start as soon as Skyfall wraps. That film is slated to open Nov. 9, 2012.

Man sentenced to one year in federal prison for pirating 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'

A New York man has been sentenced to a year in federal prison for illegally uploading and distributing a copy of X-Men Origins: Wolverine before the movie’s premiere. Forty-nine-year-old Gilberto Sanchez was sentenced Monday in Los Angeles federal court. The judge also imposed a year of supervised release and numerous computer restrictions. Sanchez pleaded guilty in March to one count of uploading a copyrighted work being prepared for commercial distribution. Prosecutors say he admitted uploading a “workprint” copy of the 2009 film about one month before it was released in theaters, then publicizing the upload on two websites. Prosecutors said in court documents that the film proliferated like wildfire throughout the Internet, resulting in up to millions of infringements.

Rapper Slim Dunkin Fatally Shot
rapper Slim Dunking was fatally shot while he was recording in his Atlanta studio. According to the declarations of the Atlanta police, the rapper whose real name was Mario Hamilton got into an argument with another individual on Friday and he was later on shot in his chest. The identity of the shooter is unknown, according to the declaration of police major Keith Meadows. The Atlanta police are undergoing an investigation inside the building of the music studio. 20 people have been interviewed so far because they were in the building at the time of the shooting which was set around 5:30 p.m. However, the investigation is difficult because each witness was in a different area of the building. The handgun wasn’t found either. Meadows told reporters that the police are trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together because witnesses presented different declarations. The officers are doing their best to identify the information that could clarify the death of Slim Dunkin. The only scenario they’ve come up with is that the rapper was preparing for a photo shoot when he got involved into a verbal altercation with the suspect. The latter produced a gun and shot the rapper in his chest. Slim Dunkin was brought to the hospital but it was too late to be saved. Dunkin was only 20 years old and he was trying to become a rapper. He collaborated on various occasions with the rapper Waka Flocka Flame and was preparing for many other musical projects in 2012.

Giants LB Boley probed for child abuse

New York Giants linebacker Michael Boley is being investigated for abusing his 5-year-old son — a claim his lawyer shot down as nothing more than a money grab. Authorities in Gadsden, Ala., are deciding whether to charge Boley, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound player who was once arrested on a domestic-violence charge, for allegedly abusing the child in early June. The district attorney’s office in Etowah County, Ala., is expected to ask a grand jury to consider the evidence in the abuse case and decide whether to launch criminal charges against Boley. But attorney Randall Kessler pointed out that when the child’s mother had a chance in court to restrict Boley’s access to the boy, all she asked for was more child support. “We went to trial in October, four months after the allegation, and all that was presented was her request for a lot more child support,” he told The Post. “A lot more.” The abuse allegation and the request to “quintuple” the amount of child support came amid a tense year-long custody battle, Kessler said. Following the claim, another of Boley’s baby mamas asked a judge in Georgia to require supervised visits when the player sees their 2-year-old child.  The judge hasn’t ruled on the request. The woman, who lives in Georgia, hasn’t lodged any abuse claims. Boley was arrested in May 2008 in Georgia for allegedly beating his now-ex-wife, Chantelle. Charges were later dropped.

Kobe Bryant's Wife Files for Divorce

The Los Angeles Lakers star's wife of 10 years, Vanessa, filed for divorce Friday in Orange County, California. Vanessa cites irreconcilable differences, and is seeking spousal support and shared custody of their two daughters, Natalia Diamante Bryant, 8, and Gianna Maria-Onore, 5. Bryant, 33, and his soon-to-be ex-wife, 29, married in April 2001, when Bryant was just 22 and she was 18. The couple released a statement saying, "The couple say "We ask that in the interest of our young children and in light of the upcoming holiday season, the public respect our privacy during this most difficult time." There are reports the Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant cheated multiple times with multiple partners on his wife of more than a decade. Vanessa Bryant knew that her husband had been involved with "multiple women" over the years, but a recent affair pushed her over the edge.  In 2003, they weathered a public scandal after Bryant was charged with allegedly raping a 19-year-old Colorado resort employee. The charges were eventually dropped after the accuser refused to testify. The case settled out of court.

It was the second marriage for Sanders, who won the Super Bowl with the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys. The 44-year-old was previously married to Carolyn Chambers, and they have two children together.

"Diana has a little baby bump now and it's the cutest thing ever. With the holidays coming up, this is the biggest and best gift we could get." Gonzalez-Jones and Martinez met in 2008 when he landed a role on "All My Children," while she was working as an assistant to the executive producer. They'll welcome the baby in the spring. "2011 has been full of a lot of surprises and opportunities and ultimately, a lot of blessings," says Martinez. "Diana and I were just asking ourselves, 'How is 2012 going to top 2011?'

Barry Bonds avoids jail in perjury case

Barry Bonds avoided prison and will remain free after a federal judge in San Francisco sentenced Bonds, convicted of obstruction of justice last April, to 30 days' house arrest, two years of probation, 250 hours of community service and a $4,000 fine. Since Bonds is appealing the charges, a process that could take a year, the judge, U.S. District Judge Susan Illston, delayed imposing the sentence. Matthew Parrella, assistant U.S. attorney, asked that Bonds receive 15 months in prison for dodging questions about steroids during his 2003 grand jury testimony. When Illston concluded that Bonds' convicted behavior was "aberrant," Parrella argued, "The defendant basically lived a double life for decades. He had mistresses throughout his marriages." Parrella called the sentence a "slap on the wrist" and the fine "almost laughable," given the money that Bonds made in his baseball career.

Not only did the pop star and her beau celebrate their 30th and 40th birthdays, respectively, now they're now engaged! In fact, the pop star's longtime love proposed on his birthday Thursday night in Los Angeles. Beyonce's Parents Divorce Final
Mathew and Tina Knowles' on again-off again divorce dragged on for two years, but it's now legally final. The final decree of divorce was issued in a Texas court, and according to documents Beyonce's mom refiled on August 30. Tina's first swing at the divorce was in November 2009 ... but the matter was dropped in 2010 when they were both no-shows for court. In the docs, Tina says the marriage was "insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities" ... which "prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation." The papers make no specific mention of Mathew getting slapped with a paternity suit back in 2009 -- but the original divorce filing did come one month after that went down. The turned out to be his.

This week, the industry was helped by the premieres of three sequels -- "Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows," "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked," and "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol." NFL player arrested on federal drug charges
NFL player Samuel Hurd has been arrested and charged with conspiring to distribute cocaine. Agents say Hurd, 26, a wide receiver for the Chicago Bears, was arrested Wednesday night after a five-month investigation that began in Dallas, where Hurd once played for the Cowboys. Authorities say he was trying to set up a drug distribution network in Chicago. The complaint states that Hurd met with an ICE undercover agent at a restaurant in Chicago on Wednesday night when, law enforcement officials say, Hurd introduced himself as the person communicating with a confidential informant. Hurd stated that he was interested in purchasing 5 to 10 kilograms of cocaine, at $25,000 per kilogram, and 1,000 pounds of marijuana at $450 per pound per week for distribution in the Chicago area, according to ICE. Hurd said that "he and another co-conspirator currently distribute about four kilograms of cocaine per week in Chicago but that his supplier couldn't supply him with enough quantity."   After they finished negotiating, according to the complaint, the undercover agent presented Hurd with a kilogram of cocaine that Hurd accepted. "Hurd stated that he plays for the Chicago Bears and that he gets out of practice at about 5:30 p.m., after which he would make arrangements to pay for the kilogram of cocaine," ICE officials said in a news release, "Hurd left the restaurant with the bag of cocaine and was arrested shortly thereafter in the parking lot of the restaurant." If convicted, Hurd faces a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison and a $2 million fine for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.

Lawsuit over Jay-Z song going to trial
Rap superstar Jay-Z is preparing to head to trial over allegations that his hit song "Big Pimpin'" infringes the copyright of an Egyptian song dating back to 1957. Osama Ahmed Fahmy co-owns the rights to his uncle Baligh Hamdy's composition "Khosara, Khosara," and he initially sued the hip-hop icon in 2007, claiming Jay-Z and producer Timbaland used the track's melody for the 2000 chart smash "Big Pimpin'."  Jay-Z's record label bosses at EMI argued that the then-50-year-old song was governed by the 1909 Copyright Act, which allows works to be protected by law for 28 years from the date of release, and a Los Angeles court judge ruled in their favor earlier this year. However, U.S. District Judge Christina Snyder subsequently decided Fahmy could still claim damages for any infringements that occurred up to three years before he filed suit, and the two parties will return to court to determine whether Jay-Z directly profited from using "Big Pimpin'" in his live performances.

The civil case will go to court in Manhattan on Dec. 21.

Authorities later searched an Avondale apartment listed in Hopkins' name. They say they found another 100 pounds of marijuana. Hopkins starred in the 1989 movie "Lean on Me" at 15 and has appeared on several TV shows. Hopkins lives in North Carolina. He's being held on $35,000 bond on suspicion of two felony counts of possessing, transporting and trying to sell marijuana.

Rodney Atkins Arrested for Domestic Assault
Country superstar Rodney Atkins was arrested in Tennessee for domestic assault after allegedly trying to smother his wife with a pillow. Rodney has since filed for divorce, and insists his wife made up the whole thing.  Rodney's wife Tammy Atkins called 911 at 7:47 AM on November 21 -- claiming the two had been arguing throughout the night in their home ... when Rodney turned violent. Tammy told police Rodney tried to smother her with a pillow ... and later grabbed her by the face and threw her down the hallway. According to cops, Tammy insisted the platinum-selling singer "had been drinking alcohol all night and was intoxicated." What's worse -- Tammy claims the entire assault took place in front of the couple's 10-year-old son. Rodney was hauled to a nearby jail -- where he was booked and released on $2,500 bail. But Rodney says his wife is straight up lying -- and his lawyer is calling the incident nothing more than an "unfortunate verbal dispute." Rodney's lawyer says, "When Mr. Atkins realized their child was in hearing range of the argument his first priority became getting out of the earshot of the child." The statement continues, "Mr. Atkins realized he would have no recourse but to file a complaint for divorce. He has exercised substantial parenting time with the parties son and he will continue to do so while the divorce is pending."

Janet Jackson puts new "face" on weight loss

It's no secret that Janet Jackson has battled weight issues her entire life, but what her fans may not know is that even when the singer is on tour, sweating every night, she still has problems staying slim. So Jackson joined the ranks of Nutrisystem users on Thursday to become the "new face" of the weight-loss program, promoting a new "SUCCESS" diet plan even as she uses it to help raise money to feed the world's hungry. The "Rhythm Nation" singer and member of the famous Jackson family, wrote fearlessly about self-image issues in her book, "True You," documenting a period in 2006 when she put on weight for a movie and ballooned to 180 lbs, only to become fodder for fat jokes in the tabloid press. But Jackson said it's not only working as an actress that can cause her to put on pounds. Rather, it is everyday life that gets her. And even after dancing and singing nearly every night on her "Number Ones," she still battles weight gain. "Your body gets used to different exercises, and I've been performing for so long that my body's just used to it. Actually, I have to work a little harder while doing a show," she told Reuters. Weight gain, she said "is something I've dealt with my entire life."  After Nutrisystem chief executive Joe Redling read the book, he approached Jackson about his weight-loss program and gave her some of Nutrisystem's pre-packaged foods to sample while on tour. Jackson said she was sold. "When I was in hair and makeup, we were all taste testing. Everybody was going crazy for it," she said.  Jackson joins a long list of celebrities, including Kirstie Alley and Jennifer Hudson, who have publicly battled weight loss and endorsed diet programs. Typically, the stars document how much they lose, but Jackson doesn't want to do that. "I'm going about this a different way by not putting a pound amount on it," she said. "It's about when I feel healthy, about when I feel good. That is how I want to be," she said.

Ashley Tisdale Splits With Scott Speer
The couple has ended their relationship of more than two years. Tisdale, 26, began dating music video director Speer, 29, in the spring of 2009, one month after she broke up with V Factory band member Jared Murillo. "They had been on and off for a while. They tried to work it out but realized their relationship ran its course."
matisyahu-beardless Yesterday, the “One Day” singer Matisyahu posted a photo on Twitter which showed him with a clean-shaven face. The photo was accompanied by a message: “At the break of day I look for you at sunrise When the tide comes in I lose my disguise.” The lines come from the song “Thunder,” which can be found on Matisyahu’s 2009 album, Light.

Howard Stern To Judge On 'America's Got Talent'

After months of speculation, Sirius satellite radio host Howard Stern confirmed on Thursday (December 15) that he will join the judging panel of one of his favorite reality TV shows, NBC's "America's Got Talent."  "I'm going to be Piers [Morgan] on steroids," Stern promised, in reference to former lead judge Piers Morgan. "It's going to be a no-nonsense judge ... I'm going to go there as a serious judge ... It's gonna be something else ... I am very excited." On his satellite show on Thursday, Stern was joined by his long-time agent, Don Buchwald, who made a rare on-air appearance to present the show's host with the official contracts for his new gig. Stern took great pleasure in joking about how he was going to be back with NBC, the company that famously fired him in 1985 for his lewd on-air behavior on his WNBC radio show.  "I am very happy for you because I know how much you love this show," said longtime sidekick Robin Quivers. "I will find the next superstar," Stern promised. He said he will start taping the first audition episodes in February.

Tami From Basketball Wives Sued

"Basketball Wives" star Tami Roman is being sued by her ex-manager ... who claims he helped make Tami rich and famous -- but she refuses to pay him for a job well done. Jerry Silverhardt filed the lawsuit Monday in L.A. County Superior Court -- claiming he was instrumental in securing Tami's "Basketball Wives" gig ... but instead of being grateful, she fired his ass. Jerry claims Tami paid him for Season Two -- but then left him out to dry after she ended their relationship in February ... refusing to pay for work she did on the recently completed Season 3. According to Jerry, Tami's oral contract with him is crystal clear ... she owes him 10% no matter what on all "Wives" paychecks for seasons 3 through 6 -- and she better pay up, stat.

TV NEWS

Aaron Sorkin’s new HBO series about the cable news biz is generating a pretty massive headline of its own: Two-time Oscar winner Jane Fonda is joining the cast in a recurring role that is sure to have conspiracy theorists buzzing. The still-untitled hour-long drama — which is being unofficially referred to as Newsroom — is set behind the scenes at a fictional cable news network and centers on an anchor (Jeff Daniels), his new executive producer (Emily Mortimer), his newsroom staff (Alison Pill, John Gallagher, Jr., Olivia Munn, Dev Patel, Thomas Sadoski) and their boss (Law & Order‘s Sam Waterston). Fonda, in her first major television gig, will play Leona Lansing, the CEO of cable news network’s parent company. She’s a titan and her corporate concerns often conflict with the reporting of the news outlet she owns.

Finola Hughes is returning once more to General Hospital. The reappearance of international jet-setter Anna Devane is set to take place during February sweeps and will coincide with the exit of Kimberly McCullough, who plays Hughes’ onscreen daughter, Dr. Robin Scorpio-Drake.

Big Bang Theory‘s Jim Parsons will take a stab at guest co-hosting Live! with Kelly on Tuesday, Jan. 3. Also joining the Regis-less Kelly Ripa during the first week of the new year are hubby-of-the-host Mark Consuelos, Californication‘s David Duchovny and Parks and Recreation‘s Rob Lowe.
