Dominic Monaghan accuses Matthew Fox of beating women: 'Lost' feud flares on Twitter

Six days ago, "Lost" co-creator Damon Lindelof celebrated the two-year anniversary of the show's highly polarizing series finale -- but while the show is in the past, that doesn't mean that the drama is over. Fan favorite Dominic Monaghan took to Twitter this week to promote his new documentary series, "Wild Things," this week, with a fan Q&A. One fan asked him to encourage his old "Lost" co-star Matthew Fox to join Twitter.Monaghan didn't seem up to phoning Fox, though, as he replied to the fan bluntly: "he beats women. No thanks."Last year, Fox was accused of punching a female bus driver in the crotch and the breast when she refused to give him a ride -- but he managed to avoid being charged in the incident. Monaghan, however, accuses Fox of more repeated incidents of violence."I KNOW IT WAS WRONG BUT WHAT?! WHAT ABOUT ALL THOSE GOOD TIMES YOU HAD TOGETHER?!" the fan asked Monaghan, to which he replied: "you don't know either of us. he beats women. not isolated incidents. often. not interested."He insists on the veracity of the statement -- and says he's not worried about Fox pressing charges against him for his accusations. "an accusation is when you 'claim' someone did something wrong. i know," he wrote. "And it's very difficult to sue someone for speaking the truth."

Britain's Supreme Court backs extradition of Julian Assange to Sweden
Britain's Supreme Court on Wednesday backed the extradition of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to Sweden where he is accused of sex crimes -- the latest chapter in the saga of the self-styled Internet whistle-blower. Swedish prosecutors want to question Assange over claims of rape and sexual assault made by two female former WikiLeaks volunteers, and he has been fighting a lengthy legal battle against extradition since his arrest in Britain in Dec. 2010. Seven judges at Britain's highest court rejected by a majority of 5-2 that Assange's claim that a European Arrest Warrant (EAW) under which his extradition is sought was invalid.  Two lower courts have already ruled he should be extradited. The former computer hacker gained international prominence in 2010 when WikiLeaks began releasing secret video footage and thousands of U.S. diplomatic cables about Iraq and Afghanistan, in the largest leak of classified documents in U.S. history. That made him a hero to anti-censorship campaigners but a menace to Washington and other governments. Assange also faced widespread criticism that he had put lives at risk by blowing the cover of sources who spoke to diplomats and intelligence agents in countries where it was dangerous to do so.  Since then, WikiLeaks has faded from the headlines due to a dearth of scoops and a blockade by credit card companies that has made donations to the site almost impossible. Assange's personal standing has been damaged by the Swedish sex case and he has lost support from most of his celebrity backers.  Assange's personal travails have accelerated WikiLeaks' slide toward irrelevance since its heyday. The suspected source of the site's biggest and most dramatic 2010 leaks, U.S. intelligence analyst Bradley Manning, is now facing 22 criminal charges which, if he is convicted, could land him in jail for life.

Tim Daly is checking out of Private Practice. The actor announced late Tuesday that series creator Shonda Rhimes opted not to pick up his contract option for the ABC medical soap’s upcoming sixth (and likely final) season. In a somewhat terse statement posted on Twitter, Daly said, “Wonderful fans of PPP. Shonda informed my agent today that Pete won’t be returning for season 6. It was a great 5 yrs. R.I.P. Pete Wilder.” Daly was likely the victim of cost cutting. PPP‘s renewal came down to the wire earlier this month as both sides haggled over budget-related issues.

Ex-champ Tapia found dead
Johnny Tapia, the five-time boxing champion whose turbulent career was marked by cocaine addiction, alcohol, depression and run-ins with the law, was found dead Sunday at his Albuquerque home. He was 45. Authorities were called to the house at about 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, spokesman Robert Gibbs said. The death didn't appear to be suspicious, he said. Tapia won five championships in three weight classes, winning the WBA bantamweight title, the IBF and WBO junior bantamweight titles and the IBF featherweight belt. He was regarded as the consummate underdog by his fans. The more trouble he found outside the ring - including several stints in jail - the more they rallied around him.  But his life was also marked by tragedy. He was orphaned at 8, his mother stabbed 26 times with a screwdriver and left to die. In 2007, he was hospitalized after an apparent cocaine overdose. Several days later, his brother-in-law and his nephew were killed in car accident on their way to Albuquerque to see the ailing boxer. Tapia was banned from boxing for 3 1/2 years in the early `90s because of his cocaine addiction. But he knocked out Henry Martinez to win the WBO bantamweight title in 1994, and won four more championships over the next eight years. He last fought in June, outpointing Mauricio Pastrana in an eight-round decision. He finished with a 59-5-2 record. Gibbs said an autopsy will be performed in the next few days.

Boxer Williams paralyzed
Boxer Paul Williams was paralyzed Sunday after being involved in a motorcycle crash in the Atlanta suburbs and doctors said it is unlikely he will continue his career, his manager said Monday. ''From the waist down, he has absolutely no movement. He's in very good spirits, though,'' George Peterson told The Associated Press from his home in Aiken, S.C. ''He still believes he's going to fight again.'' Williams, 30, severed his spinal cord after falling on his back and head when he was thrown from his motorcycle Sunday morning in Marietta, Ga., Peterson said. Williams has been listed in serious but stable condition on Monday at an undisclosed hospital, Peterson said. The crash happened Sunday morning in Marietta after Williams tried to avoid another car in the next lane that was negotiating a curve and then had to maneuver to avoid an oncoming car. Williams was in the area to attend his brother's wedding Sunday afternoon, Peterson said. ''I know he's going to make a statement after surgery on Wednesday, because he's that kind of person,'' Peterson said. ''He's 100 percent coherent and still has the will to want to get back on the motorcycle.''  ''We want his fans to know he's going to be all right and he'll be back,'' Peterson said. ''He said if he wasn't going to be boxing, he's going to be a stand-up comedian.''

Aside from her engagement, up next for the movie star is the release of Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, where she's featured opposite Steve Carrell.

Todd Bridges Splits from Wife of 14 Years
After 14 years of marriage, Diff'rent Strokes alum Todd Bridges and his wife Dori are splitting. "The Bridges have decided that disunion is in the best interest of their collective futures," a statement from Bridges says. "Although Todd and Dori are going their separate ways, they are mutually committed to the well-being of their son [Spencir, 13]." The once troubled teen star, 47, who also appeared on the UPN/CW sitcom Everybody Hates Chris, broke the news on his Twitter account Friday. "She's a great mother I'm glad to have had the years to know her and have a great kid with her," he wrote. "As we know, people grow apart and we did."
Meagan Good Has a Burlesque-Themed Bachelorette Bash in Vegas | Meagan Good Meagan Good isn't rushing to the altar – but she also has wedding planning on her mind. "I think when you really find the right person you just know," the Think Like a Man star says of her preacher and producer fiancé DeVon Franklin. "There is no point in waiting – waiting for what?" Though she wouldn't divulge exactly when or where the nuptials will be, Good, 30, said planning is coming along nicely, although the wedding is turning out bigger than she wants it to be. "I wanted to go for an enchanted feeling," she said. "I wanted fireflies and a bayou type of feel and I think we're achieving that," she said, referencing Twilight and the animated film Fern Gully as specific inspirations. Before saying "I do," Good celebrated with a bachelorette party on Friday in Las Vegas. Considering she's marrying a preacher, one may think it would be a tamed down affair. Not so. Good went the opposite route, putting on a burlesque performance at Las Vegas's Pussycat Dolls Burlesque Saloon. In attendance: her future mother-in-law! "I don't think there is anything wrong with being sexy or cheeky or funny," she said. "I don't know how some church folk are going to be, but at the end of the day it's between me and God and my husband."

Nick Fairley arrested again

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley has been arrested in Alabama on charges of driving under the influence and attempting to elude police, his second arrest in his home state in two months. Alabama state troopers say the 24-year-old passed a state trooper early Sunday morning at 100 mph in his Cadillac Escalade in unincorporated Mobile County. After initially refusing to stop for the trooper's emergency lights and siren, Fairley pulled over and seemed impaired. He was arrested without incident. Fairly was also cited for reckless driving, no proof of insurance and open container. Fairley also was arrested April 3 in Mobile on a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge after citizens called to complain that Fairley's Escalade was speeding through a lower-middle class neighborhood in Mobile.

TV NEWS

FOX, CBS, NBC SUE DISH; DISH SUES THEM The dispute between Dish Network and the broadcast networks over the satco’s new--and much advertised-- AdHop device that automatically eliminates commercials on taped programs went to court late last week as Fox, NBC and CBS filed separate suits alleging copyright infringement and violations of contract terms. Ironically--and perhaps in keeping with the personality of CEO Charlie Ergen-- it was Dish that filed the first suit asking a federal judge to preemptively decide that there was not copyright violation in the device. Dish is arguing that the AdHop does not violate copyright because commercials can only be skipped in recorded shows, not live broadcasts. And viewers could skip ads on their own, if they did not have the device.

Elton John Hospitalized: Singer Admitted To Cedars-Sinai To Treat Respiratory Infection

Elton John was hospitalized Wednesday for a "serious" respiratory infection, the singer's rep said. John was admitted to Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles at 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, but is reportedly doing better and recovering from the health scare. But doctors have advised the "Tiny Dancer" singer to cancel concerts for at least the next week. John was told that he needed "complete rest and antibiotic treatment to prevent damage." John first showed signs of poor health at a Las Vegas concert on May 20 and only worsened thereafter.  "All I can say to the fans is sorry I can't be with you," John said in a statement, regarding the canceled concert dates. "I hope to see you soon at this wonderful theatre at Caesars Palace."
Megan Fox The Megan Fox pregnancy doubters just went belly up. I reported a month ago, the Transformers hottie is pregnant with her and husband Brian Austin Green's first child. And while the couple hasn't commented on the good news, they could only keep things under wraps for so long.  Fox, 26, was spotted today's in L.A.'s Los Feliz neighborhood looking far bumpier than usual, hands resting on her tummy.
Chaka Khan on October 3, 2009 and on May 23, 2012Chaka Khan performs onstage at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on May 23, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.  The real scene-stealer during American Idol's Wednesday finale? Legendary chanteuse Chaka Khan. Though she had an engagement and performances from A-listers like Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith to compete with, the 59-year-old generated plenty of buzz of her own on the red carpet when she showed off a noticeably slimmer figure. Prior to heading inside the show, Khan flaunted her tiny waist in skinny-fit printed pants, and a black satin blouse. During her performance, the Queen of Funk took it up another notch, donning a brown, sequined catsuit to perform a medley of her hits, including "Ain't Nobody," "Through the Fire," and "I'm Every Woman."
Katherine Heigl steps out with mother Nancy and new daughter Adalaide on Wednesday in Beverly Hills, Calif. Diana DeGarmo Ace Young Engagement Ring For his surprise proposal on American Idol Wednesday night, Ace Young selected an 18-karat yellow gold, platinum and diamond engagement ring to present to longtime girlfriend Diana DeGarmo. The David Webb sparkler, which features a 1.2-carat fancy yellow center stone, also boasts two side diamonds weighing .4 carats. Young helped to design the ring, after hearing DeGarmo drop a hint. “A month ago, she said, ‘Gold needs to come back,’” Young said after Wednesday’s finale. “I was like, ‘I agree,’ so mental note. Her favorite thing is a sunflower and she loves yellow, so one of our dear friends [helped me] put together a ring that has a yellow diamond, a gold band and two smaller diamonds on the side that are clear, so it’s like a sunflower.” The couple, who’ve been together for two years, met in the spring of 2010 when both signed on to costar in the Broadway revival of the musical Hair. DeGarmo appeared on Idol season three, while Young was on season five.

TV NEWS
If "X Factor" producers are looking for drama from new judges Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, it appears that they may have gotten exactly what they hoped for. The two judges square off during Thursday's (May 24) auditions in Austin, TX. It is here that Spears and Lovato couldn't have disagreed more over one of the entrants in the "Boys" category. And Spears has already walked off the set of the singing competition. The incident happened after a contestant's performance of Spears' song "Hold it Against Me" left much to be desired. She split and didn't immediately come back, letting four performers sing to the three remaining judges, Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid and Lovato.

Suds vet Richard Steinmetz (ex-Martin, Passions; ex-Jeff, Loving) is joining General Hospital as the son of a former character (any guesses?) who has a major story arc opposite Sonny Corinthos.

Hope JoAnna Garcia likes working with monkeys. The actress has been cast in the female lead role in NBC’s Animal Practice (taking over a part from Amy Huberman, who appeared in the show’s pilot). The comedy stars Justin Kirk as a veterinarian working for his former girlfriend (Garcia), who runs an animal hospital. Garcia was a regular on The CW’s Privileged and ABC’s Better With You, and had recent arcs on The CW’s Gossip Girl and USA’s Royal Pains.

Lifetime provoked a frenzy of response last month when it cast Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor in its biopic Liz & Dick. In a move that probably won’t generate quite the same divided and clamorous reaction, the network has selected Grant Bowler to play Richard Burton, Oscar-nominated actor and famed lover of the Hollywood icon. Bowler is recognizable to True Blood fans as V-addicted werewolf Cooter and to Ugly Betty fans as Wilhelmina’s love interest.

As a trainer on The Biggest Loser, Jillian Michaels was known for dishing out tough love to contestants. But these days, she’s doling out tickles and hugs to her 2-year-old daughter, Lukensia – whom she recently brought home from Haiti after a lengthy adoption process — and the newborn son, Phoenix, that partner Heidi Rhoades gave birth to on May 3 in Los Angeles.
Robert Irvine & Gail Kim Share Their Wedding Photos When Food Network chef Robert Irvine married pro wrestler Gail Kim on May 10, he had planned a night of surprises for his bride-to-be. "He wanted to give me the fairy tale wedding," Kim, 35, said, adding that she knew nothing more than the location, time and date. "I didn't know the colors of my wedding or what my bouquet would look like! But I trusted his taste." A horse-drawn carriage picked up Kim for a brief tour around the vineyard of California's Charles Krug Winery before her debut in front of 160 friends and family members. "I cried when she walked down the aisle," says Irvine, 46. "She was jaw-dropping – this glow of beauty, wearing a dress with a long train. She looked so beautiful." And the surprises didn't end there: Chef Masaharu Morimoto serenaded the couple with a Japanese love song, and Kim enlisted the help of best man (and fellow Food Network star) Guy Fieri to cater a rehearsal dinner.

Michael McKean Mowed Down on New York Sidewalk | Michael McKean Michael McKean, the smiling redhead best known for playing Lenny in the '70s sitcom Laverne and Shirley and for his appearances in the satirical mockumentaries This Is Spinal Tap, Best in Show and A Mighty Wind, is in stable condition after being hit by a car on an Upper West Side Manhattan sidewalk Tuesday afternoon. McKean, 64, was being treated at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital for a broken leg and facial lacerations. "Hopefully, he'll be fine," his manager, Harriet Sternberg said. "He has sustained multiple injures," she said, "and we are trying to find out the extent of other injuries."Reports say the car went out of control before jumping the curb at 86th Street and Broadway as McKean was walking. Its impact reportedly knocked him from the pavement into the street, and he was seen coughing up blood. Police said no criminal charges were being filed. The actor lives on the Upper West Side with his wife, actress Annette O'Toole (Smallville), and is currently appearing in an all-star Broadway revival of Gore Vidal's The Best Man, with James Earl Jones and Angela Lansbury. "He's upset about missing his curtain," Sternberg said. "He's never missed a performance in his career."

Gillian Zinser will not be a part of 90210‘s fifth season. The casting news should come as little surprise considering Ivy was last seen running away to Mexico with her soon-to-be deported boyfriend, Diego, in the show’s season finale. It’s entirely possible Zinser could return as a guest star at some point, but that’s unlikely given how neatly her storyline wrapped up.

Usher Custody Trial Continues
Usher blasted his ex-wife in court testifying that Tameka Foster flew into a jealous rage, hitting him, throwing food, and worst of all spitting on his girlfriend. Usher took the stand in his ongoing child custody trial with his ex, and under questioning by his attorney, revealed how Tameka once went ballistic and "wanted to fight" ... when he showed up at her house with his new girlfriend. Usher testified Tameka walked to his car and said, "I'm gonna kick your ass. Bitch get out of the car. How dare you bring this woman into my subdivision in my house?" He added, "She continued to spit. At this point she pulled the door open, tried to swing at her." Usher claims he had to get out of the car and block Tameka ... who then hit him. Usher said he pleaded with Tameka to calm down, but claims "she threw a plate of food at the car" ... as he fled the situation.

3 charged in carjacking of pastor Marvin Winans

Three young men were arraigned Sunday in the assault and carjacking of popular Detroit pastor and gospel singing icon Marvin Winans. The office of Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy identified the suspects as Detroit residents Montoya Givens and Christopher Moorehead, both 20, and Brian K. Young, 18, of Macomb County's Clinton Township. They are charged with carjacking, unarmed robbery and conspiracy, said Maria Miller, Worthy's spokeswoman. The charges carry up to life in prison. The men appeared in Detroit's 36th District Court and were ordered held on $200,000 bonds. Their preliminary examinations, in which a judge decides where there's enough evidence for the case to go to trial, are June 1.  Winans, 54, was attacked Wednesday afternoon while pumping gas in Detroit. The robbers took his sport utility vehicle, Rolex watch, cash and credit cards.
