Lindsay Lohan and Dina Lohan Dispute Brings Police to Long Island Home
Police were called to Lohan's childhood home in Mineola, N.Y. on Wednesday morning after the actress was involved in an altercation with her mother, Dina. "At 8:06 a.m. [police] got a call for a domestic disturbance. There had been some sort of verbal dispute between Lindsay and her mother that took place in a limo that was coming from New York City," a spokesperson for the Nassau County Police Department says. "There were no arrests, no police action. It just goes down as a domestic incident. That is that – we don't have any [injuries or damage]." So what happened in the limo? A source said "At some point on the way home [from New York City], [Lindsay] wanted to get out of the car and the limo driver wouldn't let her out, so she called her father, who called 911." The 50-year-old's actress daughter, Lindsay Lohan, called her father, Michael Lohan, after leaving a New York nightclub around 4 a.m. on Oct. 10. The mother-daughter duo were in a limo en route to Dina's home in Long Island when Lindsay phoned her dad in a desperate plea for help. "She's throwing your f---ing kids out and she's threatening everyone in the car," a hysterical Lindsay shouted. "She's calling the cops on me!"Calling her mother "delusional," a sobbing Lindsay said the fight was about the $40,000 she lent her mother "because she needs to keep her house." "I was like, 'Give me money back! Give me my 40 grand back that I just gave you," the "Liz & Dick" star told her father, with whom she's been estranged in the past. "I asked her to give it back and she's like, 'You're sick. You don't give me anything. Your father doesn't do anything for child support.'" The former child star later accused her mother of being "on cocaine." "I have to go back to the house because I have to leave tomorrow. I have to work," Lindsay wailed. "I'm supposed to go home and I'm afraid she's going to do the same s--- that I was describing to you, arrest me like she did to you. ... She has been out all night, Dad." After they arrived in Long Island, law enforcement officials responded to a domestic violence call. A report was filed but no arrests were made. The Mentalist's Owain Yeoman and his girlfriend, jewelry designer Gigi Yallouz, are engaged. I’m glad I have a son because in the middle of a great sports season, I can share those big moments with him. If I had a daughter, she’d probably be doing the same thing, but she’d probably resent me a little more for it.” Through Tide’s photo sweepstakes, football fans can share photos documenting a time they were most proud to wear their team’s colors, the way Nick and Camden took their special picture. Photos can be uploaded through Nov. 30 for a chance to win an all expense-paid trip for two to Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans.
Romney agrees to stop sharing story about Glen Doherty
Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has agreed to stop sharing a story about his encounter with Winchester Navy SEAL Glen Doherty who was killed in the attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya after Doherty’s mother said she was upset Romney was using the story for his political agenda. Glen Doherty was one of four Americans killed in the September 11 attack on the U.S. consulate. “I met some remarkable people, one of whom was a former navy seal. I just learned a few days ago that he was one of the two former navy seals killed in Benghazi. It broke my heart,” Romney said to a crowd on the campaign trail. Romney met Doherty at a Christmas party. During a radio show interview, Doherty’s friend recounted a different version of Romney’s meeting with Doherty. “He actually approached him, using this private gathering as basically a political venture to further his image. And Glen just believed it to be very insincere and stale,” said Elf Ellefsen, Doherty’s friend. "I don't trust Romney. He shouldn't make my son's death part of his political agenda. It's wrong to use these brave young men, who wanted freedom for all, to degrade Obama,” said Barbara Doherty, Glen’s mother.Soul Asylum founder quits band
Soul Asylum co-founder Dan Murphy has quit the band after three decades. The guitarist, who formed the group with singer Dave Pirner and the late Karl Mueller in the early 1980s, announced his decision on the band's website on Tuesday, revealing he is "looking forward to a quieter life with family and friends." He writes, "To survive in the game of music in this current incarnation of digital downloads, short attention spans, tabloid-style press wrought with desperate headline grabbing antics, it occurs to me that one needs an unhealthy and combustive internal combination of two seemingly distant attributes -- naivety and swagger. I no longer have either." He adds he is "leaving with great admiration and respect for David Pirner, whom I felt like I grew up with and who provided me and all of you with so many memorable musical moments." Soul Asylum recently released their first album in six years, "Delayed Reaction."
NBC to Air Mockingbird Lane Pilot as Standalone Halloween Special
Mockingbird Lane, the pilot which was to be the premiere of NBC’s rebooted Munsters series, instead will air as a Halloween special. Rumors about the potential series’ demise have been around for weeks; as recently as Wednesday, writer/producer Bryan Fuller took to Twitter to say the project still had a pulse. But Fuller and director Bryan Singer had different visions for the $10 million pilot, and in the end, the network didn’t love the finished product. Complicating matters, Fuller is now committed to stewarding NBC’s midseason drama Hannibal, as well. However, according to an insider, if the special does well in the ratings NBC may go ahead and order it to series. NBC has billed Mockingbird Lane as “a visually spectacular one-hour drama” based on the 1960s sitcom. It stars Jerry O’Connell as Herman Munster, Portia de Rossi as his wife Lily and Eddie Izzard as Grandpa.
