The Killing's Mireille Enos to Play Brad Pitt's Wife in World War Z
The breakout star of The Killing has landed a role to die for. Mireille Enos — who plays lead homicide detective Sarah Linden on AMC’s addictive murder mystery — has formally signed on to costar opposite Brad Pitt in World War Z, Paramount’s upcoming adaptation of Max Brooks’ post-apocalyptic tome.

Broadcasters around the world breathed a sigh of relief as a dazzling display of pomp and ceremony in a uniquely British tradition as the wedding of the Century went off without a hitch. The BBC feed alone was broadcast to 180 countries, in what is thought to be the biggest television event in broadcast history. Networks from CCTV in China, NDTV in India, France 24, Al Jazeera English tore up their news schedules to carry the ceremony in real time, in addition to all the main U.S. networks.
Meredith Vieira, who has been rumored to be considering leaving her gig as co-host on the morning show, is indeed moving on, a network source says. "Meredith has decided she simply does not want to continue with the grind of a daily morning news show," says the source. "This isn't about leaving to tend to her family – it's about being done with the phase of her career that requires this sort of a daily, on-air commitment. This didn't come out of the blue and is something she's talked about for some time." Longtime Today show news anchor Ann Curry will reportedly take over as co-host once Vieira leaves.
Weeds‘ Nancy Botwin is in some serious trouble with the law when the Showtime dramedy returns for its seventh season on June 27.
Tens of thousands of Oprah Winfrey fans will descend on Chicago in May for what Harpo Productions is calling "Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular." Harpo announced Thursday that a star-studded show would tape May 17 at the United Center, just blocks away from Winfrey's studios. The tapings will air on May 23 and 24, before Winfrey's final episode of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" on May 25.
"Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre has reportedly come up with a way to continue the CBS comedy for a ninth season without the involvement of Charlie Sheen. Lorre's plan would refocus the show around Jon Cryer's character. Sheen was fired from the show in March. He's suing Lorre and "Men" producer Warner Bros. TV for breach of contract, but he's also said numerous times in the past couple months that he'd be open to the idea of returning to the series. Lorre and Warner Bros., however, are reportedly not interested in having him return to the series.
HBO’s political flick Game Change continues to round out its already stellar cast, adding Sarah Paulson (Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip) as John McCain’s senior campaign adviser and Peter MacNicol (Grey’s Anatomy) as the senator’s campaign manager.
NBC is said to be eyeing a 22-episode TV series based on John Grisham’s 1991 novel, The Firm. The pilot reportedly picks up 10 years after the 1993 big screen film (starring Tom Cruise) left off, with Mitch McDeere having just emerged from the Federal Witness Protection Program.
In his first CNN special since stepping down from his nightly talk show, Larry King visits a Las Vegas clinic where Alzheimer's disease is studied. He is accompanied by former President Ronald Reagan's son Ron. King's special, "Unthinkable: The Alzheimer's Epidemic," airs Sunday at 8 p.m. EDT/PDT on CNN. It features interviews with several celebrities touched by the disease, including Maria Shriver, whose father Sargent Shriver had it, and actor Seth Rogen. The mother of Rogen's fiancée was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at age 55, and he wanted to talk about it to make clear that not only old people are affected.
Lifetime has signed a multi-project development deal with Demi Moore. As part of their agreement, the cabler has picked up The Conversation, an interview series hosted by British TV personality Amanda de Cadenet.

Actress January Jones, who plays sullen housewife Betty Draper on the Emmy-award winning television drama "Mad Men," is about to become a single mother. Jones, 33, is expecting her first baby in the fall. The father's identity was not disclosed. She broke up with "Saturday Night" live actor Jason Sudeikis in January. Jones has had some practice being pregnant. Her "Mad Men" character delivered her third child during season 3 in 2009. But her real-life pregnancy means viewers might see even less of Jones when the show returns early next year. She had a low profile last season in the wake of Betty's divorce from advertising executive Don Draper, played by series star Jon Hamm.
