Marshall's wife called 911
Details surrounding the stabbing of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall remained foggy Monday despite the release of the 911 call made the night of the incident. It was hoped the Broward County Sheriff's Office's release of the call would shed more light after Marshall's wife, Michi Nogami-Marshall, allegedly stabbed him in the stomach with a kitchen knife. The caller, believed to be Nogami-Marshall, says, "Please come, it's an emergency." When the dispatcher responds, "Where?" the caller repeats herself, saying, "Please come, it's an emergency" before hanging up. The dispatcher's attempts to call back went unanswered. The conversation did not indicate whether the call took place after Marshall was stabbed or before the incident. The only certainty was that the call was made at 4:41pm local time Friday. Nogami-Marshall was arrested at 7:40 p.m.  Marshall was released from an intensive care unit Saturday after undergoing stomach surgery. The two-time Pro Bowl selection initially claimed he was hit with a vase before his wife reportedly confessed to the stabbing while telling police she acted in self-defense. The arresting officer wrote in his report that "both the victim and defendant provided scant information regarding the incident itself." Nogami-Marshall was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and domestic violence. She was released from a Broward County jail Saturday afternoon on a $7,500 bond.

Judge lifts NFL lockout; owners appeal

A federal judge in Minnesota granted players an injunction Monday to lift the NFL lockout, and NFL owners have already appealed the decision.  U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson ruled only on the injunction, not the entire case of Brady v. NFL. If Nelson or the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit in St. Louis doesn't grant the owners a stay, the 2011 season could start in theory. "We will promptly seek a stay from Judge Nelson pending an expedited appeal to the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. We believe that federal law bars injunctions in labor disputes," the NFL said in a statement. "We are confident that the Eighth Circuit will agree. But we also believe that this dispute will inevitably end with a collective bargaining agreement, which would be in the best interests of players, clubs and fans. We can reach a fair agreement only if we continue negotiations toward that goal." Late Monday, it was announced that the NFL appealed the decision to the Eighth Circuit. If there is no stay of Nelson's decision, free agency and other offseason business could begin. The rules under which free agency would be conducted aren't known. "This is a good ruling, for sure, but I never want to celebrate until it's actually over," NFLPA Players Association executive George Atallah said on Twitter. The owners locked out the players last month after the NFLPA decertified as a union after more than two weeks of federal mediation did not produce an agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement.

Robert Kazinsky quits 'The Hobbit'
Director Peter Jackson is scrambling to recast a role in the upcoming movie "The Hobbit" after British actor Robert Kazinsky quit due to "personal reasons." The star had signed up to play Fili, a member of the Company of Dwarves, in the Lord of the Rings prequel and recently flew to New Zealand to start filming his scenes.  Kazinsky has not confirmed the reason for his departure, only saying he is suffering a "health issue," and he has thanked Jackson for his understanding. He writes on Twitter, "Thanks for all your support, Peter and team have been the most wonderful and supportive team to work for and it's with a truly sad heart that things have turned out this way. 'The Hobbit' will go on to be as great as I've seen and I will miss the family and friends that I've [made] here. From every disaster I've tried to make an opportunity. ... It's a health issue. ... All will be well in time, promise!"

Eminem to release EP with Royce da 5'9"
Eminem plans to release an EP of new material that he recorded with fellow Detroit rapper Royce da 5'9". The pair first worked together in the late 1990s, calling themselves Bad Meets Evil, with Royce da 5'9" as the "bad" and Eminem as the "evil" half of the duo. One of the songs they recorded in those days, called "Bad Meets Evil," appeared on Eminem's major label debut, "The Slim Shady LP." The new material will be released June 14 on Shady/Interscope Records.

Levi Johnston Writes Palins Tell-All
Levi Johnston's penchant for self-exposure apparently isn't limited to those beefcake pics he posed for in "Playgirl." The baby daddy of Sarah Palin's grandson, Tripp is penning a tell-all book that will reveal his side of his contentious relationship with the former Vice Presidential candidate and her brood. The book, titled "Deer in the Headlights: My Life in Sarah Palin's Crosshairs," will be released this fall by Touchstone Publishing.  In a statement released by Touchstone, "I want to tell the truth about my close relationship with the Palins ... My sense of Sarah and my perplexing fall from grace -- how I feel and what I've learned." Johnston first came into the limelight in August 2008, when it was revealed that Palin's daughter, Bristol -- then 17 -- was pregnant with his child. Johnston and Bristol's on-again, off-again relationship has included two abandoned engagements, and many public squabbles between himself and the Palin family. Johnston, a high-school dropout, currently plans to run for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska in the city's November 2011 election.

TV NEWS
Katie Couric will announce this week that she is exiting "CBS Evening News," ending months of expectations that she will leave the show she has anchored for five years, according to a person familiar with the plan. Couric will not, however, announce a departure from CBS, because she may continue to work with the network's news division or on a syndicated show, the person said. Couric's contract with CBS ends June 4, and the exit strategy would allow a full month for a smooth transition. "60 Minutes" correspondent Scott Pelley is expected to take her place.

Fey kicks off SNL‘s batch of all-new episodes on May 7 accompanied by U.K. songstress Ellie Goulding. And popstar-turned-actor-turned-SNL staple Timberlake will close out the season with Lady Gaga by his side.

Chase heroine Kelli Giddish has tracked down a multi-episode arc on CBS’ The Good Wife. Giddish will appear in this season’s final two episodes playing what is being described as a provocative role — an investigator for Lockhart Gardner who used to work with Kalinda (Archie Panjabi). There’s buzz Giddish may return in the fall — assuming The Good Wife is back next fall. CBS has yet to renew the acclaimed drama for a third season.

Donald Trump fires back at Robert De Niro: 'He's not the brightest bulb'
Having gained the support of noted intellectual giant Gary Busey, Donald Trump has now deemed Robert De Niro less than bright for for dissing his plan to run for president. The dispute between the acting giant and the curiously coiffed real-estate mogul began over the weekend at the Tribeca Film Festival, when De Niro dismissed Trump's potential run for the White House as "crazy." The Oscar-winning actor told NBC News anchor Brian Williams, "I won't mention names, but there are certain people on the news in the last couple of weeks -- what they're doing is crazy ... They're making statements about people that they don't even back up. Go get the facts before you start saying things about people."  An irate Trump fired back at De Niro during an interview with "Fox & Friends" Monday morning, calling De Niro's intelligence into question.
"Well he's not the brightest bulb on the planet," Trump opined during the phone interview. "I've been watching him over the years, and I like his acting, but you know in terms of when I watch him doing interviews and various other things, we're not dealing with Albert Einstein."
