LeBron's mother arrested at Miami hotel
The mother of Miami Heat basketball star LeBron James was arrested by Miami Beach police after she reportedly assaulted a valet worker because it was taking too long to have her car delivered. Police said Gloria James had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and her eyes were bloodshot when officers arrived at the hotel about 4:47 a.m. Thursday. She was released with a promise to appear on charges of simple battery and disorderly conduct. ''It's a sensitive subject,'' LeBron James said after the Heat practiced Thursday afternoon. ''It's a personal matter. It's being taken care of.'' Police said several witnesses supported valet worker Sorel Rockfeller's account of the alleged assault. LeBron James said people are helping his mother with the situation, and that he was not at the hotel with her early Thursday. ''You have to move forward,'' the NBA's two-time reigning MVP said. ''It is my life and there's certain things you have to deal with. You try not to let it be a distraction. I have a job to do, still.'' Gloria James pleaded no contest to DUI and other charges in 2006. It's unclear if she has retained an attorney.Minaj in talks to join Spears on tour

Dish Wins Court Approval for $320 Million Blockbuster Deal
Satellite TV provider Dish Network's $320 million acquisition of video rental firm Blockbuster won approval from a judge in bankruptcy court. Judge Burton Lifland gave the deal a green light, according to a Blockbuster spokesman. The deal approval comes as Wall Street continued to discuss the risks and benefits of owning Blockbuster, whose customer base and financials have been in decline amid the rise of Netflix and other alternatives. Blockbuster chairman and CEO Jim Keyes, who some observers have said is likely to leave the company after a sale, said: “We are pleased to have reached this important milestone in the ongoing transformation of Blockbuster. The combination of Dish Network with Blockbuster’s multi-channel offering will ultimately provide our combined subscribers and customers the most convenient access to an outstanding entertainment experience.” Dish shares closed at $23.95, down 1.5%Update on Michael Jackson Trial

Time Warner Cable Asks Court to Rule on iPad App
Time Warner Cable has asked the legal system to weigh in on the squabble it is having with Viacom over an app that lets subscribers watch live TV on their iPads. In a request for declaratory judgment filed Thursday, TWC is hoping a court forces Viacom to allow TWC subscribers to watch several of Viacom’s channels, including Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon and CMT, on their iPad devices while in their homes. TWC launched its iPad app wide on March 16, and it was downloaded 360,000 times, but Viacom, Fox and Discovery quickly told TWC to yank their content from the offering. TWC obliged, but now it seeks legal guidance as to whether Viacom might be breaching its carriage agreement by demanding TWC allow its subscribers to view Viacom’s channels on traditional TV sets but not on an iPad. A spokeswoman for TWC did not explain why the complaint, filed with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, only addresses Viacom and not Discovery or Fox. Meanwhile, since TWC took down several channels last month, it has been steadily adding new ones from various providers. Some of the most recent additions to the app include four ESPN channels as well as Oxygen, Lifetime, History International, Biography and ReelzChannel.

In an open letter to the public, Hatch says he can prove his innocence if someone will just lend him $300,000 bucks! Bravo confirms that it has pulled the plug on "The Real Housewives of D.C." The series, which featured infamous crasher Michaele Salahi, as well as Mary Schmidt Amons, Lynda Erkiletian, Stacie Turner and Catherine Ommanney, had a promising first season last year. It averaged 1.1 million total viewers to become the second-highest rated first season in the "Real Housewives" franchise. The show might have fallen victim to competition from its counterparts in other cities -- with six other "Housewives" series, including the recently launched "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," it was a crowded field for shrill cat-fighting and back-stabbing.
Don't worry: just because "Jersey Shore" breakouts Paul "DJ Pauly D" Delvecchio, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jenni "JWoww" Farley are spreading their wings with new spinoff series doesn't mean that the show that started it all won't still be around. According to MTV, the upcoming fourth season of "Jersey Shore" is going ahead as scheduled, with all of the celebrated, self-identified guidos and guidettes on board for the next adventure -- which, this time around, involves a trip to Italy.
