Lumet, '12 Angry Men' and 'Network' director, dies
Sidney Lumet, the award-winning director of such acclaimed films as "Network," "Serpico," "Dog Day Afternoon" and "12 Angry Men," has died. He was 86. Lumet's death was confirmed Saturday by Marc Kusnetz, who is the husband of Lumet's stepdaughter, Leslie Gimbel. He said Lumet died during the night and had suffered from lymphoma. "Network," a scathing view of the television business, proved to be Lumet's most memorable film and created an enduring catch phrase when crazed newscaster Peter Finch exhorted his audience to raise their windows and shout, "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!" His final film was 2007's "Before the Devil Knows Your Dead," starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Ethan Hawke and Marisa Tomei. His first three marriages ended in divorce: to actress Rita Gam, heiress Gloria Vanderbilt and Lena Horne's daughter, Gail Jones. In 1980, he married journalist Mary Gimbel.

The new pacts, which are for one year with an option for a second, pave the way for ABC to renew the show for an eighth season. The quartet’s new base salary would be around $325,000 per episode, up from the $275,000 they had been earning. With additional compensation factored in, including back-end and bonuses, the actresses’ paychecks are expected to soar to $375,000 per episode. If their option for Season 9 is exercised, their base salary is slated to go up to $350,000. All told, the two-year deal could net the ladies as much as $18 million apiece.

Make no mistake, Danny Glover is still not too old for this sh…tuff called acting. Not by a stretch. And the Lethal Weapon vet’s latest gig is on TNT’s Leverage. In the fifth episode of the sleuthing drama’s upcoming fourth season, Glover will guest-star as a retired war veteran who “acquired a piece of art that has a little bit of a mystery story behind it.”  “We get involved to try to help him recover it.” Hodge says that in a break from style for the TNT series, large sections of Glover’s episode will be narrated by his character, “so we see the majority of the story through his eyes.” Leverage premieres the first, 10-episode stretch of its fourth season on Sunday, June 26.

MSHA also cited Cobalt for moving the continuous mining machine when it wasn't cutting coal and allowing a worker to walk alongside. Sheen booed off stage in New York
Charlie Sheen left the stage 30 minutes early at his show in New York on Friday night after audience members heckled him throughout the performance. The former "Two and a Half Men" star is currently travelling the U.S. with his My Violent Torpedo Of Truth/Death Is Not An Option tour. The performances have received mixed reactions from audiences, and the crowd at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall was less than impressed with Sheen. During the show, Sheen received boos from the audience after declaring he had quit drugs. The actor went on to fuel his public war of words with "Two and a Half Men" creator Chuck Lorre by daring the TV boss to join him onstage at the venue on Sunday. He said, "(Let's) work this s--- out. Of course I want my job back man!" Sheen also poked fun at his director Oliver Stone, joking, "I'll buy an Academy Award from Oliver Stone 'cause he's now broke. His movies now suck! Anyone seen 'Wall Street 2'?" The Web site reports the actor's jokes fell flat -- he was scheduled for a 75 minute slot, but left the stage after just 45 minutes due to heckling from the audience.
