Naked man arrested near Orlando Bloom's house

A naked man has been arrested outside Orlando Bloom's home. The nude individual lay flat on the road and allegedly shouted he was "high on drugs" as officers arrived to detain him near the Hollywood mansion of the Lord of the Rings star and his wife Miranda Kerr, who have 17-month-old son Flynn together. But when policemen tried to arrest the unidentified man, he dived head-first into bushes in an attempt to avoid officers. The policemen put on black gloves before eventually wrestling the man to the ground, and he was handcuffed with his hands behind his back and driven away.  \It is not known who called the police to the Los Angeles neighbourhood, which is also close to the homes of Charlize Theron, Will Ferrell, Jason Statham and Laura Dern.

Lauryn Hill says she stopped paying federal taxes after withdrawing from society for 'safety' reason

Reclusive singer Lauryn Hill said in an Internet posting Friday that she hasn't paid taxes since she withdrew from society to guarantee the safety and well-being of herself and her family. The eight-time Grammy Award winner and South Orange, N.J., resident was charged this week with willfully failing to file income tax returns with the Internal Revenue Service. Federal prosecutors said she didn't pay taxes on more than $1.5 million earned in 2005, 2006 and 2007 from recording and film royalties. Hill responded to the federal charges in a lengthy post on her Tumblr page Friday. She described how she has rejected pop culture's "climate of hostility, false entitlement, manipulation, racial prejudice, sexism and ageism." "Over-commercialization and its resulting restrictions and limitations can be very damaging and distorting to the inherent nature of the individual," Hill wrote. "I did not deliberately abandon my fans, nor did I deliberately abandon any responsibilities, but I did however put my safety, health and freedom and the freedom, safety and health of my family first over all other material concerns! I also embraced my right to resist a system intentionally opposing my right to whole and integral survival." She said in her online post that she explained herself to authorities when she was questioned by authorities about her failure to pay taxes. "My intention has always been to get this situation rectified. When I was working consistently without being affected by the interferences mentioned above, I filed and paid my taxes," she wrote. "This only stopped when it was necessary to withdraw from society, in order to guarantee the safety and well-being of myself and my family." A spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney's Office for New Jersey, which filed the tax charges, said in response to Hill's posting Friday that they could not speak to the specifics of the investigation. The 37-year-old Hill got her start with the Haitian-American hip-hop band the Fugees. She began her solo career in 1998 with the critically acclaimed album "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill."

Jail affecting Mayweather's health?

Lawyers for Floyd Mayweather Jr. say the undefeated champion is getting out of shape in solitary confinement and may never fight again if he's not released from the cramped Las Vegas jail cell where he began serving a three-month sentence earlier this month. In an emergency motion filed Monday, lawyers asked the court to move him into the general jail population — something that jail officials had avoided out of fear for the celebrity's safety — or put him in house arrest for the rest of his sentence. The jail's ''conduct may cause, not just huge financial harm to Mr. Mayweather, but also huge emotional harm if he is no longer able to pursue his boxing career because of the deconditioning he has suffered,'' lawyers wrote. Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa said she'll decide later this week whether to ease jail conditions for Mayweather.  Las Vegas police Officer Bill Cassell declined to comment on the specific claims in the motion, but said jail administrators were keeping Mayweather in isolation to prevent fights. Mayweather lawyer Richard Wright said he'd be willing to have the boxer serve the sentence in an apartment or somewhere less luxurious than Mayweather's posh Las Vegas-area home. ''I'm not looking for special treatment for Floyd Mayweather,'' Wright said. ''I'm looking for fair treatment.'' But prosecutor Lisa Luzaich said softening the sentence would be just another accommodation, similar to when Mayweather's jail surrender date was postponed for months after sentencing so he could fight Miguel Cotto in May. ''They keep chipping away, chipping away, chipping away,'' Luzaich said. Mayweather pleaded guilty in December to misdemeanor domestic battery and no contest to two harassment charges that stemmed from an attack on his ex-girlfriend while two of their children watched. He was sentenced to three months and entered the jail June 1.

Lindsay Claims Brakes Failed
Lindsay Lohan is now telling friends the brakes on her rented Porsche didn't work and that's why she slammed into the back of an 18-wheeler. in the moments following the accident, Lindsay claimed the semi-truck cut her off ... and that is what caused the accident. The driver of the truck says that was not the case and has witnesses to back up his tale. James, the truck driver, says he couldn't have cut Lindsay off because he was already in the right lane when the accident occurred. James previously said Lindsay's people tried to bribe him at the scene of the accident in an effort to keep him quiet about the whole thing. James says a driver of an Escalade and Lindsay's assistant put on a full court press: "Him and the guy took me across the street and told me this was some kind of famous person and they didn't want to be in the media. But I'd already called 911 because they were trying to get away from the scene." James says he wanted to exchange info with Lindsay (whom he did not recognize) but it was apparent to him she was about to flee the scene.

Cake Drummer's Wife Files for Divorce After Molestation Trial
Peter McNeal -- former drummer for the band Cake -- narrowly avoided a conviction for child molestation last month, but he couldn't avoid divorce papers from his wife of 13 years.  Jill McNeal cites "irreconcilable differences" -- and she's asking the court for sole physical custody of their two children, ages 10 and 8.Peter was accused of molesting a 3-year-old girl at a Thanksgiving dinner back in 2009. A judge declared a mistrial last month after a jury was deadlocked 11-1 against McNeal. In the docs, Jill says she's cool with Peter having visitation rights, and joint legal custody of the kids. However, she is asking the court to deny him the right to any spousal support. McNeal's molestation case might be retried, he's due back in court in August.

Kate Walsh leaving 'Private Practice'
Kate Walsh will quit her hit medical drama "Private Practice" after its upcoming sixth season. The star has been portraying Dr. Addison Montgomery in the "Grey's Anatomy" spin-off since its premiere in 2007, but she is preparing to hang up her stethoscope for good once filming wraps on the latest run of the TV show. She says "This is my last season for Private Practice. It's been an incredible journey, an amazing ride. I'm hugely, hugely grateful. "It's been a long time being Addison and I feel incredibly grateful to (creator) Shonda Rhimes and all the fans that have been there from day one to now, but I'm really excited about the last season.  "It's bittersweet. It's a huge chapter of my life, it's been eight years."  Walsh first starred as Dr. Montgomery in episodes of Grey's Anatomy in 2005.  It is not known whether network bosses at ABC, which airs the show, will continue "Private Practice" without Walsh.

Chyler Leigh Speaks Out
actress Chyler Leigh has come forth to clear the air about her shocking departure from Grey’s Anatomy, which killed off Lexie Grey in the Season 8 finale. “Earlier this year, I made the decision that Season 8 would be my last,” Leigh shares. “I met with [series creator] Shonda [Rhimes] and we worked together to give Lexie’s story appropriate closure.” Leigh, who joined Grey’s full-time in Season 4 after introducing us to Lexie at the close of Season 3, was partly MIA from the start of the show’s most recent season, after Rhimes granted her an extended summer hiatus to spend time with her family. (Leigh and husband Nathan West have three children, ages 8, 5-1/2 and 3.) The night that the Grey’s finale aired, Rhimes went on Twitter to explain, among other things, that killing off Lexie “was not an easy decision. But it was a decision that Chyler and I came to together. We had a lot of thoughtful discussion about it and ultimately we both decided this was the right time for her character’s journey to end.”

TV NEWS
NBC has finally found someone to play the wife of Herman Munster in NBC’s reboot of the classic black and white comedy The Munsters. Portia de Rossi! De Rossi joins the previously cast Jerry O’Connell (The Defenders) as the matriarch and patriarch of Mockingbird Lane, the name of Bryan Fuller’s dramatic re-imagining of the old show that starred Fred Gywnne as Herman and Yvonne De Carlo as Lily. The pilot is in development for a possible midseason berth on NBC.

Margarita Levieva, who plays the thorn — pun intended! — in Emily’s side on Revenge, will appear in at least seven of the first 14 episodes in Season 2. Levieva’s deal to return to the ABC hit comes after Amanda dropped a bomb in the closing minutes of last month’s finale — she’s preggers, and Jack’s the daddy (or is he?)!

Andy Samberg isn’t jumping ship from television, but he is jumping across the pond: The comedian, who just completed a seven-year run on Saturday Night Live, will star in Cuckoo, a six-part comedy series on BBC Three also featuring Greg Davies (The Inbetweeners), the London-based network announced today. Samberg will play a New Age-y slacker who marries the daughter (Tamia Kari) of two parents (Davies and Helen Baxendale) who are less than thrilled to welcome this hippie into their home. His character is described as both “square-jawed, self-appointed spiritual ninja” and “every parent’s worst nightmare.”

Hugh Laurie is in talks to play the big baddie in the remake of RoboCop, playing the head of the sinister company responsible for transforming a clinging-to-life police officer (The Killing‘s Joel Kinnaman) into a cyborg crime fighter. Gary Oldman, Abbie Cornish, and Samuel L. Jackson co-star in the film, directed by Jose Padilha.

Former Chuck star Yvonne Strahovski has booked a killer follow-up role. The actress scored a multi-episode arc on season 7 of Dexter, playing a woman who helps Miami Metro Homicide solve some cold cases. But casting scoop warns: There’s more to Hanna McKay (Strahovski) than meets the eye, and Dexter (Michael C. Hall) is the first to suspect it.
