High school football player found dead

A suburban Southern California high school was stricken with grief Tuesday following the death of a popular varsity football player whose father is 10-year NFL veteran Erik Kramer. Griffen Kramer, a backup quarterback on the Thousand Oaks High School football team, died Sunday night at a friend's home, according to a statement issued by his school. It said Kramer, 18, failed to wake after going to bed. ''Although the cause of death isn't official, initial indications suggest his passing was due to alcohol poisoning,'' the statement said. Principal Lou Lichtl declined to elaborate pending final autopsy results. Lichtl said Kramer's death stunned the tight-knit suburban campus northwest of Los Angeles. He said students spent a good part of Monday visiting a grief room where they exchanged reminisces about Kramer and made cards in his memory. ''Griffen had a wonderful personality, he was a very endearing young man and he'll be greatly missed,'' the principal said. His father played 10 years in the NFL, including five seasons with the Chicago Bears. Now a color analyst for Bears preseason broadcasts, he set single-season team records in 1995 for pass attempts (522), completions (315) and yards passing (3,838). He also holds the Bears' record for lifetime passer rating at 80.7. He also played for the Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions and San Diego Chargers. He retired after the 1999 season. In addition to his father, Griffen Kramer is survived by his mother and a younger brother.

Scarlett Johansson talks about her leaked nude photos

Just a few weeks after stolen nude photos leaked on the Internet at the hand of accused hacker Christopher Chaney (he has since been arrested, apologized, and said he plans to plead guilty to all charges), Scarlett Johansson told CNN that the “unjust” incident felt “wrong.” The pictures in question, however? Johansson definitely doesn’t see anything wrong with those. In an interview with Vanity Fair, which she graces the cover of for their December issue, the actress said succinctly of the photos, “I know my best angles.” She went on to say that the pictures had a specific intended audience of one, “They were sent to my husband (ex Ryan Reynolds),” adding, “There’s nothing wrong with that.” Johansson defended her photos again, telling VF, “It’s not like I was shooting a porno. Although there’s nothing wrong with that either.” Johansson also discusses her friendship with Woody Allen, her feelings on President Barack Obama and her divorce from Reynolds “I had a very public separation. It was difficult. I felt very uncomfortable."

Kim Kardashian: I Married for Love – Not TV

Kim Kardashian has a message for anyone who questions her motives for marrying Kris Humphries – and then filing for divorce just 72 days later. "I married for love," the reality star writes in a new blog post on her website. "I would not have spent so much time on something just for a TV show!" Kardashian and Humphries tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in August that was taped for Keeping Up with the Kardashians. On Monday, she filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences." But it's the televised wedding – not the divorce – she now feels was a mistake. "I share so much of my life on a reality show, that contemplating whether to even film my wedding was a tough decision to make, and maybe it turned out to not be the smartest decision," she writes. "I felt like I was on a fast roller coaster and couldn’t get off when now I know I probably should have." "I got caught up with the hoopla," the post continues, "and the filming of the TV show that when I probably should have ended my relationship, I didn't know how to and didn't want to disappoint a lot of people." Kardashian, who jetted to Australia Monday to launch a new line of purses, explains that her decision to call it quits – which "devastated" her husband – was tough but, ultimately, the right one to make. "I'm a hopeless romantic! I love with all of my heart and soul. I want a family and babies and a real life so badly that maybe I rushed in to something too soon," she writes on her blog. "I have to follow my heart. I never had the intention of hurting anybody and I accept full responsibility for my actions and decisions, and for taking everyone on this journey with me." Continues the post: "It just didn't turn out to be the fairy tale I had so badly hoped for."

Edelman arrested on assault charge

New England Patriots receiver Julian Edelman's agent says his client will ''vigorously'' fight a charge that he groped a woman during a Halloween party at a Boston nightclub. At a brief court hearing Tuesday, a not guilty plea was entered for Edelman to a charge of indecent assault and battery. According to an application for the criminal complaint, police were called about 1:30 a.m. to the club, where a woman said the 25-year-old Edelman had reached under her costume and grabbed her crotch. Edelman denied to police that he groped the woman, but was arrested. The Patriots later released a statement from agent Don Yee, who said the charge ''will be fought vigorously within the court system, instead of a rush to judgment elsewhere.''
