Ramirez arrested in Florida Former All-Star slugger Manny Ramirez is in police custody after being arrested tonight in Broward County, Fla., a law enforcement source confirmed. The official said Ramirez was being booked at the jail shortly before 9p but declined to specify the charges against him. Two unnamed witnesses said Ramirez was involved in an altercation with his wife at his home in Weston, Fla. Ramirez, 39, retired from baseball earlier this year following a second positive test for performance-enhancing drugs. His use of banned substances, which came to light late in his career, has called into question achievements that would have otherwise resulted in election to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Ramirez was the 2004 World Series MVP, made 12 All-Star teams, and hit 555 home runs in a 19-year career.

Salma Hayek's Husband Speaks Out About Child-Support Case
Salma Hayek's husband has broken his silence in the big-money child support dispute over his child with supermodel Linda Evangelista. François-Henri Pinault is refuting claims by Evangelista's lawyer that the French businessman has been "paying zero" toward raising the now-4-year-old boy. Evangelista is seeking $46,000 a month in support. Pinault says that he has "recognized" the boy since 2007 and that "at every possible opportunity he has participated in my family life whether in France or the United States." "He is totally integrated within my family," says Pinault, adding that this relationship has extended to his sister Valentina, the child Pinault fathered with Hayek in 2007. Augustin was born in October 2006, eight months after Pinault had been separated from Evangelista and around the time that Pinault started dating Hayek. They were married in 2009.

Former Disney Star Busted for DUI

Shelby Cobra , lead singer of the now-defunct Disney girl band KSM , was arrested early Friday morning for driving under the influence -- and according to our sources ... her blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit. Cobra is only 18 years old. Law enforcement sources said Cobra, real name Shelby Spalione, was spotted in Studio City driving a 2005 Ford F150 with the dome light on and a passenger who was not only not wearing a seat belt, but was sitting sideways. We're told when cops pulled the car over, they detected alcohol on Shelby's breath and administered a blood alcohol test ... which registered a whopping 0.15%. She was arrested and booked into Van Nuys jail at around 2:00 AM. Shelby was released just before 11:00 AM on her own recognizance. KSM was originally formed as a kids version of  a Go-Go's cover band. Shelby joined the group later on and the focus shifted from pop to rock. The band broke up in 2010.

Whitney Houston hasn’t made a movie since 1996′s The Preacher’s Wife, but it's confirmed she’s in negotiations to head back to the big screen — in a big way — with the Sony remake of the 1976 movie-musical Sparkle, which is very loosely based on the story of the Supremes.American Idol season 6 winner Jordin Sparks and comedian Mike Epps are already attached to the cast. The 1976 Sparkle — which starred Irene Cara, Mary Alice, and Tony King — centered on the three, Supremes-esque Williams sisters, who rose up from their Harlem church choir into a successful girl group only to have their dreamy fame ruin their personal lives. Sparks is set to play the title character, Sparkle; Houston would play Sparks’ unimpressed mother; and Epps would play Satin, a comedian who marries one of the Williams sisters.
