Leader of Toots and the Maytals injured at concert
Officials say the leader of the reggae band Toots and the Maytals was injured when a 19-year-old man threw a bottle and hit the singer during a concert in Richmond. Police said Sunday the man has been charged with aggravated assault. Authorities have not identified him. The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that Frederick "Toots" Hibbert was treated at a hospital for a cut to his head and released. Hibbert was hit by a glass bottle thrown from the crowd Saturday night as the band was performing at the Dominion Riverrock outdoor sports and music festival. The band stopped playing after he was hit. Festival organizers say Hibbert was in good spirits despite the traumatic event and regretted that the concert had to be stopped early.

Mary J. Blige's Tax Troubles
Mary J. Blige's financial woes have QUADRUPLED -- on top of the $900k she allegedly owes the Garden State, MJB has been slapped with a $3.4 MILLION bill from Uncle Sam. The IRS filed a federal tax lien against the Grammy winner, claiming she failed to pay all her income taxes for the years 2009 ($574,907.30), 2010 ($2,203,743.53) and 2011 ($647,604.60). Tax bill grand total: $3,426,255.43. Translation: A LOT OF FREAKING MONEY. Of course, the IRS needs to get in line ... the State of NJ says MJB still owes $901,769.65 in back taxes. Blige is being sued for allegedly defaulting on a $2.2 million bank loan and her charity is facing a lawsuit that claims it took out a $250k loan and never paid it back.

HEAVY D'S BROTHER REQUESTS CONTROL OVER LATE STAR'S ESTATE
Heavy D's brother has filed legal papers to gain control of the late singer's estate. Floyd Myers, who previously served as the hip-hop star's business manager, claims the "Now That We Found Love" hitmaker wrote a will in 1999 which left everything to his sibling. He reportedly lost the document years ago, but Myers has since found his copy and is now asking a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge to appoint him executor of Heavy D's estate, which included $320,000 in listed assets. However, Floyd's lawyer says the court request is simply a formality to clear the title on a condominium the brothers co-owned so it can be sold off. Heavy D, real name Dwight Arrington Myers, died from a pulmonary embolism outside his Los Angeles home in November 2011 at age 44 -- before he could update his will to include his daughter, who was born in 2000.

'Star Trek Into Darkness' blasts off with a $70.6 million weekend
The USS Enterprise picked up steam throughout the weekend, despite a somewhat unimpressive start. The first Star Trek of the Abrams era opened in early May of 2009 and made an impressive $75.2 million on its first weekend out of the gates, without the benefit of 3-D surcharges. This newest film is showing in 336 IMAX 3-D theaters, whereas the first showed in 138 IMAX venues — accounting for $8.5 million in ticket sales on its first weekend. Iron Man 3 continues to do well at the box office in spite of the new competition from Star Trek Into Darkness, making an estimated $35.2 million in its third weekend in theaters. This brings its domestic total to $337.1 million. The Great Gatsby took the No. 3 spot with a $23.4 million weekend, bringing its domestic total to an estimated $90.2 million.
1. Star Trek Into Darkness — $70.6 million (3-day)
2. Iron Man 3 — $35.2 million
3. The Great Gatsby –$23.4 million
4. Pain and Gain — $3.1 million
5. The Croods — $2.8 million
Chely Wright Welcomes Twins George Samuel and Everett Joseph It’s blue times two for Chely Wright. The country singer and her wife, music executive Lauren Blitzer Wright, welcomed identical twin sons on Saturday, May 18 in New York City, her rep says. Although they weren’t due until this summer, George Samuel and Everett Joseph — who are named for their great-grandfathers – are thriving, the rep says. “We are grateful for all the amazing medical care and the love and support of family and friends,” Wright, 42, says. The couple, who announced the pregnancy in January, revealed the sex of the twins in March.

Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart Split...Again
There have been recent signs of trouble in paradise for newly-split couple, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.  The exes, who were inseparable just weeks ago, grew distant since Pattinson returned from New York to Los Angeles on May 8.  "They again went from spending every second together, to spending more time apart at their separate houses," a source says. "Kristen has been in a terrible mood, and it was obvious that things were not great with Rob."  A major sign pointing to the demise of their romance was the absence of Stewart, 23, on May 13, the date of Pattinson's 27th birthday. "It was very strange that they didn't celebrate Rob's birthday together," the source says. "He had friends over at his house, but Kristen was not part of the celebration. For the past few days, they have not spent any time together."  Reacting the same as when they last split after Stewart's fling with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, the source says the actress once again "[hasn't left] her house for days, but [has] surrounded herself with friends 24/7."

Kordell Stewart Locks RHOA Out of House
Kordell Stewart really doesn't wanna see his estranged wife Porsha Williams anymore ... 'cause the ex-NFL star just changed the locks on the family home to keep her out according to Porsha. The "Real Housewives of ATL" star just filed new docs in her divorce war with Kordell and it appears the nasty split just got even NASTIER. According to the docs, filed in family court in Georgia, Porsha claims Kordell has locked her out of their residence on multiple occasions ... and she had to have her lawyer beg Kordell's people for a key. Sources close to the situation say Kordell isn't playing ball -- and hasn't forked over a key. But there's more ... according to the docs, Porsha tried to work things out with Kordell in a mediation session, but she claims he blew the whole thing off ... and called it a "waste of everyone's time." Porsha wants a judge to force Kordell to either allow her to use the house ... or pay her enough cash so she can get a "suitable alternative residence." Porsha is currently living with her mom in ATL -- guess she feels it's just not a "suitable residence" for a grown woman.

Angelina's Brave Decision – and Her Next Surgery
The actress, 37, has experienced no complications since undergoing a double mastectomy in February and reconstructive surgery in April. "She is doing well," a source says.  But her medical odyssey is not done. The mother of six is also planning to undergo surgery to remove her ovaries. Because of her "faulty" BRCA1 gene, she still faces a high risk of developing ovarian cancer, which her doctors estimate at 50 percent. Some doctors recommend patients undergo the surgery by age 40 or when a woman is done having children, though it may trigger early menopause.  For now, though, the actress and her fiancé, Brad Pitt, have been focused on maintaining a sense of routine for their kids – keeping up family traditions such as a Valentine's Day gift exchange and an Easter egg hunt while Jolie was undergoing treatment.  In the weeks surrounding the surgeries, "life was normal" for the children, says a source, and they didn't notice anything amiss.

A new Mo'Nique! The 45-year-old "Precious" actress has dramatically changed her lifestyle with intense, daily workouts to get in shape -- and it's paid off in a big way. In a new interview with "The Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg Show" on New York's Hot 97 FM, Mo'Nique explained that husband Sidney Hicks was the one who encouraged her to change her habits. "It made me say [to myself], 'OK, sis, you got these babies. The twins [Jonathan and David] are 7, [stepson] Michael's 9, Shalon's 22.' And I want to meet their babies. So, I said, 'Let me stop being selfish, and eating everything.' And I ate everything. ... I was a food junkie." Now, the Oscar-winning actress has been documenting her daily workouts in pictures on Twitter, and writing inspirational messages in hopes that others will join her. "We can always get a quick fix. However what will be the long term effects," she wrote on Wednesday. "Do it naturally, benefits . . . PRICELESS." Mo'Nique mixes up her workouts by lifting weights, running, doing yoga, playing basketball and other activities. She also documents on Twitter that she's taken a minimum of 10,000 steps, and done 50 sit-ups per day.  Mo'Nique said she currently weighs 218 pounds after "tipping 300" when she starred in the 1999 sitcom "The Parkers." "My goal is between 190 and 200," she shared, but she's already very pleased with her results.

Will Smith: ‘No Emancipation For The Smith Kids’
Will Smith and his son, Jaden Smith, are clearing up emancipation rumors.Following a report that Jaden, 14, was looking to become legally free from his parents, the father-son duo (who are also “After Earth” co-stars) set the record straight on Wednesday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” “I just heard you are trying to become emancipated, is that right?” the talk show host asked Jaden. “See, here is the thing that you need to understand — I’m not going anywhere,” Jaden said. “The thing that people don’t get is everything at this house is free. So I can get anything and everything at his house so I’m going to be there 20, 30 more years,” he continued. Things might change once Jaden’s film career takes off. “He says as soon as I have a movie that’s bigger than one of his movies, I can get my own house,” he said with a laugh. So how did the emancipation story even get started?  “I think I made a joke in Tokyo. I mean, my baby boy he’s never leaving me, ever,” Will told Ellen. “No emancipation for the Smith kids.”

Kelly Rowland reveals Beyonce jealousy, abusive relationship in 'Dirty Laundry'
Kelly Rowland has dropped a new single, titled "Dirty Laundry," off her upcoming solo album "Talk a Good Game." The lyrics of the song are an honest retelling of some hard times the singer went through, dealing with jealousy of her fellow Destiny's Child singer Beyonce and a man she was in an abusive relationship with.  Here are a few of the lyrics:

Let's do this dirty laundry, this dirty laundry
Let's do this dirty laundry, this dirty laundry

When you soak in tears for years it never airs out
When you make pain look this good it never wears out
This dirty laundry, this dirty laundry

While my sister was on stage, killing it like a motherf***er
I was enraged feeling it like a motherf***er

Bird in a cage, you would never know what I was dealing with
We went our separate ways, but I was happy she was killing it

Bittersweet, she was up, I was down,
No lie, I feel good or her, but what do I do now?

Forget the record, it's off the record
I was going through some bulls***
Post-Survivor, she on fire
Who wanna hear my bulls***?
Meanwhile this n**** putting his hands on me
Swear y'all don't know the half of this industry

TV NEWS
A shake-up at the top of "The Voice" is on its way: Shakira has confirmed she won't be returning for the show's season 5. When asked on Tuesday night after the Top 12 elimination show, whether she'd come back next season, she said, "Not for next season, for sure." She added that she wanted to "get back to my baby (4-month-old Milan) -- give him some love and dedicate some time to him and also to my new album that I'm working on." There is speculation that original "Voice" coach Christina Aguilera will step in when Shakira leaves and that the singer will receive $12 million for her appearance, though neither is confirmed.

The CW confirmed what fans already pretty much already figured out: That the fourth season will be the last for Nikita. The first clue was that the network only ordered six episodes. The second was a tweet by showrunner Craig Silverstein last week promising an “incredible finish.” The third was, frankly, that Nikita‘s ratings were so low it was tough to imagine an open-ended scenario.

Jennifer Lopez is the newly appointed chief creative officer of NUVOtv. The versatile J-Lo was announced last fall as a creative partner with the English-language Latino network, but her role was solidified Wednesday as NUVOtv held its upfront for advertisers and prepared for a re-launch of its programming in July. In an interview before the presentation, Lopez said about two years ago she was approached by NUVOtv to serve “probably more as the face of the network. But once we sat down and I started expressing my point of view about the programming and the network, it grew into something bigger.” Lopez will also be the subject of a 90-minute biographical special, the network said. Among new series announced will be “Gotta Dance,” a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of professional dancers accompanying Lopez on a world concert tour. Other series announced include “Rodney’s Joy,” a reality show about Grammy Award-winning producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins as he takes on a new client — his wife, Joy Enriquez — as well as “Mario Lopez: One on One,” an interview show.

Joyce Brothers, popular psychologist and TV personality, dies
Joyce Brothers, the pop psychologist who pioneered the television advice show in the 1950s and enjoyed a long and prolific career as a syndicated columnist, author and television and film personality, has died. She was 85. Brothers died Monday in New York City, according to her longtime publicist, Sanford Brokaw. The cause of death was not immediately made public. Brothers first gained fame on a game show and went on to publish 15 books and make cameo appearances on popular shows including "Happy Days" and "The Simpsons." She visited Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show" nearly 100 times. The way Brothers liked to tell it, her multimedia career came about "because we were hungry." It was 1955. Her husband, Milton Brothers, was still in medical school and Brothers had just given up her teaching positions at Hunter College and Columbia University to be home with her newborn, firmly believing a child's development depended on it. But the young family found itself struggling on her husband's residency income. So Brothers came up with the idea of entering a television quiz show as a contestant. "The $64,000 Question" quizzed contestants in their chosen area of expertise. She memorized 20 volumes of a boxing encyclopedia — and, with that as her subject, became the only woman ever and the second person to win the show's top prize. Brothers tried her luck again on the "$64,000 Challenge," answering each question correctly and earning the distinction as one of the biggest winners in the history of television quiz shows. Her celebrity opened up doors. In 1956, she became co-host of "Sports Showcast" and frequently appeared on talk shows. Two years later, NBC offered her a trial on an afternoon television program in which she advised on love, marriage, sex and child-rearing. Its success led to a nationally telecast program, and subsequent late-night shows that addressed such taboo subjects as menopause, frigidity, impotence and sexual enjoyment. She wrote numerous advice books, including "Ten Days To A Successful Memory," "Positive Plus: The Practical Plan for Liking Yourself Better" and "Widowed," a guide to dealing with grief written after the death of her husband in 1990. Brothers is survived by sister Elaine Goldsmith, daughter Lisa Brothers Arbisser, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Model-turned-actress Angie Everhart is battling cancer. The 43-year-old, who was once engaged to actor Joe Pesci, has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and will undergo surgery. Everhart's publicist says "Word has been trickling out about supermodel-actress Angie Everhart's health. She wants to set the record straight by letting everyone know that it is true that she has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer, however, the prognosis is very good." The rep continued, "She will undergo surgery tomorrow and expects to be back to work and to mommy duties in a few weeks. The most important reason she is revealing this information is to encourage people to learn about cancer prevention, its signs and treatment immediately."

Angelina Jolie has double mastectomy to prevent cancer likelihood
Angelina Jolie recently underwent a double mastectomy after genetic tests determined the actress faced a high probability of developing breast cancer. The Girl, Interrupted Oscar-winner revealed the news in a New York Times column published Tuesday titled “My Medical Choice,” saying that she wanted to avoid the same fate as her mother, who died at age 56 after battling the ovarian cancer for nearly a decade. “I wanted to write this to tell other women that the decision to have a mastectomy was not easy. But it is one I am very happy that I made,” Jolie wrote in the essay. “My chances of developing breast cancer have dropped from 87 percent to under 5 percent. I can tell my children that they don’t need to fear they will lose me to breast cancer.” The 37-year-old actress has six children, and said they have sometimes asked whether she might also end up with the illness that took their grandmother, Marcheline Bertrand, in 2007. “I have always told them not to worry, but the truth is I carry a ‘faulty’  gene, BRCA1, which sharply increases my risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer,” Jolie wrote. “Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could,” she added. “I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy. I started with the breasts, as my risk of breast cancer is higher than my risk of ovarian cancer, and the surgery is more complex.” Astoundingly, one of the most watched human beings on the planet was able to keep her treatment completely secret through three months of surgeries, despite being followed by paparazzi seemingly everywhere she goes. Her voluntary revelation now could raise an astronomical amount of awareness — potentially saving the lives others unfamiliar with this kind of testing or preventative measure. In her column, Jolie said she decided to open up about it “because there are many women who do not know that they might be living under the shadow of cancer. It is my hope that they, too, will be able to get gene tested, and that if they have a high risk they, too, will know that they have strong options.” She said a prime concern is helping middle- and lower-income people. “The cost of testing for BRCA1 and BRCA2, at more than $3,000 in the United States, remains an obstacle for many women.” And coming from a celebrity often ranked as one of the most beautiful women in the world, Jolie could have a profound supportive influence on those facing similar treatment —  since one of the most agonizing parts of the decision is what it will do to the patient’s appearance and sense of self. She acknowledged those potential psychological effects in her op-ed. “On a personal note, I do not feel any less of a woman,” she wrote. “I feel empowered that I made a strong choice that in no way diminishes my femininity.” Jolie credited her partner, Brad Pitt, for helping her through the arduous series of procedures, which began on Feb. 2 and ended on April 27.  ”So to anyone who has a wife or girlfriend going through this, know that you are a very important part of the transition,” Jolie wrote. “Brad was at the Pink Lotus Breast Center, where I was treated, for every minute of the surgeries. We managed to find moments to laugh together. We knew this was the right thing to do for our family and that it would bring us closer. And it has.” She said her regimen will eventually be made public and posted on the Web site of the Pink Lotus Breast Center, but Jolie also delved into fairly specific detail in her essay, describing the so-called “nipple delay” procedure designed to save that part of the body, the later surgery to remove her breast tissue, and the subsequent reconstruction. “You wake up with drain tubes and expanders in your breasts. It does feel like a scene out of a science-fiction film. But days after surgery you can be back to a normal life,” she said. “Nine weeks later, the final surgery is completed with the reconstruction of the breasts with an implant. There have been many advances in this procedure in the last few years, and the results can be beautiful.” Jolie’s next screen role will be as the title character in Disney’s live-action Maleficient, a retelling of the Sleeping Beauty story from the perspective of the villain. It’s set to open in July 2014.

Beyonce's father faces $1.2M tax lien
The IRS has filed a large tax lien against Mathew Knowles, who was still managing his daughter, Beyonce, in 2010 and 2011, when the feds claim he underpaid. Knowles owes a whopping $1,213,580.84 in total. Beyonce cut professional ties with her dad in 2011. Earlier this year, she told Oprah Winfrey that the pair had begun arguing more as she got older. "It took a while for me and my dad to have an understanding," she said. "When I turned 18 and started handling my business more, he went into shock. And we had our issues. I'd say 'no' to something, and he'd book it anyway. Then I'd have to do it because I'd look bad [if I didn't]."

Ex-WR Smith sentenced to six years
Former Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Jimmy Smith has been sentenced to six years in prison in Mississippi for drug possession and weapons charges. The Mississippi Department of Corrections' website says the 44-year-old Smith entered the prison system in late March and was recently moved to a facility in Yazoo City. Online records show he was sentenced by a Madison County court to two years for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and four years for possession of cocaine. His tentative release date is listed as Nov. 8, 2018. Smith, a standout at Jackson State drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 1992, played 13 seasons in the NFL, including 11 for the Jaguars. He became the franchise's all-time leading receiver before his retirement in 2005.

Brooke Mueller 'rambled about mafia connections before being admitted to rehab'.... as Charlie Sheen's ex Denise Richards refuses extra child support for taking care of his twins
Brooke Mueller is reported to have been babbling about ‘mafia connections’ when she was forced into psychiatric care earlier this month under suspicion of heavy drug abuse. When police arrived at her Los Angeles home on May 1 the 35-year-old was ranting about an imaginary FBI investigation of her ex Charlie Sheen. The mother-of-two claimed she was an informant for the Federal Bureau and was going to bring her former husband down with her secret information.  law enforcement arrived at her home after receiving a 911 call from a man who claimed Brooke had assaulted him. officers on the scene believed that she was inebriated and appeared to not have slept for days. Her children, four-year-old twin boys Bob and Max who she shares with Sheen, were present in the house during the incident. Police called the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, who were reported have had an open case on the troubled mother. Upon making the call to Family Services officers took Brooke into custody under a section 5150 – a California Welfare and Institutions Code that deems an individual to have a mental disorder making them a danger to themselves and others. Brooke was placed under a three-day psychiatric hold and was later sent to rehab. Meanwhile, Brooke is said to be concerned that her child support - a whopping $55,000 a month - will be cut off by Sheen as their children are in the temporary custody of Denise Richards. A source said ‘One of the reasons she had her lawyer go to court on Friday to ask the judge to strip Denise Richards of temporary guardianship of Bob and Max - and have them placed with her brother - is because she is afraid that Charlie is going to cut off child support.’ The rehab veteran’s sole source of income are the child support checks, as the source explained: ‘Brooke hasn’t worked in years and is unable to keep a job because of her addiction to drugs. ‘Brooke doesn’t have any money saved and lives month-to-month on the child support.’ Despite being denied spouse support in her divorce from the movie star she did receive a $757,000 settlement as well as $1 million from the sale of their home. But Sheen has no plans to cut her off just yet as the source said: ‘Charlie will reassess the child support issue with Brooke in the next few months and see where things stand. He wants her to get the help she needs.’ Although, his other ex wife Denise is an entirely different story. Sheen is reported have offered to give Richards more money for taking care of his two children while their mother Brooke is in rehab. But the actress politely declined. The Anger Management star also pays Denise $55,000 a month in child support, but wanted to give her more as she tended to his four-year-old twins from his marriage to Brooke. ‘Charlie is extremely generous, and wanted to make sure having the twins in Denise’s care didn’t place a financial strain on her.  ‘Denise was thankful for the offer, but declined because she has the financial means to take care of them herself. She isn’t doing this for the money.’

Bill Hader is leaving Saturday Night Live after eight seasons
as one of its most versatile and hilarious players. The 34-year-old actor arrived at 30 Rock in 2005 and quickly carved out a role for himself with some of the show’s most popular characters, including “Weekend Update” special guests Stefon and James Carville, and an array of oddball game-show hosts. “It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point,” Hader said. “It got to a point where I said, ‘Maybe it’s just time to go.’” Last year, Hader was rewarded with an Emmy nomination for his all-around excellence on the show. He’s expected to focus more on movies; he’s appeared in films like Superbad, Adventureland, and Tropic Thunder, and in just the last season of SNL, he squeezed in three live-action movies and four animated films. One of them is The To Do List, starring Aubrey Plaza, which his wife, Maggie Carey wrote and directed.
HIMYM Season 9 Spoilers The casting of Broadway MVP Cristin Milioti as How I Met Your Mother‘s titular mother was literally Hollywood’s best-kept secret — that is until she showed up in the closing seconds of Monday’s Season 8 finale. Milioti’s season-ending cameo was shot on March 27 on the Twentieth Century Fox lot in Los Angeles. Strict non-disclosure agreements and a (mostly) closed set were just a few of the precautions taken to preserve the surprise.

Grandson of Malcolm X killed in Mexico: US officials
Malcolm Shabazz, grandson of political activist Malcolm X, died while traveling in Mexico, U.S. officials confirmed Friday. He was 28. Two U.S. officials said Shabazz was killed Thursday morning in Mexico City. They did not provide additional details and they spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the case. Shabazz family publicist Terrie Williams confirmed the death to The Associated Press and said the family would issue a statement later.NLabor activist Miguel Suarez said he was with Shabazz when his friend was beaten up during a dispute over a bill at a Mexico City bar. Suarez, who was recently deported from the United States to Mexico, told the AP that they and several other people had gone to a bar near the downtown plaza that is home to Mexico City's mariachis. He said Friday the owner demanded they pay a $1,200 bill and a fight ensued. Suarez says he later found Shabazz injured outside the bar and took him to a hospital where he died on Thursday. In June 1997, Malcolm Shabazz, then 12, set a fire at his grandmother Betty Shabazz's home. She died from severe burns, and he served four years in juvenile detention. He later expressed regret for his actions, telling The New York Times in 2003 that he would sit on his jail cot and ask for a sign of forgiveness from his dead grandmother. "I just wanted her to know I was sorry and I wanted to know she accepted my apology, that I didn't mean it," he said. "But I would get no response, and I really wanted that response." Shabazz also served time on a 2002 attempted robbery conviction, and was released in 2005. In 2006, he pleaded guilty to criminal mischief for smashing the window of a Yonkers doughnut shop. In recent years, Shabazz said he was writing a memoir and traveling the United States to speak out against youth violence. On his Facebook profile, he said he was attending John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. He proudly embraced his grandfather's legacy, describing himself on his Twitter page as "Grandson, name-sake and first male heir of the greatest revolutionary leader of the 20th century.

Barbara Walters To Announce Her Retirement Monday
Barbara  Walters is retiring. The veteran ABC News anchor is set to announce Monday morning on “The View” that she will retire from TV journalism next summer. ABC said in an announcement late Sunday that, until then, Walters will continue to anchor and report for the network, anchor specials throughout the year, and appear on “The View.” She will remain executive producer of “The View,” the weekday talk show she created in 1997. The 83-year-old Walters has spent 37 years at ABC News, joining the network in 1976 to become the first female co-anchor on an evening news program. Three years later, she became a co-host of ABC’s “20/20” newsmagazine. Before coming to ABC, she spent 15 years at NBC News, where she was a co-host of the “Today” show. “I am very happy with my decision,” Walters said, “and look forward to a wonderful and special year ahead. “I do not want to appear on another program or climb another mountain,” she added. “I want instead to sit on a sunny field and admire the very gifted women — and, OK, some men, too — who will be taking my place.”

Co-host Savannah Guthrie is engaged to marry her boyfriend of four years, Michael Feldman, who proposed over this Mother's Day weekend, the morning personality, 41, announced on the show Monday. "Good for you and congratulations to Mr. Feldman," said her anchor mate Matt Lauer. "He's a great guy." Guthrie, who was married (and divorced) once before, from 2005 to 2009 to BBC News presenter Mark Orchard, said she wouldn't let her wedding be broadcast on the show.

TERRENCE HOWARD DIVORCE FINALIZED AFTER TWO-YEAR BATTLE
Michelle Ghent submitted legal papers to end the union in February, 2011, days after the couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary. They have been embroiled in a nasty court battle ever since, but they are now single again after a judge finalized divorce proceedings earlier this week. Howard has been ordered to pay $5,800 a month in spousal support for the next three years, but has kept his properties. Ghent was allowed to keep a BMW gifted to her by the "Red Tails" star.

DAMON DASH FACING EVICTION OVER $100,000 RENT DEBT
Beleaguered rap mogul Damon Dash is facing eviction from his New York home after falling $100,000 behind on his rent, a court has heard. Dash was ordered to pay $240,000 to apparel exec Tom Nastos by a Manhattan Supreme Court judge on Thursday, plus an additional $90,000 in interest after allegedly failing to return a 2006 loan. During the hearing, the music executive, who once co-owned Roc-A-Fella Records and the Rocawear clothing line with Jay-Z, revealed he had fallen into such a dire financial situation he was close to being evicted from his rented home in Carmel, N.Y., due a massive rental debt. In his filing for the court, he wrote, "I am currently several months behind in paying my personal bills. For instance, I am currently over $100,000 behind in rent for the only home in which I live and at risk of being evicted." Dash's documents also revealed he owes more than $2 million in taxes to New York state and hands over $24,000 to his ex-wife, fashion designer Rachel Roy, every three months in child support for their two children.

'Iron Man 3' leads with $72.5 million; 'The Great Gatsby' shines in second
"The Great Gatsby” pulled off a dazzling $51 million debut, but couldn't catch "Iron Man 3" its second weekend in U.S. theaters. Disney’s Marvel sequel rolled up another $72.5 million this weekend, and is approaching $1 billion at the worldwide box office. Last weekend, it posted the second-biggest U.S. office debut ever. The critics were split on "Gatsby" and first-night audiences seemed to be, too. It received a so-so "B" from CinemaScore, whose grades typically skew high. But there's no denying the aggressive marketing campaign -- highlighting the film's stars, Jay-Z produced hip-hop soundtrack and Luhrmann's splashy directing style -- connected. "Gatsby" is easily Luhrmann's biggest opening ever, way ahead of the $14.8 million debut of his last movie "Australia," and nearly matched the entire domestic haul of his previous biggest earner, 2001's "Moulin Rouge!" The director, who also wrote the screenplay, was just part of the movie's audience appeal, according to Dan Fellman, president of distribution at Warner Bros. "Leo drove it and Jay-Z's music was big factor, too," he told The Wrap, "and it doesn't hurt to have a director with his own star power."  The weekend's only other wide opener, the low-budget PG-13 "Tyler Perry Presents: Peeples," took in a disappointing $4.8 million for Lionsgate. Perry's films have on average opened to more than $20 million, but he's only produced on this project. Tina Gordon Chisum, a screenwriter on "Drumline," made her directing debut on the film, which stars Craig Robinson, Kerry Washington and David Alan Grier.
The top 5 this weekend:
"Iron Man 3," $72.4 million
"The Great Gatsby," $51.1 million
"Pain & Gain," $5 million
"Tyler Perry Presents: Peeples," $4.8 million
"42," $4.6 million
Shenae Grimes Marries Josh Beech Spring is in the air – and so is love for Shenae Grimes. The 90210 starlet, 23, wed British model, Josh Beech, she revealed on Twitter Friday. Slayer's Jeff Hanneman died of alcohol-related liver scarring
Slayer rocker Jeff Hanneman's official cause of death has been listed as alcohol-related liver scarring. The guitarist passed away in a Los Angeles hospital on May 2 at age 49, and now it has emerged he succumbed to alcohol-related cirrhosis, or an irreversible scarring of the liver. In a post on Slayer's official website, Hanneman's devastated bandmates admit they were unaware of "the true extent" of his liver problems until their pal was facing death. The statement reads, "We've just learned that the official cause of Jeff's death was alcohol related cirrhosis. While he had his health struggles over the years, including the recent Necrotizing fasciitis infection that devastated his well-being [after a spider bite in 2011], Jeff and those close to him were not aware of the true extent of his liver condition until the last days of his life." The band goes on to refute rumors Hanneman was set to undergo an operation to help relieve his condition, and insist he was optimistic about making new music. Slayer add, "Contrary to some reports, Jeff was not on a transplant list at the time of his passing, or at any time prior to that. In fact, by all accounts, it appeared that he had been improving -- he was excited and looking forward to working on a new record."

Lady Gaga performs for first time since hip surgery
Lady Gaga returned to the stage on Thursday for the first time since undergoing hip surgery after making an unannounced appearance at a New York bar. The singer has been in recovery since receiving treatment on Feb. 20 to fix a hip injury which prompted her to cancel the remaining dates on her Born This Way Ball world tour, and she was recently spotted back on her feet, in high heels, after spending weeks in a wheelchair. However, she decided to step back into the spotlight by joining her pal, jazz musician Brian Newman, during his regular performance at the Gramercy Park Hotel's Rose Bar on Thursday, and sang George Gershwin's anthem "Someone to Watch Over Me" to the surprised crowd. After the show, Newman took to his Twitter.com page and wrote, "Thanks to the 1&only @ladygaga for coming out to @GPHhotel tonight." Gaga is no stranger to Newman's gigs - she has previously performed with her friend at the Oak Room bar at the city's Plaza Hotel.

Sam Poueu's Cheating Led to Stephanie Anderson's Divorce Filing
Accustomed to surprises from her time on The Biggest Loser, Stephanie Anderson recently received a completely unwelcome one from her husband of one year, fellow show alum Sam Poueu. As the couple prepared for the birth of their first child, a boy due in July, "Stephanie felt they weren't connecting and decided they should go to counseling," a source close to the situation says. "It was getting dire."  Finally the truth came out, and it stunned Anderson.  "In one of the counseling sessions, Sam thought he would make it better by confessing," continues the source. "He [admitted] that he had cheated on her with multiple women throughout the course of their courtship and marriage. He told her everything." Shocked by the news, "Stephanie decided to split" from Poueu just two months before their son is due, says the source.  When approached about the infidelity allegations, Poueu, 28, didn't deny the claims. He said in a statement, "The circumstances and specifics of our marriage and our separation are extremely difficult and private." Now Anderson, 33, and Poueu are left trying to pick up the pieces of their broken marriage amid preparing for the arrival of their baby boy this summer. "Our focus is on Stephanie's continued health through her pregnancy and the delivery of our son," Poueu says. "We are excited to be blessed as his parents and are focusing all of our energy and attention on doing what is best for his future. He is the most important person right now to both of us."

Jeanne Cooper Dead; Young and the Restless Star Dies at 84 Soap opera star Jeanne Cooper has died. She was 84. A network spokeswoman said Cooper's family told the network of her death. Her son Corbin Bernsen also confirmed Cooper's death via posts on Facebook and Twitter. "Mom passed this morning. She was in peace and without fear," he wrote on Wednesday. "U all have been incredible in your love. In her name share it 2 day with others." A California native who was born with the name Wilma Jeanne, Cooper had a flourishing career as a journeyman TV actor — she made countless appearances in shows that varied from Playhouse 90 and Twilight Zone to Gunsmoke and L.A. Law — when she was approached about a role on a daytime drama that was in development at CBS. Cooper played grande dame Katherine Chancellor on CBS's The Young and the Restless for nearly four decades. She earned repeated Daytime Emmy Award nominations and a trophy for best actress in a drama series in 2008. “Jeanne Cooper will be remembered as a daytime television legend and as a friend who will truly be missed by all of us here at the Network,” said Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment, in a statement. “She was the longest-running cast member on daytime’s No. 1 show, bringing indelible charm, class and talent to every episode. On behalf of everyone at CBS, we send our condolences to Jeanne’s family, as well as the legions of fans she has amassed during her record 39 years on The Young and The Restless, and throughout her career.”Bernsen Tweeted in April that his mother faced an "uphill battle" for an undisclosed illness. In subsequent days he wrote of her gradual improvement and said that she'd been taken off breathing equipment.

RAPPER JA RULE LEAVES UPSTATE NY FEDERAL PRISON
Federal authorities say platinum-selling rapper Ja Rule has left federal prison. The Federal Bureau of Prisons says he left a correctional facility in New York's Adirondacks on Tuesday, though time remains on his sentence. The bureau says the release date for the 36-year-old rapper, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, technically remains July 28, with possible community-based supervision for the balance. his wife picked him up and he'll remain in home confinement until then. Bethany Hamilton Is Engaged
Bethany Hamilton is getting married!  The championship surfer, who lost her arm at age 13 in a shark attack, shared the happy news on her blog Wednesday.  In a post titled "In Love," Hamilton, 23, describes her fiancé Adam. "The first thing we did was jump off a cliff together!" she writes, adding their first meeting last spring was something of a blind date. After her horrific injury in 2003 turned her into an overnight celebrity of sorts, Hamilton inspired people around the world with her return to surfing. She went pro in 2007, shared her story in a book, Soul Surfer, which eventually became a major motion picture and remains an inspirational figure to many.  "I'm so thankful for you and look forward to living life together! Adam, I love you and I'm here to stay!" Hamilton blogs.  Adds her fiancé on a guest blog post: "Right away I could tell she was pretty cool (I mean she jumped a 40 foot cliff into the ocean with me!), she's down to earth, and I could tell she understood my heart for The Lord and others; and I saw her heart as well."

'BIGGEST LOSER' COUPLE SAM POUEU, STEPHANIE ANDERSON SPLIT BEFORE BABY'S BIRTH
The "Biggest Loser" couple Sam Poueu and Stephanie Anderson aren't getting the happy ending they wanted. Just two months before the birth of their first child, the NBC reality stars have separated and are in the process of filing for divorce, their rep says. "It is with great sadness that my marriage to Sam Poueu is ending," Anderson, who is 7-months-pregnant with Poueu's child also says. "Thank you in advance for respecting our privacy during this difficult time." It's been a long road for the couple, who fell in love while filming the third season of "Biggest Loser," which aired in 2010. (Collectively, the pair lost a total of 241 pounds.) Poueu proposed on the show's ranch in Calabasas, Calif., in October 2010. Nearly one year later, in September 2011, Poueu survived a terrifying 54-foot fall from a friend's roof deck, but had to endure multiple, serious injuries. Anderson stayed by his side during the grueling 3-month recovery, and they wed in April 2012. The couple announced that they were expecting their first child this past January. "Just from the experience of her being my caretaker post-accident, it was a dead giveaway that she'd be a fantastic mother," the 27-year-old trainer said. "That was an early sign for me that our child is going to have the best mother ever."

'Charlie Brown' actor to serve sentence in rehab
The man who was the original voice of Charlie Brown in "Peanuts" television specials was sentenced Wednesday to a year in jail for threatening his former girlfriend and stalking her plastic surgeon, then immediately released to a residential drug treatment center. A judge warned Peter Robbins that he could be sent to prison for nearly four years if he violates the terms of his probation. "Don't be a blockhead," Superior Court Judge Dwayne Moring told Robbins, borrowing a line from Charlie Brown's friend Lucy. Robbins, 56, choked back tears as he told the judge that treatment for alcoholism and addiction to prescription medications would be a first step toward becoming "the fun-loving person" he was. He said he loved his former girlfriend, and he apologized to her and her plastic surgeon "for any fear that I caused." Robbins, who has been in jail since his arrest in January and pleaded guilty in April, received five years' probation and must undergo treatment for domestic violence and stalking. He was ordered to pay the plastic surgeon $15,082 in restitution and to avoid contacting her for 10 years. Prosecutors have said Robbins called the former girlfriend as many as 37 times over 24 hours, threatening to kill her and her son if she didn't return his dog and car. He allegedly followed the plastic surgeon, calling her office so frequently that she moved to a hotel and hired an armed guard. Prosecutors said he demanded a refund for his ex-girlfriend's breast enhancement. The plastic surgeon wrote to the judge that Robbins wrote a note on her office door, threatening to break her "in half." Robbins starred as Charlie Brown in the 1965 debut "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and held the role in five other television specials, including "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" in 1966.
Proudly baring her seven-month bump in a series of trendy two-pieces, the 32-year-old reality star soaked up the sun on the island of Mykonos, where she and her famous family spent several days at the end of April.

Rob Kardashian charged with battery, theft; pleads not guilty
Rob Kardashian, charged Friday with misdemeanor battery and petty theft, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to the charges stemming from a scuffle with a photographer in March. While prosecutors had asked that bail be set at $21,000, L.A. Judge Marsha Revel (one of the many judges Lindsay Lohan appeared before) let Kardashian go on his own recognizance. Now maybe the weight-challenged reality star can get back to working out, which is kind of what got all this started in the first place: Kardashian, who's been working to drop the pounds, wasn't cool with surprise photos being taken of him shirtless in the parking garage of a West Hollywood gym. Kardashian was already sued in civil court over the incident, in which he is accused of roughing up the paparazzo who took said pictures while grabbing her camera and taking out the memory card to prevent the pics from ever seeing the tabloid light of day. Photographer Kassandra Perez, real name Andra Viak, alleged that she was hit in the face and suffered injuries to her arm and chest and said her memory card was worth approximately $30,000, according to April 30 court documents obtained by E! News. The card contained 1,200 pictures of celebs and about 300 freelance photos, the docs stated. It looks as if Rob's taking the criminal proceedings seriously: He was represented Wednesday by Robert Shapiro,  one of the attorneys in the O.J. Simpson murder case, on which Kardashian's late father also worked back in the day.

Insider: 'Idol' to axe all 4 judges as part of massive makeover
None of the four judges on the singing competition will be asked to return next season, an individual with knowledge of Fox's plans said. Longtime producer Nigel Lythgoe is expected to get the boot. And despite reports to the contrary, Fox isn't even considering bringing former judge Jennifer Lopez back as a lifesaver for next season. "All four are gone," the insider said. "They feel they've lost their core audience and they want it back." A Fox spokesperson declined to comment for this story. Driven by this belief and the need to attract younger viewers, Fox is set to make major on-air changes to "Idol," the most notable of which will be an entirely new judging panel. New judges pop icon Mariah Carey, rapper Nicki Minaj and country star Keith Urban won't be back. Even original judge Randy Jackson won't survive the blood bath this time around. All four judges have options to return for another season, but Fox won't be picking them up, according to the knowledgeable individual, who said: "No more big checks for divas." The network has resolved to stop paying the huge salaries it has been shoveling out for its big name talent, i.e. Carey's reported $18 million package, Minaj's $12 million salary and former judge Jennifer Lopez's $15 million. "Idol" is still the No. 1 revenue generator for Fox, bringing in $836.4 million in ad revenue last year, according to Kantar Media. Plus, it has nothing to replace it. Simon Cowell's "The X Factor" is far from being "Idol's" heir apparent after failing to meet ratings expectations over its first two seasons. It, too, is undergoing another round of changes for Season 3, with pop star Britney Spears and record executive L.A. Reid not returning.

'The Voice' admits to voting snafu on the air

Fans of "The Voice" were in for a shock when they tuned in to Wednesday's (May 8) episode of the NBC singing competition, ready to learn which of their favorite artists were advancing to the Top 12, only to be informed that the show had a glitch with their voting this week. While it didn't derail the show, fans who tried to vote online and via text message had trouble casting their votes using the show's vote-tallying company, Telescope, which also manages voting for FOX's "American Idol" and "The X Factor." The network says that the issues would not have altered the outcome of the vote. Host Carson Daly opened the show with the admission, introducing Telescope CEO Jason George. "Tonight we'd like to be completely upfront with you," Daly said. "We noticed some inconsistencies with this week's texting and online voting." "Our system caught an inconsistency in a portion of this week's voting data," George explained in a statement. "For fairness, those votes have been removed from Monday and Tuesday's results, but we want to assure fans and artists alike that this in no way affected the outcome for any team." The network added, in a statement, "On this week's episodes of The Voice, we encountered issues with the systems used for online and SMS voting. We are addressing both issues, and in an abundance of caution are not counting the votes that may have been affected. Telescope, the independent company that administers voting for the show, has certified that removing those votes does not affect the outcome for any team."
