Wyclef Jean shot in hand in Haiti

Hip-hop singer Wyclef Jean was shot in the hand on Saturday, Mar. 19, while in Haiti. Jean was in Port-au-Prince on the eve of the country's presidential runoff vote when he was shot. The singer was taken to a hospital, treated and released. Spokeswoman Cindy Tanenbaum said the wound was superficial and that Jean "is doing well." Jean was born in Haiti and was one of the first celebrities to offer aid after the earthquake. Last year, Jean announced his plan to run for Haitian presidency, but was later deemed ineligible to run by election officials. His eligibility was questioned after claims that he had not lived in Haiti for five consecutive years prior to the election.  "The way I can explain it is that the bullet grazed me in my right hand," Jean said. "I heard blow, blow, blow, and I just looked at my hand." Jean, who was with a driver and the Haitian hip-hop singer FanFan at the time, said he didn't know who fired the shots, or whether they were directed at him. He said he got out of the car to have a private conversation that FanFan would not overhear. He heard the shots and looked down to see blood on his shirt and sneakers. Jean said he took antibiotics and recovered at an "undisclosed location" before going out to vote in Sunday's presidential election. first his assistant was killed and now he was shot, i think Wyclef maybe the target and needs to beef up his security.

AT&T to Acquire T-Mobile for $39 Billion

AT&T announced Sunday that it would buy T-Mobile USA from Deutsche Telekom in a game-changing deal valued at $39 billion. The acquisition will combine two of the nation's major cell phone carriers, leaving only Verizon and the much smaller Sprint in the market. Critics believe the deal will result in higher prices for T-Mobile customers, who will likely have to subscribe to AT&T rates after their current contracts expire. However, the merger will also bring 4G to T-Mobile subscribers through AT&T's new LTE standard and is expected to improve network quality and cut costs across the board for both companies.

Bradley Cooper, Renee Zellweger reportedly split

Bradley Cooper and Renee Zellweger have called it quits. While reps for the former couple had no comment, multiple sources are claiming that it's the end of the road for these two. After just under two years together, the relationship has lasted longer than each of their previous marriages combined -- Both maxing out in less than six months, Zellweger's marriage to Kenny Chesney and Cooper's to Jennifer Esposito were short lived. The stars met six years ago on the set of "Case 39," but didn't become romantically involved until 2009.
