Johnny Lewis, an actor who played Kip "Half Sack" Epps on the cable TV show "Sons of Anarchy," has fallen to his death after apparently beating to death his elderly landlady at a hillside home, authorities said. The Los Angeles County coroner's office on Thursday identified the bodies as those of Lewis, 28, and Catherine Davis, 81. The causes of their deaths were unknown pending autopsies. Neighbors called police Wednesday morning to report a woman screaming and three men fighting. Officers went to a home in the Los Feliz area near Hollywood and found the body of a woman in the driveway, Sgt. Frank Preciado told the Los Angeles Times. Investigators believe she was struck or beaten. The body of the suspected killer, who may have rented a room from the woman, was found about six feet from a wall, Preciado said. The man climbed a wall and fought with a housepainter at a neighboring home, returned to the woman's home and climbed the wall again to fight with the painter and the owner of the second house, Preciado said. The man apparently fell while trying to scale the wall again, Preciado said. The men who fought with him were treated at the scene for minor injuries, he said. Lewis had been released from jail just days before. The actor pleaded no contest Aug. 8 to assault with a deadly weapon and then on Aug. 17 he pleaded no contest to burglary, according to court records. He was sentenced to a year in jail in the first case and 291 days in the second, but given hundreds of days credit for time already served and good behavior. He left a San Fernando Valley jail at 4:05 p.m. on Sept. 21. Jonathan Kendrick Lewis had a career spanning more than a decade, mainly in small roles. He played Ricky in the 2007 movie "AVPR: Aliens vs Predator — Requiem" and was Dennis 'Chili' Childress for two seasons on TV's "The O.C." He played Epps on FX's "Sons of Anarchy" in 2008 and 2009 episodes. "It was a tragic end for an extremely talented guy, who unfortunately had lost his way. I wish I could say that I was shocked by the events last night, but I was not," Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter wrote on his website. "I am deeply sorry that an innocent life had to be thrown into his destructive path."

Lil Wayne tops Elvis' Billboard record
Lil Wayne is not only making rap history, he's making rock 'n' roll history: The rapper has surpassed Elvis Presley as the male with the most entries on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Lil Wayne now has 109 songs on that chart with Thursday's debut of Game's song "Celebration," where he is a guest alongside Chris Brown, Tyga and Wiz Khalifa. Of his 109 charted songs, only 42 are led by Lil Wayne; 67 are songs where he is the featured act. Thursday is the rapper's 30th birthday. Presley totaled 108 songs on the Hot 100 since it launched in 1958. Presley's career kicked off before that and several of his songs — like "Heartbreak Hotel" — could not be included in his total number. The "Glee" cast has the most Hot 100 entries with 204.John Travolta Spa-Sex Libel Suit Tentatively Dismissed
A Los Angeles Superior Court judge tentatively cleared John Travolta and his attorney of libel charges Thursday in a case filed by the author of a book detailing the actor's alleged homosexual escapades in spas. Robert Randolph, who wrote "You'll Never Spa in This Town Again" and served as a source in a 2010 Gawker story called "The Secret Sex Life of John Travolta," had sued Travolta and attorney Marty Singer, alleging personal damage inflicted by Singer's media statements in response to the publications. After Gawker published the story, in which Randolph claimed he witnessed Travolta having oral and anal sex with men at a spa, Singer submitted a long letter to the media gossip site, alleging, in turn, that Randolph was mentally unstable. Randolph filed a libel suit against the actor and attorney, claiming they "sought to disparage the quality of [Randolph's] property and reputation and to induce members of the public to believe [Randolph] is an unreliable source and thus abstain from purchasing" the book, according to court documents obtained by TheWrap. The defendants made an anti-SLAPP motion, which, under California law, can throw out lawsuits deemed frivolous infringements of defendants' First Amendment rights. Judge Malcolm Mackey said Singer's letter was not subject to a defamation claim. "Mr. Travolta will be seeking to obtain his legal fees from Robert Randolph and his lawyers," Lynda B. Goldman, the defendants' attorney who works at Singer's firm, said in a statement "Notwithstanding inane tabloid fodder, two individuals who sued Mr. Travolta voluntarily dismissed their cases, and Randolph's case was dismissed by the court. Anyone else who thinks about suing Mr. Travolta should expect a similar result."
Piers Morgan bans Kelsey Grammer from his show
Newsman-turned-TV talk show host Piers Morgan has banned Kelsey Grammer from his daily CNN program after the actor walked out over a photo mix-up last week. The former "Frasier" star stormed off the "Piers Morgan Tonight" set at the last minute after spotting a snap of his ex-wife Camille in the opening titles, according to the show host -- and now Grammer has joined Madonna on the ex-tabloid editor's banned list. Asked if he'll have the actor back on the show, Morgan states, "No, it'll be the last time." Grammer has yet to comment on the drama but his representative says, "Piers needs to take responsibility for what he did to Kelsey. It's called accountability." Last month, Grammer refused to utter Camille's name during a chat with TV host Oprah Winfrey, simply referring to the reality TV star as "that person." The Grammers went through a bitter divorce and custody battle after splitting in 2010.
