T.O. hospitalized
Free agent wide receiver Terrell Owens was hospitalized last week in Los Angeles for a possible prescription pill overdose. Owens was rushed to the hospital by ambulance Thursday night after a 911 call reported a possible overdose at an apartment where the football player was staying. Police also were called to the scene, but Owens was already en route to the hospital when law enforcement arrived. Owens, 37, has since been released. While a member of the Dallas Cowboys in 2006, Owens was hospitalized after overdosing on the pain killer hydrocodone. The NFL star later denied reports that he was battling depression and that the incident had been an attempted suicide. Owens, who is still recovering from surgery on a torn anterior cruciate ligament, recently said it was only "a matter of time" before he returns to the football field.

NBA cancels season's first two weeks

Saying he was sad and sorry, NBA Commissioner David Stern canceled the first two weeks of the season Monday after players and owners were unable to reach a new labor deal to end the lockout. ''The gap is so significant that we just can't bridge it at this time,'' said Stern, who added it's doubtful a full 82-game season can be played. ''We certainly hoped it would never come to this,'' he said of the NBA's first work stoppage since the 1998-99 season was reduced to 50 games. ''This is not where we choose to be,'' union president Derek Fisher said. ''We're not at a place where a fair deal can be reached with the NBA.'' With just three weeks remaining before the start of the season, top negotiators for both sides met for more than seven hours Monday but were unable to reach an agreement. The two sides expect to remain in contact, but no additional formal talks have been scheduled. Stern said both sides are ''very far apart on virtually all issues. ... We just have a gulf that separates us.'' Players say they have prepared for a shortened season for a couple of years, knowing it could be the inevitable outcome of a difficult negotiation. The owners' initial proposal in early 2010 for a new CBA, calling for salary reductions and rollbacks, shorter contracts and a hard cap of $45 million, got the process off to a tense start. When the sides couldn't agree to a new deal before the old one expired on July 1, Hunter said it had been difficult for the players to overcome the setback the initial proposal caused.
Tennis Star Serena Williams and Country singer Jake Owen have reportedly gone on a few dates. The tennis star and singer were photographed together Friday night. Serena wasted little time brushing off rumors. Realizing that she was being photographed Friday after dinner, she wrote on Twitter “Ugh paparazzi annoying. Honestly really? Like I wonder what tomm they will say.”She also tweeted to Jake, who performed at Staples Center Saturday, telling him “had so much fun tonite! Yea can’t wait to see concert tomm! Fun time see u tomm/today!!! Lol MardyFish wish u were here!”

Tony Parker to play for his team in France

Spurs guard Tony Parker has made his decision on where he'll play this season during the NBA lockout. The decision was not a tough one, considering he knows the boss of his new team. Parker tweeted: "Going to play in France !!! Let's go ASVEL !!! De retour en France pour jouer avec I'ASVEL !!!" In 2009, Parker bought a 20 percent stake in ASVEL and serves as the vice president of basketball operations for the club. Parker told the sports daily L'Equipe that the decision is "logical," telling the paper, "I'll be playing nearly for free.  . . . If I play the entire season, we'll go for the title." The San Antonio Express-News reports that Parker will make $1,995 per month and that the contract has an opt-out clause for Parker to return to the Spurs should the NBA lockout end. This will be Parker's second stint playing in the country. From 1999-2001, Parker played for Paris Basket Racing after passing up offers from UCLA and Georgia Tech to attend college in the states. He was selected as the 28th overall pick by the Spurs in the 2001 NBA Draft.

Kobe, Bologna working 'intensely' on deal

Kobe Bryant's representatives and Virtus Bologna are ''working very intensely'' to bring the Los Angeles Lakers' star to Italy during the NBA lockout. Bologna President Claudio Sabatini had said he had reached a tentative deal with agent Rob Pelinka for a 10-game contract worth more than $3 million. The Italian team and Bryant's management said in a joint statement Monday they are ''working very intensely to try and create this important deal. Reaching such a complex deal requires both sides' maximum attention for every little detail.''''Everyone wants a positive outcome to the deal, the goal of which is Kobe Bryant's presence in Italy, economic interests for the 17 clubs in Serie A and more attention for all of Italian basketball,'' the statement added.

Lil Wayne Admits Substance Abuse Problem
Lil Wayne is finally admitting he had a substance abuse problem -- claiming he would frequently pound a codeine-based drink called sizzurp because he was "sick." Wayne just spilled his guts in a new documentary-style video shot by one of his friends -- saying he first started drinking the stuff when he was a kid because one of his idols, Pimp C, would often rap about it. But Weezy claims he relied on sizzurp as he became more famous -- saying he needed the drink to help him cope with the pressure of being a celebrity. Wayne insisted he quit using the stuff last year -- and in the video he explains he no longer needs it because, "I'm not sick anymore." As for Pimp C -- he died from an accidental sizzurp overdose in 2007.

Other NBA Players Going Overseas

Wilson Chandler will have some company in China this season. Fellow Denver Nuggets free agent J.R. Smith is following him overseas. Another teammate, Ty Lawson, is taking his game abroad as well, electing to play in Lithuania. Unlike Chandler and Smith, Lawson will be able to cut short his overseas adventure should the lockout end in time for there to be an NBA season. New Jersey Nets point guard Deron Williams has arrived in Istanbul to start his stint with Turkish basketball team Besiktas. Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari rejoined his former Italian team Olimpia Milano, agreeing to play until the NBA lockout ends. Dallas Mavericks forward Rudy Fernandez has signed with Real Madrid's basketball team during the NBA lockout. Madrid says Fernandez has agreed to play in Spain during the labor negotiations. The deal includes an option for Fernandez to play with Madrid once his contract with the NBA champions ends.

Chris Brown Not Banned From U.K.
Chris Brown says his criminal record played NO ROLE in why he couldn't perform at the massive Michael Jackson tribute in Wales this weekend -- claiming widespread reports that he was "banned" are simply false. Brown's rep, who tells us Chris WAS invited to perform in the show, "however, his previously booked domestic F.A.M.E. tour concert dates didn’t allow him to accept the honor and therefore he never planned to go to the UK. He was not banned." The rep points out that Brown spent the weekend performing in Tampa, Charlotte and Virginia Beach -- dates that had been scheduled BEFORE he was asked to join the MJ show.

Fox is hoping that when it comes to the New Girl, absence will make your heart grow even fonder. Tony-winning actress Anika Noni Rose, who last season appeared on seven episodes of The Good Wife as wannabe State’s Attorney Wendy Scott-Carr, is returning to the acclaimed CBS drama. As of now, Rose will be returning for just one episode — and can only speculate that Ms. Scott-Caar might be game for a little payback now that Peter has claimed the office that predecessor Glenn Childs’ ambitious underling had her eye on, had her numbers not been crippled by an illegal nanny scandal dug up by young Zach Florrick.

Al Davis, the Controversial and Combative Raiders Owner, Dies at 82
Al Davis, the irascible owner of the Oakland Raiders whose feuds with the National Football League reshaped professional football over the last half century and helped spur its rise to pre-eminence in the landscape of American sports, died Saturday morning. He was 82. Before there were sports franchise owners like George Steinbrenner, Jerry Jones or Mark Cuban, there was Al Davis, outspoken and brash, who was a central figure in the merger of the upstart American Football League with the established N.F.L., paved the way for the extravaganza known as the Super Bowl, and managed to win championships while irritating the rest of pro football. Mr. Davis was a coach, general manager and owner of the Raiders for nearly 50 years. He left briefly, in 1966, to become the commissioner of the A.F.L., vowing to battle the older N.F.L. for the best players available. That attitude helped lead the N.F.L. to agree to play the A.F.L. in an annual championship game, which became the Super Bowl. In 1970, the leagues played a united schedule, creating the modern N.F.L. For his part, Mr. Davis vehemently opposed the merger. And he feuded for decades with the former N.F.L. commissioner Pete Rozelle and sued the league in the early 1980s so he could move the Raiders from Oakland to Los Angeles. Then, 13 years later, he moved them back. “He is a true legend of the game whose impact and legacy will forever be part of the N.F.L.,” Roger Goodell, the league’s current commissioner, said in a statement. He was also one of a dwindling number of N.F.L. owners whose riches came primarily from the business of football. There were no hedge funds or shipping companies in Mr. Davis’s background. He simply ran the Raiders — the team appeared in five Super Bowls under his ownership, winning three — and his business model could, for all intents and purposes, be summed up by the phrase that became his franchise’s motto: “Just win, baby!” Mr. Davis’s survivors include his wife, the former Carol Segal, and a son, Mark.
Paul McCartney Marries Nancy Shevell| Weddings, Nancy Shevell, Paul McCartney After days of wedding preparations, Paul McCartney and New York businesswoman Nancy Shevell exchanged vows during an afternoon ceremony in London. The couple, who have been dating since 2007 and were engaged in May were greeted with cheers as they arrived at the Old Marylebone Town Hall, which was opened especially for the event. Shevell, 51, wore a flower in her hair and long-sleeved, v-neck, knee-length ivory dress and shoes by her new stepdaughter, fashion designer Stella McCartney, who also made her father's navy blue suit. Wedding guests included Shevell's college-age son, Arlen, her cousin Barbara Walters, McCartney's brother Mike, Ringo Starr and wife Barbara Bach, and George Harrison's widow, Olivia. (Perhaps late Beatle John Lennon was there in spirit: Today would have been his 71th birthday.) It's the third marriage for McCartney, whose six-year union to Heather Mills ended with a bitter, headline-making divorce in 2008. (His first wife, Linda – whom he also married at the Town Hall – died from cancer in 1998, after 29 years of wedlock.) Shevell is also divorced.

Redmon O'Neal Given Monitoring Device
Ryan O'Neal's 26-year-old son Redmond got one hell of a parting gift during his sentencing last week for a probation violation -- a state-of-the-art GPS monitoring bracelet. Redmond's probation was revoked in September -- after he allegedly snuck out of rehab and ordered drugs on a payphone -- and last week, a judge sent him back to the treatment facility ... with the monitoring device around his ankle. the device features real-time cameras that take a snapshot of Redmond's whereabouts every five minutes -- and if he steps outside his assigned area, an alarm goes off. Redmond -- who's had a long history battling drugs -- pled no contest to drug and weapons charges back in August ... and was sentenced to a year in rehab. If Redmond screws up again, he faces up to six years in prison.

Isaiah Rider Arrested for Violating Probation
Former NBA Slam Dunk champion Isaiah "J.R." Rider is a total flake who blew off his required domestic violence classes and failed to complete 90 hours of community service. Rider -- who was arrested for assaulting his wife last year -- was busted in Arizona for violating his probation Tuesday ... but in court, he had no idea what he did wrong. According to the docs, Rider completely ignored his probation requirements -- which included 100 hours of community service, (he only did 10), completion of domestic violence classes, submitting to a urinalysis test and paying fines. Rider's probation officer TRASHED the former NBA star in court papers, saying Rider's "failure to participate in treatment after so many opportunities appears to reinforce his lack of intent to successfully complete probation." Cops also believe Rider is a flight risk -- and want to keep him locked up. Rider is due back in court on Oct. 11.

'Steve Jobs' bio moves up release date, sees pre-orders rise

An authorized biography of Steve Jobs was high on best-seller lists within hours of Apple’s announcement of his death. And publisher Simon & Schuster announced Thursday that the release date has been moved up from Nov. 21 to Oct. 24. As of early Thursday morning, Walter Isaacson’s Steve Jobs was No. 1 on Amazon.com and No. 3 on Barnes & Noble.com. Fittingly, the book also tops Apple’s own list: the iTunes books best-seller list. Isaacson’s book includes extensive interviews with the Apple co-founder, who rarely discussed his private life. Isaacson has written best-selling biographies of Albert Einstein and Benjamin Franklin. Jobs died Wednesday at age 56 after a long battle with cancer.

Sharon Osbourne Has Breast Implants Removed

Sharon Osbourne had plenty to talk about when she returned to The Talk. Though the co-host claimed she had taken a hiatus from the daytime talk show to spend time with her rocker husband Ozzy Osbourne, she admitted on the air Thursday that her absence was due to a problem with her breast implants. "One morning I woke up and one of my boobies was kind of much longer than the other ... So I'm thinking, this isn't right," Osbourne, who turns 59 on Sunday, said. Her surgeon told her one of her implants had "leaked into the wall of my stomach," so she had them removed and has gone back to her natural assets. "I don't feel like I have a water bed laying on my chest anymore," Osbourne said. Sharon's other big news was the engagement of her son Jack Osbourne to Lisa Stelly, who got her seal of approval. "I like her so much," she told viewers, "because my son absolutely adores her."

'Simpsons' producers agree to pay cuts

Several top-level producers of The Simpsons have agreed to take pay cuts to keep the long-running animated show on the air, sources confirm. Some — though not all — of the producers of the Fox series have indicated they’re willing to have their pay reduced to continue the series beyond its current record-setting 23rd season. The cast, however, have yet to agree to terms with the studio. Simpsons studio 20th Century Fox TV has demanded a 45 percent pay cut and the voice actors countered with a 30 percent reduction, plus a piece of the back end. The studio rejected that proposal. Fox has previously declared the iconic hit is no longer sustainable under its current deal and is demanding salary reductions in order for the series to continue. Some are hoping a deal will be reached, but one Fox executive has said the series will come to an end next year.

Visionary Apple co-founder Steve Jobs dies at 56
Steve Jobs, the Apple founder and former CEO who invented and masterfully marketed ever-sleeker gadgets that transformed everyday technology, from the personal computer to the iPod and iPhone, has died. He was 56. Apple announced his death without giving a specific cause. He had been battling pancreatic cancer. "Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve." Sarah Palin decides not to run for president in 2012

Sarah Palin said on Wednesday that she will not seek the Republican U.S. presidential nomination in 2012, ending months of speculation and leaving the Republican field largely settled. Palin had left the door open to a run but gave little sign of joining the race to challenge Democratic President Barack Obama. She made it official in a letter to supporters and in an interview with conservative talk radio host Mark Levin. "After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for president of the United States," she said in the letter. Her decision leaves Republican voters to choose from a field that is led by former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, Texas Governor Rick Perry, and businessman Herman Cain, and includes a host of others. Her announcement came a day after New Jersey Governor Chris Christie opted against running.

A Black Bond?
British actor Idris Elba, who starred as the infamous character Stringer Bell on HBO’s The Wire was asked at a recent press junket for his show Luther about the possibility of taking over the Bond reigns after current star Daniel Craig finished his last contracted film as 007. In the past, Craig has also gone on record to say that Elba would be the perfect candidate. When asked about the “rumor,” Elba said “I would do it, but I don’t want to be called the first black James Bond. Do you understand what I’m saying? Sean Connery wasn’t the Scottish James Bond and Daniel Craig wasn’t the blue-eyed James Bond. So if I played him, I don’t want to be called the black James Bond.”

1) College drop-out: Like Mark Zuckerberg who dropped out of Harvard to create facebook, Steve Jobs had better things to do than go to school. He attended Reed College in Portland, Oregon, but dropped out after 6 months. He got a job with Atari and a year later he co-founded Apple.

2) He co-founded Pixar: Jobs was so successful with Apple that a lot of people don't know that in 1986 Steve Jobs purchased the animation studio, Pixar, for $5 million and gave the company an additional $5 million to experiment with animation. Jobs was also one of the people responsible for the sale of Pixar to Disney nearly 20 years later.

3) He was adopted: Steve Jobs' biological mother gave him up for adoption one week after giving birth. She was unmarried and was also in graduate school. Jobs was then adopted by and Armenian husband and wife, Paul and Clara Hagopian. In the 90's he decided to track down his long lost sister whom he finally met when he was 27. Not surprisingly his sister, Mona Simpson is a successful author and UCLA professor.

4) He's a Buddhist: He was such a hardcore Zen Buddhist that he almost thought about joining a monastery and becoming a monk. He was married in a Buddhist tradition by a Zen monk who was his own personal guru.

5) He was a player: Before Jobs married his wife Laurene Powell in 1991. He dated Hollywood starlets (at the time) like Dianne Keaton and Joan Baez. He also fathered a child with a woman named Chrisann Brennan but denied paternity, claiming he was sterile. He later acknowledged paternity. In 1989, Jobs spoke at Stanford's graduate business school and met his wife, Laurene Powell, who was then a student. When she became pregnant, Jobs at first refused to marry her. It was a near-repeat of what had happened more than a decade earlier with then-girlfriend Brennan, Deutschman said, but eventually Jobs relented.

6) Their first creation was the Apple I — essentially, the guts of a computer without a case, keyboard or monitor. The Apple II, which hit the market in 1977, was their first machine for the masses. It became so popular that Jobs was worth $100 million by age 25.

7) He was fired from Apple: He created Apple at the age of 20 out of his parents garage with his friend Steve Wozniak. After 10 years growing the company and right as he turned 30, he had a falling out with Wozniak and the board of directors sided with Wozniak and Jobs was fired. However, he said it was the best thing that ever happened to him. "The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again," he once said.

8) He made Apple famous: After 10 years away from Apple he returned in 1996, a company that struggled through most of the late 80's and 90's. Remember those chunky Mac computers of the 90's? Me neither. That was the period when Steve Jobs wasn't doing his magic over at Apple. A few years later in 2001 he developed the Ipod and never looked back.

9) He doesn't eat meat: He's actually a Pescetarian, which means he eats fish but no other meat. He will eat eggs and dairy and anything else a vegetarian would eat.

10) Steve Jobs estimated net worth is $8.3 Billion: He was number #39 on Forbes list of the Richest People in America in 2011.

'Simpsons' studio says show cannot continue without cutting costs

Is Homer about to utter his final ‘D’oh!’? The producers of The Simpsons and the voice actors are currently at an impasse in negotiations for a new deal that would allow for new episodes of the animated Fox comedy beyond the current season. 20th Century Fox Television, the studio that produces the series — which, in its 23rd season, is the longest running prime-time comedy in TV history — has asked the voice actors to take a 45-percent pay cut to renew their contracts for additional seasons. 20th Century Fox issued an ultimatum to the actors — Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer — to take a 45 percent pay cut or the show will end. Per the report, the offer was made Monday evening after the sextet, who each make $8 million a year, last week proposed a 30 percent pay cut in exchange for a small percentage of the show's back-end profits, which includes syndication and merchandising. Contract negotiations between the show and the voice actors have turned tense on several occasions; in the late ’90s, the studio warned that it would replace the actors before a new deal was ultimately reached. "Fox is taking the position that unless they can cut the production costs really drastically, they'll pull the plug on new shows," a source says. "The show has made billions in profits over the years and will continue to do so as far as the eye can see down the road. The actors are willing to take a pay cut of roughly a third, but that's not good enough for Fox. ... Fox is basically saying, 'If you don't take this deal, we'll shut down the show,' and they'll continue to make a ton of money." If the actors accept the offer, they would each make about $4 million.

Kat Von D recording her first album

Paris Hilton. Kim Kardashian. Heidi Montag. These are reality TV stars who released albums. Using rudimentary skills in logic and pattern making, we can determine the following, irrefutable law: Reality TV stars make terrible music. However, this newly coined scientific law is not deterring "LA Ink" tattoo impresario Kat Von D. Von D is in the middle of recording her first album. "I've been passionate about music all my life...I've been playing classical piano since I was six. So I understand the form, but it will be fun to able to translate a message." "I think it's much like tattooing or the TV show or makeup, my clothing line, fashion...All those things, they're just different outlets to be able to be creative. So music, I think it's going to be one of those things."

Thomas Jane Says He Turned Gay Tricks as a Homeless Teen Actor
Thomas Jane's fictional character in HBO's Hung moonlights as a male prostitute, and now the actor has revealed that he experimented in the sex industry too when he was a struggling teenage actor. "When I was a kid out here in L.A., I was homeless, I didn't have any money and I was living in my car. I was 18. I wasn't averse to going down to Santa Monica Boulevard and letting a guy buy me a sandwich. Know what I mean?" said Jane in an interview with the L.A. Times, referring to the predominately homosexual Los Angeles enclave of West Hollywood. "Hey, you grow up as an artist in a big city, as James Dean said, you're going to have one arm tied behind your back if you don't accept people's sexual flavors," Jane explained, comparing his pre-fame money making attempts to that of another Hollywood heart throb. "You're a lot more open to experimentation as a young man. And for me, being a young artist and broke in Los Angeles, I was exploring my sexual identity," Jane went on to say. "And probably because of my middle-class, white blue-collar upbringing, I would have never had the opportunity to confront some of my own fears and prejudices had I not been hungry enough to be forced to challenge myself in that way." The remarkably candid confession from the actor came in response to backlash he had gotten from the gay media over a previous interview. "I think they took my comment that it would be the last year of the show when I ended up with a (penis) in my mouth, think they took that comment to be anti-gay. And then I got a chance to explain myself a little further, and I think people respected the explanation that I gave," he told the L.A. Times. "And then you actually have a choice, and I chose to be a heterosexual guy because that's what my DNA dictates and my nurture dictates that I am," said Jane, whose divorce from actress Patricia Arquette was finalized in June despite the couple's attempts at reconciliation.

ESPN pulls 'Monday Night Football' intro

ESPN pulled Hank Williams Jr.'s classic intro song from its broadcast of Monday night's NFL game after the country singer famous for the line ''Are you ready for some football?'' used an analogy to Adolf Hitler in discussing President Barack Obama. In an interview Monday morning on Fox News' ''Fox & Friends,'' Williams, unprompted, said of Obama's outing on the links with House Speaker John Boehner: ''It'd be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu.'' Asked to clarify, Williams said, ''They're the enemy,'' adding that by ''they'' he meant Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. Anchor Gretchen Carlson later said to him, ''You used the name of one of the most hated people in all of the world to describe, I think, the president.'' Williams replied, ''Well, that is true. But I'm telling you like it is.'' ''While Hank Williams Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize that he is closely linked to our company through the open to 'Monday Night Football,''' the network said in a statement. ''We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight's telecast.'' Williams released a statement through his publicist, saying: ''Some of us have strong opinions and are often misunderstood. My analogy was extreme — but it was to make a point. I was simply trying to explain how stupid it seemed to me — how ludicrous that pairing was. They're polar opposites and it made no sense. They don't see eye-to-eye and never will. I have always respected the office of the president.'' ESPN did not say whether the intro, synonymous with ''Monday Night Football'' since 1989, would be used again after this week's Colts- Buccaneers game. ''Every time the media brings up the tea party it's painted as racist and extremists — but there's never a backlash — no outrage to those comparisons,'' Williams' statement continued. ''Working-class people are hurting — and it doesn't seem like anybody cares. When both sides are high-fiving it on the ninth hole when everybody else is without a job — it makes a whole lot of us angry. Something has to change. The policies have to change.'' ESPN covered the story during ''SportsCenter'' and the pregame show but did not mention the song's absence at the start of the game telecast when fans would normally be hearing ''Are you ready for some football?'' Instead of a music video, viewers just saw clips of both teams and heard a voice-over about the matchup. The song ''All My Rowdy Friends Are Here on Monday Night'' is a remixed version of his 1984 hit ''All My Rowdy Friends are Coming Over Tonight.'' The version won Williams four Emmy Awards in the early 1990s as the opening theme to ''Monday Night Football,'' then on ABC.

Third drug arrest for Packers' Jolly

Suspended Green Bay Packers defensive lineman Johnny Jolly was jailed after his third drug arrest in three years. Jolly was charged Saturday with possession of a compound containing codeine. He also was charged with tampering with evidence for attempting to conceal the substance from investigators, according to records. In April, Jolly pleaded guilty to a drug possession charge and was sentenced to probation after striking the deal with prosecutors that wiped out a similar charge from March and spared him any time in prison unless he stumbled again. Jolly had faced up to 20 years in prison if he had been convicted of possessing at least 200 grams of codeine, a controlled substance. That arrest came outside a Houston club three years ago. The plea agreement called for five years of deferred adjudication, a form of probation that allowed the conviction to be removed from his record if he stayed out of trouble. State District Judge Denise Bradley also ordered Jolly to undergo drug treatment at an inpatient facility for 90 days, barred him from going to bars or nightclubs and ordered him not to drink or use drugs while on probation. She also warned Jolly that if he violated any terms of his probation, she'd send him to prison.

Wade-Stern spat as NBA talks stall

Not even the presence of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony could move the sides closer to an NBA labor agreement, the New York Post reported Saturday. In fact, it may have moved them further apart in the cordiality department. Wade shouted at commissioner David Stern during the lowlight of a tempestuous five-hour negotiation Friday that nearly ended the proceedings prematurely. The talks in New York produced no deal and could have created ill feelings stemming from the Wade incident. Stern holds grudges. Players Association executive director Billy Hunter Jr. said he does not expect an agreement by this weekend. A person debriefed on the meeting confirmed that Wade got ticked off when Stern, during his spiel, started pointing his finger at Wade. "Don't point your finger at me," the Heat superstar screamed at Stern. "I'm not a child." ESPN reported that Wade, James and Anthony threatened to leave the talks early before Hunter talked them into staying another hour.  "There are times when it's contentious," union president Derek Fisher said, without referring to a specific incident. "Guys are very passionate about their opinions. There are also times you really talk and show the type of professional respect. When you have as much at stake as we all do, you have to expect some ups and downs within the meetings." "I don't think it's going to get done this weekend, but the points were clearly articulated," Hunter said outside the Park Avenue hotel. "[Owners] understand from a players' perspective what our position is."
