Nikki Cox & Jay Mohr Welcome a Boy

It's a happy Cinco de Mayo for Jay Mohr and Nikki Cox, who welcomed their first child together on Thursday. Cox, 32, gave birth to a baby boy, Meredith Daniel Mohr, who weighed in at 6 lbs. 7 oz. Mohr, 40, and Cox were married in 2006 at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles.


Bryan Adams Is a Dad

The rocker-photographer and co-founder of his foundation, Alicia Grimaldi, welcomed a daughter last month, his rep confirmed. "I'm really proud to announce on 22 April, Mirabella Bunny was born," says Adams, 51. "She arrived like all good Easter bunnies on Easter Friday," Adams added. "Mother and baby are both well and happy. Thanks in advance for your kind thoughts and wishes." Adams is set to resume his world tour in June, which includes more U.S. dates starting in August.


Hines Ward Mistakenly Handcuffed in L.A.

Hines Ward has been letting loose on Dancing with the Stars, but he was considerably more restrained – handcuffed, in fact – during a traffic stop in Los Angeles early Thursday. The Pittsburgh Steelers star, 35, and the female driver of the car were briefly handcuffed after police believed the vehicle was stolen. In fact, the driver herself had reported the car stolen, and had failed to alert police when she recovered it. "It was an obvious mistake," Ward's rep, Andrew Ree, says of the situation. "The police were doing their job." 


Nicolas Cage in the Clear on New Orleans Case
The actor was arrested on suspicion of domestic abuse battery, disturbing the peace and public drunkenness in New Orleans last month, and now we learn that the 47-year-old will face zero charges. "The New Orleans District Attorney has confirmed that no charges of any kind will be pursued against him," Cage's attorney Harry Rosenberg says. "After their investigation, the DAs refused all charges against Nick and the matter has been closed. "We are pleased that the process led to the correct result, despite inaccurate media reports, and that Nick has been cleared and all charges have been dropped."

Palin, 20, did not respond immediately to request for comment. 


Blake Shelton Apologizes for Offending Gays on Twitter

Blake Shelton stuck his boot in his mouth, but now The Voice coach is apologizing. It all started when Shelton, 34,Tweeted on Tuesday his own version of a Shania Twain song: "Any man that tries touching my behind, he's gonna be a beaten, bleedin,' heaving kind of guy." Within hours, the country crooner, who is engaged to Miranda Lambert, was attacked by a slew of angry Tweeters, along with GLAAD, which wrote, "No, @BlakeShelton – violent, anti-gay statements are not what a woman wants. Apologize now. #LGBT #gay #thevoice @NBCTheVoice." Shelton later apologized on the social networking site for what he called a "misunderstanding with the whole re-write on the Shania song." "It honestly wasn't even meant that way," he wrote. "I now know that their (sic) are people out there waiting to jump at everything I say on here or anywhere. But when it comes to gay/lesbian rights or just feelings... I love everybody. So go look for a real villain and leave me out of it!!!" Shelton later added, "@glaad hey I want my fans and @nbcthevoice fans to know that anti-gay and lesbian violence is unacceptable!!!!!" 

Beyonce Releases “God Bless America” In Honor of 9/11

In remembrance of the September 11th attacks almost ten years ago, Beyonce has released her version of the classic “God Bless the USA.” The release coincides with President Obama’s visit to Ground Zero, as the administration announced the death of the man who orchestrated the attacks, Osama bin Laden. “God Bless America” has been part of the cannon of patriotic songs ever since it was originally recorded by country artist Lee Greenwood in 1984. In 2008, when then candidate Senator Barack Obama was running for the White House, Beyonce sang it during an appearance for his campaign. Now, with a studio-recorded version of the song, Beyonce is paying tribute to the men and women who lost their lives on that dark day as well as those servicemen and women who have fought for the country’s secrurity and freedoms since. The single debuted today on iTunes and will be featured on CNN‘s “Piers Morgan Tonight” tonight.


Schwarzenegger planning to star in drama 'Cry Macho'
Arnold Schwarzenegger has added another project on his to-do list for when he returns to Hollywood after serving as California governor. Schwarzenegger spokesman Alan Mendelsohn said that the actor plans to star in the drama "Cry Macho" for Academy Award-winning producer Albert Ruddy ("The Godfather," "Million Dollar Baby"). It's one of several projects Schwarzenegger has in the works, including a "Terminator" tale and the crime saga "The Last Stand." In "Cry Macho," Schwarzenegger would play a down-on-his-luck horse trainer hired to kidnap his former boss's young son from his ex-wife in Mexico.

'Waiting to Exhale' cast to reunite for sequel, says Angela Bassett
Angela Bassett has confirmed rumors that she's reuniting with Whitney Houston for a sequel to the 1995 film "Waiting to Exhale." The hit romantic movie, about the love lives of four female friends in Phoenix, was a big-screen adaptation of Terry McMillan's 1992 book of the same name, and Bassett says the follow-up, based on the author's 2005 novel "Getting to Happy," is in the works. She says the full original cast, including Loretta Devine and Lela Rochon, is on board for the upcoming project, which will see Forest Whitaker returning as director.

This will be his first trip to the country in an official capacity. Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cambridge, 29, has never before visited the United States of America officially or privately.


Nicks: Lohan will never play me until she gets serious
Rocker Stevie Nicks insists she'll never give Lindsay Lohan the OK to play her in a biopic -- until she proves her worth as a serious actress. Lohan has expressed an interest in portraying theFleetwood Mac singer, but Nicks wants the actress to prove she's no longer a mess first. The singer says, "That's never going to happen unless she cleans up her life and becomes the great actress I feel she can be." But Nicks insists that doesn't mean she's not a fan of the "Mean Girls" star, who has spent the last 18 months jumping between jail and rehab after a series of personal lows. She adds, "Everybody thinks I hate her, and it's not that at all. I just want her to get it together. "I was completely messed up for a long time and I got it together. She's a very talented girl... If she could get it together, she could have a really big career and she could do great things."
©ABC ABC introduced the world to the latest iteration of the "Charlie's Angels" dynasty on Thursday, releasing the first official picture of Annie Ilonzeh, Rachael Taylor and Minka Kelly in the network's upcoming revamp of the '70s series. "Friday Night Lights" and "Parenthood" vet Kelly and her colleagues will be joined by Ramon Rodriguez, who'll assume the role of Bosley, and Robert Wagner, who'll provide the voice of the Angels' mysterious boss Charlie, in the fall 2011 pilot.

With Desperate Housewives‘ renewal assured now that series’ stars have have re-signed, Brothers & Sisters remains the only veteran ABC series not picked up for next season. Sources are now confirming that the network is exploring the idea of bringing the show back for an abbreviated sixth and final season that may feature less of Calista Flockhart’s Kitty.

CBS is no longer willing to give Katie Couric her own talks show. CBS was interested in keeping Couric in the family with a daytime syndicated program, but the negotiations have bogged down over the issue of how much of a role Couric can have at CBS News. CBS has the largest syndication operation in the TV business, responsible for shows like Judge Judy, Wheel of Fortune, Entertainment Tonight, Dr. Phil and The Oprah Winfrey Show. 

Pretty Little Liars‘ second season premieres on ABC Family.

Famous rocker Ted Nugent is going all Donald Trump and throwing his hat in the presidential ring — onThe Simpsons. Nugent will lend his voice to the animated Fox staple next season, playing himself — albeit his “Republican candidate for president who seeks Homer’s endorsement”-self.

Survivor creator Marc Burnett has been tapped to produce the 63rd Annual Primetime Emmys, airing September 18 on Fox.

MTV has revealed that its original Teen Mom castmembers — Amber Portwood, Catelynn Lowell, Farrah Abraham and Maci Bookout — will be returning for the docu-series’ third season, premiering July 5. Additionally, the cabler has renewed Mom for a fourth season.

Jersey Shore is headed to Italy, and lets just say the locals are less than thrilled about it. A local campus sent their students a letter warning them against mingling with the cast, signing papers to appear on the show or even helping guide them. officials at the Istituto Lorenzo de' Medici fired off a letter to students saying: "Dear Students, Our Housing dept. has informed us that starting May 9th there will be shootings inside the 2nd floor apartment of your building. We advise you to NOT sign any paper, let anyone in, and keep us informed."

The infamous lowbrow reality show has a couple of spin-offs already in the works, and the latest news is: Mike "the Situation" Sorrentino has a development deal with MTV. The Situation is expected to film a pilot for his series later on this year. MTV already has two spin-offs they're working on: one featuring Snooki and JWoww, and the other featuring Pauly D.
