Donna Summer Is Dead Donna Summer Is Dead| Death, Tributes, Music News, Donna Summer Donna Summer, whose pulsating hits "I Feel Love," "Last Dance" and "MacArthur Park" provided the disco soundtrack for the 1970s, has died at age 63. Her family confirmed Summer's death, saying in a statement that they "are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy." "Words truly can't express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time," the statement continued. A onetime backup singer for Three Dog Night, Summer, who was born LaDonna Gaines, hit the American charts with the sexually charged "Love to Love You Baby," released in 1975 amid controversy that it was too steamy for radio. The song gained popularity, though, and became a huge favorite in discotheques. The five-time Grammy winner went on to release a string of dance-friendly songs whose overt sexuality clashed with Summer's strict Christian upbringing in a family of seven children in Boston. "I Feel Love" became a top 10 single in 1977 and her disco interpretation of the ballad "MacArthur Park" in 1978 was her first number one song. "Last Dance" from the Thank God It's Friday soundtrack earned Summer her first Grammy. The singles "Bad Girls" and "Hot Stuff" from her prostitution-themed concept album – Summer poses as a hooker on the cover – both hit number one, as did her duet "No More Tears (Enough is Enough)" with Barbra Streisand. But as Summer sang hit after hit she struggled with her meteoric fame and the fast life. She battled depression and anxiety, suffered an addiction to prescription medication and attempted suicide. As disco waned at the end of the 1970s, so did Summer's career in the United States, though she continued to have modest success in Europe and scored occasional hits on the U.S. dance and R&B charts. Her marriage to actor Helmuth Summer, which produced a daughter, collapsed in the mid-1970s. She later married singer Bruce Sudano, and the couple had two children, also daughters.  The two were living together in Englewood, Fla. She released her final album, Crayons, in 2008 – her first studio recording in 17 years.

Mary Kennedy, the estranged wife of Robert F. Kennedy, committed suicide by hanging herself, the Westchester County Medical Examiner confirmed. The body of Kennedy, 52, was discovered Wednesday in the garage of her home in Mount Kisco, N.Y., by a housekeeper. Bedford, N.Y., police were called to the home at 1:36 p.m. Wednesday to investigate a "possible unattended death." Police confirmed they found a "deceased individual" on the property, owned by Mary and Robert Kennedy. Robert, the son of former U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy, filed for divorce from Mary in May 2010 after 16 years of marriage. They had four children together.
Nick Stahl's Wife Says He Is Missing Terminator 3 actor Nick Stahl has been reported missing since May 9, but don't expect a major police manhunt. "Were not treating it like a crime," says LAPD Detective Carmine Sasso, who is overseeing the investigation. "We're not pounding the pavement or knocking on doors on this one, just networking." The actor, 32, has experienced a number of personal problems. He's been separated from his wife Rose since January, and in February she filed court papers seeking child support for their 2-year-old daughter.Rose filed the missing person's report on Monday. "Certain factors are contributing to him being missing," says Sasso. "There's really nothing mysterious about it," he adds.

Many people have got all fired up about the news that Lauryn Hill’s ex, Rohan Marley will marry model Isabeli Fontana. The couple has started dating last year, right after Rohan called it quits with Lauryn Hill. It’s likely that Rohan Marley became more famous due to his longtime romance with Lauryn Hill, than for being Bob Marley’s son. They’ve had quite a tormented relationship, with them dating on and off for 15 years. Since 1996 until 2011, Fugees singer Lauryn Hill and Rohan Marley were a couple and had five children together, without once tying the knot. So given how long the two of them have been together and their five children, it’s easy to understand why there are people outraged by his upcoming marriage to model Isabeli Fontana. Not to mention that the news about the marriage was first shared by the model herself, in Veja magazine. Isabeli Fontana, now Rohan Marley’s fiancée, told the magazine the wedding is set to happen in Ethiopia, the birth place of the Rastafarian movement. “Rohan told me we have to return to the roots so the marriage will last forever” added the model. Rohan Marley is quite a ladies’ man. The marriage to the 28-year-old model is going to be his second, but it’s not even his longest relationship. Not to mention, he is already a dad for seven kids: five with Lauryn Hill and two from his marriage to Geraldine Khawly. But Isabeli isn’t at her first wedding also. She was married twice and has two sons. The first marriage to model Alvaro Jacomossi resulted in a Zion, now nine years old, while her second marriage, to Henri Castelli, left her with Lucas, now age 5.  Isabeli lives in Sao Paulo, Brazil and Rohan in New York, U.S.

Banderas will play the famed artist and Paltrow is up to play his lover Dora Maar, a Spanish-speaking French photographer who snapped the stages of "Guernica's" creation. Michael Vick's wedding date announced
Michael Vick is finally going to marry his long-time fiancé, Kijaga Frink, next month. The quarterback proposed to the mother of his two children, back in December of 2009. Vick and Frink will wed on June 30 before 300 guests at the Fountainbleu Miami Beach. The 31-year-old NFL star will turn 32 just days before his nuptials next month. After signing with the Eagles, Vick went on to become the starting quarterback who led the team to the 2011 NFL Playoffs as NFC East Champions. Despite starting only 11 games and only playing in 12 games, Vick set career highs in passing yards, passing percentage, quarterback rating, passing touchdowns, and rushing touchdowns. In 2010, the athlete was named NFL Comeback Player of the Year, and was selected to his fourth Pro Bowl.

Chuck Brown, the Godfather of Go-Go, Dies at 75

Chuck Brown, who fused funk, soul and Latin sounds into an entirely new party music called go-go in Washington, D.C., in the 1970s, has died at 75 after suffering pneumonia. Brown, a guitarist, singer and songwriter affectionately dubbed the "godfather of go-go," died Wednesday from complications of sepsis at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore. He had been hospitalized since April 18. Go-go music was a point of pride for black Washingtonians, and Brown – an ex-con who became one of the city's most beloved figures – remained its most charismatic performer. He performed less often but still regularly in his final years. Brown was nominated for his first and only Grammy Award in 2011, for best rhythm-and-blues performance by a duo or group with vocals for "Love," a collaboration with singer Jill Scott and bassist Marcus Miller.
Robert F. Kennedy's Wife, Mary Kennedy, Found Dead Mary Kennedy, the estranged second wife of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has died. She was 52. "We deeply regret the death of our beloved sister Mary, whose radiant and creative spirit will be sorely missed by those who loved her," Mary Kennedy's family said in a statement released through her lawyer Kerry Lawrence. "Our heart goes out to her children who she loved without reservation. Mary was found dead at her Bedford, N.Y., home on Wednesday. Police issued a statement confirming they were investigating a "possible unattended death" at her home on Wednesday afternoon. Police reports also confirm that officers found "a deceased individual … inside an out building on that property." But the report withheld the individual's name. In May 2010, Robert, the son of former U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, filed for divorce from Mary after 16 years of marriage. At the time of the filing, police were summoned to Kennedy's home for a "domestic incident," according to reports. Robert, a radio host and environmental activist, alleged his wife was intoxicated. Three days later, Mary was arrested for driving while intoxicated after police spotted her running over a curb near her home. Police said she had a .11 blood alcohol level. She pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, was fined $500 and had her license suspended for 90 days. In August 2010, she was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after speeding down the Taconic State Parkway. She was determined to be under the influence of prescription medication. Mary is survived by Robert, 58, and their children Conor, Kyra, William and Aiden.

Marvin Winans Carjacked
Pastor Marvin Winans was carjacked at a Detroit gas station earlier today.  Winans was pumping gas when some scumbags roughed him up and stole the 54-year-old's Infiniti QX56 SUV. The pastor said  he had a feeling this was "not a good situation" when he first saw the group of  guys who eventually jumped him.Winans -- whose family is legendary in the gospel music world -- was not seriously injured, but his son, Marvin Winans Jr., said his dad has checked into a hospital to get treatment. According to police, 4 suspects jacked an undisclosed amount of cash from Winans, and got away in the SUV. They describe three of the suspects as Black males. John Travolta Accuser No. 1 Hires Gloria Allred

John Doe Number One, whose accusations of misconduct against John Travolta seemed to unravel last week, has a new lawyer. "I represent John Doe Number One," famed civil rights attorney Gloria Allred confirmed. "Mr. Doe's lawsuit was dismissed without prejudice which means that he is still legally entitled to file another lawsuit against John Travolta if he chooses. We are in the process of conferring with him regarding the next steps, which he may wish to take. Our client and our firm has no further comment at this time." Allred has a long history of taking on sexual misconduct cases against A-list celebs, including allegations against Tiger Woods and Arnold Schwarzenegger, among others. Doe Number One alleged in a $2 million lawsuit filed May 4 that the actor exposed himself and acted inappropriately while receiving a massage in L.A. on Jan. 16. But his lawyer, Okorie Okorocha, withdrew him from the suit after Travolta's attorney, Marty Singer, provided evidence that suggested the actor was in New York at the time. A second lawsuit filed by Okorocha on behalf of an Atlanta-based massage therapist still remains active. Singer has vehemently denied the allegations as "false" and "absurd," adding, "People are going to come forward to get their 15 minutes of fame."
The Wiggles Three members of the children's music quartet The Wiggles will be hanging up their colorful outfits and leaving the Australian band this year, with the Blue Wiggle the lone original member left dancing. Jeff Fatt (Purple Wiggle), Murray Cook (Red Wiggle) and Greg Page (Yellow Wiggle) will leave after the group wraps up a "Celebration Tour" that begins this month and ends in Australia in December, the band said in a statement Thursday. The trio will no longer perform but will take on backstage, creative roles. Three replacements have already been chosen to join Anthony Field (Blue Wiggle), who helped found the group in 1991. Since then, the group has earned worldwide renown with dozens of pop-influenced children's albums, concert tours and a television show featuring singing, jumping, dancing and skits with recurring characters like Wags the Dog and Henry the Octopus. The demands of touring and performing have taken their toll, and the three departing members want to spend more time with their families, Cook said. "We've been entertaining children around the world for 21 years and it's important that we plan for the future so that The Wiggles can keep wiggling in the years to come," Cook said in the statement. Performers Emma Watkins, Lachlan Gillespie, and Simon Pryce will become the new Yellow, Purple and Red Wiggles, respectively.

Bold And The Beautiful' Star Reveals She's A Lesbian

"Bold and the Beautiful" star Joanna Johnson has become the daytime soap opera world's only "out" actor currently on a series, revealing in an exclusive interview that she's a lesbian. The 50-year-old Johnson, whose longtime "The Bold and the Beautiful" character Karen has been living a secret life as a lesbian, says she's married to L.A. club promoter Michelle Agnew, with whom she has two children, five-year-old Julian and Harlow, two. Johnson, says she came out to her parents at the age of 23, but professionally she's chosen to stay in the closet until now. Johnson told writer Michael Logan that she kept mum on her personal life for so long out of "fear of rejection" as an actress. "I was so worried I wouldn't be employable as an actress if people knew I was a lesbian," she said. "Or that I wouldn't be believable in romance stories. I had to deal with a lot of self-loathing." On her personal life mirroring that of her "Beautiful" character Karen, who is both married to a woman (Crystal Chappell) and mother to Caroline (Lindsay Godfrey), Johnson proclaims, "I guess that's why I'm ready to open up. It feels weird and wrong to play this revelation about Karen's life and not talk about my own."

Deion Sanders has been ordered to pay $10,500/month in child support to his ex, Pilar Sanders, and a whopping $275,000 to cover her legal fees. The NFL legend did get some good news today in court -- he was not ordered to pay spousal support. Pilar was also ordered to return six containers of Deion's property by July 1. This is the latest chapter in their ongoing, incredibly nasty legal war. Just last week, Deion was granted a restraining order against Pilar ... ordering her to stay at least 500 yards away from his Dallas mansion.

The 37-year-old was the first of Woods' mistresses to expose his numerous affairs in 2009, leading to his divorce from Elin Nordegren in August 2010 and a break from competitive golf. She secretly wed businessman Hahn at Las Vegas' Little White Wedding Chapel last October. The pair met in November 2010 and moved to San Francisco shortly before the wedding.

As Usher and ex-wife Tameka Foster's nasty custody battle continues, Foster fears she could be left homeless by the singer. Under their divorce settlement, Usher can sell the Georgia mansion which he owns and which Foster and their children, Usher Raymond V and Naviyd, are currently living in, provided he gives her 60 days notice. Foster has accrued legal debts and is asking the 33-year-old singer to give her and their sons the mansion as their permanent home -- a request which Usher has reportedly dismissed. The couple is scheduled to return to court at the end of the month. The property tiff is only the latest chapter in the singer's custody battle with Foster (she has reportedly requested full custody of the children). Earlier this month, a Georgia judge ordered the couple, who currently share custody, to work out a temporary custody agreement in private mediation. On May 5, Foster denied claims that she threatened to kill the R&B star, admitting under oath that she had told him, "I will f**k you up." The singer's divorce from Foster was finalized in 2009 after less than two years of marriage.

Bret Michaels settles with Tony Awards over 2009 stage accident
Bret Michaels has made peace with the Tony Awards. The Poison rocker has settled his lawsuit against the Tonys, over the injury he suffered while performing at the 2009 Tony Awards. The terms of the settlement will not be made public. "Mr. Michaels would like to thank his fans for their continued support," Michaels' attorney, Alex Weingarten, said of the settlement. Michaels filed the suit last March, naming the Tony Awards and CBS, which broadcast the awards ceremony. The 49-year-old was struck in the head by a descending set piece after completing the song "Nothin' But a Good Time" with the "Rock of Ages" cast at the Tonys. The lawsuit alleged that the injury may have been responsible for the subarachnoid hemorrhage he suffered in 2010. "One of the most common causes of this type of hemorrhage is head trauma -- exactly like the one Michaels suffered at the hands of the Tony Awards," the suit read. Michaels claimed that the producers neglected to warn him about any special "blocking" instructions that might have been necessary because of the scenery, which began to descend in preparation for a subsequent performance.
Usain Bolt ended his six-month relationship with a Slovakian fashion designer in order to focus on the upcoming Summer Olympics. News reports suggest Bolt's breakup with Lubica Slovak, 28, was because of his desire to repeat his double-gold/world-record Olympic performance in London. The Jamaican swept the sprint events in 2008 and set the world marks in each race. A source close to Bolt told The Sun, "He will have plenty of time for relationships. At the moment he's concentrating on his running career and doesn't want anything to distract from that."  Slovak emigrated to Canada as a teenager and later moved to Jamaica after she took a vacation there. She was introduced to Bolt by reggae singer Tami Chynn, a mutual friend. The sprinting star was criticized in his native Jamaica when a picture of him kissing Slovak, who is white, appeared in a local newspaper. A cartoon accompanied the photo, in which Bolt was seen running past a black woman with "local" written on her shirt and into the arms of a "Slovakian fashion designer."  The island's second-largest newspaper published letters to the editor criticizing Bolt's choice in women. Countless Internet comments angrily reacted to the Bolt-Slovak relationship.

Kurt Russell and Sacha Baron Cohen drop out of Quentin Tarantino film
Quentin Tarantino has been dealt a double blow after Kurt Russell and Sacha Baron Cohen both dropped out of his latest film project "Django Unchained." Russell was slated to team up with his "Death Proof" director once again in the violent western -- playing Ace Woody, a villainous trainer who pits slaves against each other, but Russell has now left the production. Kevin Coster was previously lined up to play Woody, and he pulled out because of scheduling difficulties.  There will be further reshuffling in the film as Cohen also pulled out from a planned appearance because of scheduling conflicts. The "Borat" star tells Howard Stern, "That was going to be a cameo, but I had to drop out because of 'The Dictator' press tour." There is no word yet on who will replace Russell in the movie, which stars Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz and Samuel L. Jackson.

Jennifer Hudson's Ex-Brother-in-Law Convicted of Family Murders

The jury in Chicago delivered its verdict against William Balfour, 31, after about 18 hours of deliberations. He faces a maximum penalty of life in prison. Hudson and her sister Julia said in a statement: "It is our prayer that the Lord will forgive Mr. Balfour of these heinous acts and bring his heart into repentance someday." John Travolta's First Accuser Parts Ways with Attorney

John Doe No. 1, the first anonymous masseur to make sexual allegations against John Travolta, is getting a new attorney but remains on the lawsuit for now. Lawyer Okorie Okorocha says his client, whose claims appeared to be contradicted by photos, a restaurant receipt, airline records and other evidence, "is getting new representation." A second masseur is still being represented by Okorocha, and the lawsuit continues to list both men as plaintiffs, though it could be amended at any time. Each masseur is seeking $2 million for alleged assault and battery by Travolta during massage sessions in Beverly Hills and Atlanta. Travolta's attorney has strongly denied the allegations as "absurd" and "fiction." Meanwhile, a third accuser has come forward. Fabian Zanzi, a former crew member of Royal Caribbean Cruises, alleges the actor exposed himself and offered to pay him $12,000 to have sex during a May 2009 cruise out of Miami. Travolta attorney Marty Singer dismissed the latest accusations. "This individual is simply hopping on the bandwagon to get his 15 minutes of fame by coming up with a story for the first time with something that supposedly happened over three years ago," Singer said. "Nobody has ever heard from this guy before. No lawyer has contacted us." A fourth masseur has come forward with sexual misconduct allegations against John Travolta. Former Peninsula Hotel employee Michael Caputo says the actor, 58, was placed on the swanky hotel spa's blacklist for over three years because of "inappropriate behavior" around spa staff. "Travolta would always request a man for his massage, but after a while no one would take him," Caputo shares. "It got to the point where they couldn't find any men to take him, and they had to ban him." According to Caputo, male employees accused the star of "removing his towel, grinding against the massage table and lifting his butt in the air." "These are signs to a massage therapist he was trying to see how much he could get away with," the former masseur explains. "They went to management." Following a complaint to hotel officials, Caputo says Travolta was eventually removed from the blacklist.

Lil Boosie Found Not Guilty in Murder Trial
After just an hour of deliberation, the jury in the first-degree murder trial of Torrance "Lil Boosie" Hatch returned a unanimous not-guilty verdict this afternoon in Baton Rouge, Louisiana's 19th Judicial District Courthouse. The 29-year old rapper had been accused of paying $2,800 to Michael "Marlo Mike" Louding to kill Terry Boyd on October 20th, 2009. "The state put on its best case, but all the evidence supported the defense – right down to the very last witness, Rochelle Wagner, the sister of Terry Boyd and the mother of [Hatch's] child," said one of Hatch's defense attorney's, Martin Regan. "She took the stand and said what everyone else reiterated: there was never any beef between [Hatch] and Terry Boyd." The defense team was so certain of the weakness of the state's case that it took the unusual step of declining to call up a single witness. "Based upon the burden of proof lying with the state, the defense rests with the witnesses the state has put on," Jason Williams told the court yesterday, merely 10 minutes after the prosecution rested its case.

Douglas County sheriff's deputies entered and searched Andersen's home in an investigation related to their Internet Crimes Against Children unit. The Nuggets, in turn, have excused Andersen indefinitely from all team functions. The department began investigating Andersen in February after receiving information from a law enforcement agency in California. Hanavan declined to release details, including the nature of any pending charges, citing an ongoing investigation. He said they're asking that the case be sealed. Andersen answered the door at his Larkspur, Colo., home, about 40 miles south of Denver, and let deputies in, said Deborah Sherman, another sheriff's spokesperson. ''He did cooperate. He spoke with deputies,'' Sherman said. The unit investigating Andersen investigates child porn, Internet luring, child predators and child pornography. Andersen has been a controversial figure before and was suspended from the NBA for two seasons due to several failed drug tests for unspecified "drugs of abuse," but this investigation is an entirely different kind of serious.

Reese Witherspoon's Mom: My Husband Married Another Woman

Reese Witherspoon's mother has launched a legal action against the actress's father in Tennessee, with Mary Elizabeth Witherspoon seeking to annul John Witherspoon's new marriage on the grounds he's still her husband. John, 70, described as a Nashville-based physician, married a woman named Tricianne Taylor, 60, in January, according to a certificate of marriage attached to the legal papers. The actress's mother, who goes by the first name Betty, filed a petition for annulment, saying, "No person in Tennessee can marry another while being married at the same time of the second marriage." "I love my husband and I don't want a divorce," Betty says in an affidavit. "We have been married 42 years. He needs help. He has a problem with alcohol. He also has a problem with hoarding, which led to our separation" in 1996. Since then, "We have lived in separate households," she says. According to the papers, John is an ear-nose-and-throat specialist who recently was "let go" from the medical practice due to personal problems, which Betty claims also include depression that worsened when his mother died in 2003. Betty, a retired nurse and university professor, found out about the marriage from a wedding announcement in the local newspaper. "When I confronted my husband, he said he didn't know who Tricianne Taylor was and that he did not remember getting married," Betty says in the affidavit. John tried to bring Taylor to Reese's wedding to Jim Toth in March 2011, Betty claims in the filing, but security would not let Taylor in because she was not on the guest list. Betty says she worries that Taylor will attempt to borrow money or "transfer marital assets" and that she tried contacting the woman. "She refused to talk to me," says Betty. "I wrote her a letter stating that John Witherspoon was married and had two children and four grandchildren. I have had no response. But she clearly knows now that she is married to a man who is not divorced."

Johnny Depp Denies Split with Vanessa Paradis

Four months after it was reported that Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis's relationship was all but finished, Depp denied that he and his partner of 14 years had split. "The rumors are not true. They are absolutely not true," the actor, 48, said on the red carpet for the London premiere of Dark Shadows. Still, conspicuously absent from the premiere was Paradis, who has not been seen publicly with Depp since reports about trouble between them. She also has not shared a red carpet with him in at least a year and a half. In January, Paradis was alone at the premiere of her own movie, Café de Flore. At the time, Paradis, 39 – a French singer, model and actress, and mother of two children with Depp – was evasive when asked about a split. In an interview with Stylist magazine, excerpted in Thursday's Sydney Morning Herald, in Australia, Paradis says, "I believe in love, and I want to believe that it lasts forever. But I'm like everyone else, you have to take things a day at a time and you can never know what comes next. All you can do is hope and love and live." Depp's comments at his movie premiere Monday mark the first time he has publicly addressed the issue. "No matter what I say about this, people believe the opposite," Depp said Wednesday. "I can't say enough about it not being over."
