Former Giants WR Robinson dies at 50

Stacy Robinson, a wide receiver who won two Super Bowls with the New York Giants before working with the players union, has died after a battle with cancer. He was 50. Queen Latifah to headline Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride Festival

Queen Latifah will headline the 29 th Annual Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride Festival next month, a spokesman said. The 42-year-old Grammy winner, who has a large following in the LGBT communities, will perform at the festival May 19. It's Latifah's first appearance ever at a gay pride festival, said Long Beach Pride co-president Pat Crosby. "For Queen Latifah to make her worldwide pride debut here in Long Beach is a tremendous testament to the popularity of our celebration and to the strength of our community," Crosby said. The festival and parade are the city's second largest event, drawing 80,000 to 85,000 people over two days. Though many people know Latifah (born Dana Elaine Owens) as a hip-hop singer, her credentials are more diverse. At 19, she released her debut CD, the 1989 hip-hop release "All Hail the Queen." After the release of her fourth hip-hop CD, 1998's "Order in the Court," Latifah shifted primarily to singing soul music and jazz standards. In 2004, she released the soul/jazz standards "The Dana Owens Album." Latifah is working on a new CD set to be released this year. The Pride Festival will take place May 19-20 along Shoreline Drive at Marina Green Park. The Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride Parade will take place at 10:30 a.m. May 20.

John Travolta Lawsuit: Second Masseur Comes Forward

A second masseur with allegations of sexual battery and harassment has been added to the lawsuit against John Travolta that was filed on Friday in California. The second plaintiff, also represented by Pasadena, Calif., attorney Okorie Okorocha, has remained anonymous, and accuses Travolta, 58, of improper behavior during a massage session at an Atlanta-area resort. In response to the new filing, Travolta's lawyer, Marty Singer, said in a statement, "This second 'anonymous' claim is just as absurd and ridiculous as the first one. The attorney who filed the lawsuit on behalf of his second anonymous client, who does not want to disclose his name although he is required to do so, was notified that his first client's claims were totally false and fabricated, since our client was not in L.A. when anonymous 'Doe #1' claims he interacted with John Travolta." The accusers' attorney, Okorocha, says: "The reason my clients are wishing to remain anonymous is because the public passes judgment on sexual harassment accusers and people who file lawsuits in general." "As for evidence, I don't want to show my cards at this time," says Okorocha, who claims to have "so much evidence" to support the claims against Travolta, including witnesses and photos of the actor in Atlanta at the time of the alleged incident. The alleged first incident purportedly took place in a bungalow at the Beverly Hills Hotel in January 2011. "Before the attorney for the two anonymous plaintiffs filed the claim on behalf of the second person who refuses to disclose his identity ... it is obvious that he checked media reports that my client was in Atlanta working on a movie," Travolta's attorney adds in his statement. "The claim by Doe #2 is just as fabricated as the claim by Doe #1. Our client will be fully vindicated in court on both of these absurd and fictional claims." The plaintiffs are seeking $2 million in damages each.

‘Where the Wild Things Are’ author Maurice Sendak dead at age 83

Maurice Sendak, the children’s author and illustrator best known for the 1963 classic “Where the Wild Things Are,” died Tuesday in Danbury, Conn., reportedly of complications from a stroke. He was 83. During the 1950s, Sendak illustrated children’s books by other authors before starting to write his own stories. When “Where the Wild Things Are” came out in 1963, its monstrous characters raised concerns from some parents, but the book quickly brought him international acclaim, including the prestigious Caldecott Medal. The book was adapted into a feature film in 2009. Sendak's work extended beyond printed media. He was an advisor to the Children's Television Workshop during the initial development of "Sesame Street" and worked on several animated stories for the show, including an adaptation of his book "Bumble Addy." Sendak lived with psychoanalyst Eugene Glynn for 50 years before Glynn's death in 2007.

John Travolta Sued for Sexual Assault of Masseur
John Travolta says the lawsuit claiming he sexually assaulted a masseur is a total lie ... and that he was 2,475 miles from the place it supposedly happened. The statement says, "This lawsuit is a complete fiction and fabrication.  None of the events claimed in the suit ever occurred." John is confident he will get the case thrown out and will sue the attorney and the masseur for malicious prosecution. According to the lawsuit, Travolta saw the masseur's ad online, and scheduled an appointment for $200 an hour. The masseur did not know it was Travolta when the appointment was booked, but followed instructions and met up with a black Lexus SUV, which Travolta was driving. Travolta and the masseur, who says he saw Trojan condoms in the center console, drove to the Beverly Hills Hotel and went to Travolta's bungalow. The suit claims Travolta stripped naked, appearing semi-erect. The masseur says he told Travolta to lay down on the table and the first hour went without incident. Then, according to legal docs, Travolta began rubbing the masseur's leg, touched his scrotum and the shaft of his penis. The masseur claims he told Travolta he did not have sex with his clients, but Travolta was undeterred, offering to do a "reverse massage," adding, "Come on dude, I'll jerk you off!!!" The suit goes on to allege Travolta then masturbated and told the masseur he got to where he was "due to sexual favors he had performed when he was in his 'Welcome Back Kotter' days," adding "Hollywood is controlled by homosexual Jewish men who expect favors in return for sexual activity." The masseur -- who is only listed as John Doe -- claims Travolta called him a loser, but then doubled the hourly rate and sent him on his way. The suit seeks $2 million plus punitive damages.

Linda Evangelista Settles Child-Support Case

Lawyers reached a settlement in the nasty child-support case between the supermodel and French billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault, who's now married to Salma Hayek. The terms of the surprise deal were not immediately known. Outside the courthouse Monday, Francois-Henri Pinault's lawyer, David Aronson told reporters, "Everybody's glad for the sake and the benefit of the child that it's done." A rep for Evangelista had no comment. After court Evangelista and Pinault, who had barely made eye contact during the trial, were seen talking to each other. The model, 46, had been seeking $46,000 in monthly child-support payments for her 5-year-old son Augie with former flame Pinault. The case in a Manhattan family courtroom had grown increasingly contentious, with a lawyer for Evangelista claiming that Pinault had "suggested she terminate the pregnancy." His attorney strongly denied that Pinault ever said that and a source criticized Evengelista's camp for making statements that could hurt the child. It was revealed last year that Pinault, who has been married since 2009 to Hayek, had fathered a child with Evangelista. The French businessman has two other children from a previous marriage, which ended in divorce in 2004, and a 4-year-old daughter, Valentina, with Hayek.
