Ashlee Simpson-Wentz Files for Divorce
The 2½-year marriage of Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz is over, Ashlee's rep confirmed. "After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce," the couple said through a spokesperson. "We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and well-being remains our No. 1 priority. We ask that everyone honor our privacy as we navigate this next phase of our lives." divorce documents were filed in L.A. Superior Court, with Simpson, 26, citing "irreconcilable differences" and seeking spousal support. In the court papers, which were signed by Simpson-Wentz on Monday and filed on Tuesday, it says the couple's date of separation is to be determined. Simpson-Wentz is seeking primary physical custody of their 2-year-old son, Bronx, with visitation for Wentz. She is also seeking to go back to her maiden name of Simpson and drop "Wentz." another one bites the dust. Image: Former Rep. Christopher Lee A married congressman from upstate New York resigned suddenly Wednesday after a scandal erupted over emails and a shirtless photo supposedly sent to a woman in response to a Craigslist dating ad. Republican Christopher Lee had just begun his second term representing New York's 26th District. Hours after the scandal broke Lee announced that he was quitting Congress, and a clerk read his letter of resignation on the House floor. The statement read:  "It has been a tremendous honor to serve the people of Western New York. I regret the harm that my actions have caused my family, my staff and my constituents. I deeply and sincerely apologize to them all. I have made profound mistakes and I promise to work as hard as I can to seek their forgiveness. "The challenges we face in Western New York and across the country are too serious for me to allow this distraction to continue, and so I am announcing that I have resigned my seat in Congress effective immediately." In his emails he said he was a 42 year old divorced lobbyist. His exit triggers a special election, which Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo must call. Lee was first elected in 2008 with 55 percent of the vote, and GOP presidential candidate John McCain won the district — New York's 26th — in 2008 with 52 percent. Lee was reelected in 2010 with 74 percent of the vote. seriously dude, i mean really?!?!

Spider-Man joins the Fantastic 4
With the Fantastic Four whittled to three after last month's death of the Human Torch, Marvel's longtime super group is changing names and adding a familiar face. Spider-Man, New York's web-slinging guardian, is joining the group newly renamed The Future Foundation. Starting in FF No. 1, he'll join with Mr. Fantastic, The Thing and the Invisible Woman in a bid to protect the Marvel universe from new threats, Marvel said Wednesday. The first issue is due out March 23. The Fantastic Four ended with issue No. 588 this month, after the Torch, aka Johnny Storm, died in issue 587. Like the former series, the new FF series is written by Jonathan Hickman and drawn by Steve Epting. i don't even know what to say about this, johnny storm was the hottest one... get it, hottest, lol. i'm funny, lol.

NFL team owners and Players' Association reps meet in Washington D.C. to further CBA talks

Representatives of the NFL's Players' Association and team owners met at an undisclosed location in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday to continue negotiations regarding a new collective bargaining agreement. The session started at 10 a.m. and lasted into the evening. It was the second time in five days that the two sides met, and both expected to meet again later in the week, a schedule that remains consistent with what the sides planned following a two-hour meeting while at the Super Bowl in Dallas last Saturday. Commissioner Roger Goodell considered the weekend talks "beneficial" and emphasized that he felt both sides needed to come together to negotiate so that no time is lost. "It's always a positive when both parties are talking said Goodell.  "My focus is on the next three or four weeks," Goodell said. "I've often said, our agreement expires on March 4. We have to use that period of time to reach an agreement that's fair for the players, fair for the clubs, and allows our great game to grow for our fans." Smith has said it expects owners to lock out players if a new agreement isn't reached by March 4 when the current deal, which was reached in 2008, expires. The owners' proposal of an 18-game regular season schedule, division of gross revenue and benefits given to retired are among the chief points being debated. they need to get it together so they can honor the tickets they promised to the 400 people who showed up to this superbowl and didn't have seats, lol.

Goodbye Guitar Hero
Goodbye my dear Guitar Hero. Creators of the video game, Activision Blizzard, have announced they are closing the door on the music game business and ending the lucrative "Guitar Hero" franchise. The game brought in over $1 billion dollars in 2007 with Guitar Hero III but their latest release, "Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock" only sold 86,000 copies. Besides lagging sales, Activision cited rising cost of music licensing fees as a reason for pulling the plug.

Nicki Minaj finally hits No. 1 on U.S. album chart

Nicki Minaj claimed the top spot on the U.S. pop album chart for the first time on Wednesday as her debut release jumped two places in its 11th week, and coincidentally passed the one million mark at the same time. The flamboyant R&B singer sold 45,000 copies of "Pink Friday" during the week ended February 6. The album debuted at No. 2 following its November 22 release, and has spent its entire chart life in the top 10; its tally rose to 1.035 million copies. Minaj's patient wait for her turn at No. 1 is a rare sight. For the most part, an album is No. 1 only because it debuted there. It's unusual for a set to climb to the top. Case in point: in 2010, there were 30 albums that hit No. 1, but just one -- Lil Wayne's "I Am Not A Human Being" -- actually rose to the top. Wayne debuted at No. 2 purely on download sales, tumbled to No. 16 the following week, and rose to No. 1 t he next once the CD version went on sale. Before "Friday's" ascent to the top, the last album to take longer to rise to No. 1 was in April 2005, 2005, when Ray Charles' "Genius Loves Company" finally hit the top in its 25th week bolstered by its Grammys success.

Lindsay Lohan pleads not guilty to theft charge
Lindsay Lohan pleaded not guilty to felony grand theft of a $2,500 necklace — a case that could return the troubled starlet to jail rather than the big screen. She entered the plea Wednesday through her attorney Shawn Chapman Holley. If convicted of the theft charge, Lohan could face up to three years in state prison. "Look around this room," Superior Court Judge Keith Schwartz told Lohan. "Everybody else has to follow the law. You're no different than anyone else. So please, don't push your luck." Schwartz set bail at $40,000. He said it appeared Lohan had violated her probation in a 2007 drunken driving case and warned that if she violated the law while free on bail he would have her arrested and held. Holley said Lohan was entering an early disposition program where she could work out a deal to keep the case from going to trial. She said Lohan has received good reports from her probation officer and has not failed any drug screens. Prosecutor Danette Meyers rejected the idea that Lohan has been well-behaved. "Well, a good probationer doesn't pick up a new case," Meyers said.  Lindsay has been remanded into custody. A hearing has been set for February 23, 2011 at 8:30am.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. It appeared that the driver of the van lost consciousness due to an unspecified medical decision while behind the wheel, according to Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Sgt. Michael Konecny. "Everyone at the network, the studio and NCIS is devastated by the news," read a joint statement from CBS Television Studios and CBS Entertainment. "Our hearts grieve for his family and friends for this tragic loss. We are, of course, cooperating with the local authorities in Santa Clarita to help determine what caused this terrible accident."

The actor, who is also hosting the Oscars with Anne Hathaway, will appear the soap on episodes airing Feb. 25 and Feb 28 (at 3 p.m. ET) to "wreak havoc" on the fictional town of Port Charles, according to a release from ABC, and to "make an important phone call to his nemesis Jason Morgan" (played by Steve Burton).

This could be good news for all of those out-of-work crew members who are on forced hiatus because of Charlie Sheen’s need to undergo rehab: the 45-year-old actor would be willing to cover one-third of the salaries if CBS and Warner Bros. TV would pay the rest. However, that no decision has been made at either media company about whether or not to help compensate the crew, which doesn’t get paid whenever Men goes dark.

Scottie Thompson (NCIS) will join the ABC pilot Partners, a new drama from Ed Bernero (Criminal Minds) that centers on two female police detectives who are fiercely loyal to one another since they’re also secretly sisters. Thompson will play one of the sisters named Mattie. (The network has yet to cast the other sibling). Thompson last appeared on TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles and Drop Dead Diva. She also played Jeanne Benoit for two years on NCIS.

Comedy Central has given an eight-episode order to Sports Show with Norm. The show will feature Norm making wisecracks about popular and obscure sports in front of a live studio audience. The show begins production this month with a planned premiere in April.
CMT announced Wednesday that Nigel Lythgoe and his son Simon, will launch a new music competition series to find CMT’s Next Superstar. The competitors will live together in Nashville, and the show will go behind-the-scenes to follow all the drama that can take place when musical adversaries live and compete together. Not only will the contestants be judged on singing but also on their song writing, radio interviews and music videos.

Despite their best lobbying efforts, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt will not be joining "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" anytime soon. Pratt told claimed that his reps were in talks with the Bravo reality series to discuss the duo joining the cast in its second season. While a rep for Bravo said they haven't made any announcements regarding the second season, Andy Cohen, the network's Executive Vice President of Original Programming wasted no time by twitting simply, "Hell, no".
