Jennifer Love Hewitt's Mother Dies
Jennifer Love Hewitt's biggest supporter has died. The actress's mom Patricia, 67, lost her battle with cancer on Tuesday, Hewitt's rep announced in a statement. "Her family mourns her loss," the rep says. "She was an angel to all who knew her and they are grateful she is now in a better place. They ask for privacy at this difficult time. No further details are being provided." Hewitt, 33, who kept her mom's illness private, appreciated her acceptance of the career decisions she made.'Goodfellas' inspiration Henry Hill dies at 69
Henry Hill, the mobster turned FBI informant who inspired the iconic gangster movie "Goodfellas", has died at the age of 69, according to his girlfriend. Hill's eventful life -- which included stints in jail and the witness protection program -- was immortalized in the book "Wiseguy" and famously portrayed by Ray Liotta in Martin Scorsese's Oscar-nominated movie. "He always said it was 99.9 percent accurate," his girlfriend Lisa Caserta said. Hill passed away at a Los Angeles hospital on Tuesday. Caserta said he had a heart attack last month and had suffered from bad circulation.Judge won't ease Mayweather jail stay
Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s request that he be released from jail because the low-quality food and water have threatened his health was denied by a Las Vegas judge who says he should eat and drink what is being given to him behind bars. Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa wrote in her late Wednesday decision that water has been made available to Mayweather around the clock and the only reason he isn't eating properly is because he refuses to eat the provided meals. Saragosa said Mayweather's complaints that he is unable to exercise in jail are also unfounded. ''While the physical training areas and times provided to (Mayweather) may not be consistent with his prior regimen, he is indeed provided sufficient space and time for physical activity if he so chooses,'' Saragosa wrote. A mere 10 days after Mayweather turned himself in to begin his three-month sentence, his legal team filed an emergency motion Monday asking the court to put him under house arrest or move him into the general jail population — something that jail officials had avoided to protect the celebrity fighter. The motion claimed the undefeated champion might never fight again because he was getting out of shape in solitary confinement.Oprah and 50 Cent settle their feud after six years
It's the end of an era: Oprah Winfrey and 50 Cent have settled their notorious beef. Sort of. O and Fiddy sat down to talk on an episode of "Oprah's Next Chapter," airing Sunday, June 10 on OWN, where they put their feud to rest. Oprah wasn't too pleased when 50 named his dog after her, but the rapper-turned-actor explains that he was responding to her negative interpretation of his music. "That was not a compliment," she says. "I heard you had a bitch named Oprah!" "At the time, I was just looking at the situation, and I saw I was developing negative feelings for someone who doesn't even know me...and I gave it to the dog," he explains. "I would see moments when you would discuss your feelings on the culture, and everything that was wrong with the culture was what was on my CD, and I was like, 'Oh, she doesn't like me.'" The pair cleared the air during the interview, but don't see eye-to-eye on everything. Winfrey still disagrees with the use of the n-word, while 50 justifies using it occasionally. "When you're actually using it with malice in your heart, you can feel the difference."When Matthew McConaughey surprised longtime love Camila Alves with a Christmas Day proposal last winter, he made sure to savor the moment. “It was the last gift to be opened and I wrapped it in seven different boxes so Camila would have to keep unwrapping,” McConaughey tells PEOPLE of the rose-cut Cathy Waterman engagement ring he’d buried inside. “She got the ring, I took a knee and asked her to marry me and take my name. After a bit, she conceded … thankfully.”
Feds drop 5 remaining counts against John Edwards
Former presidential candidate John Edwards’ legal troubles are over. Judge Catherine Eagles on Wednesday signed an order dismissing all five counts on which a jury had been unable to reach a verdict. The government had asked that the charges be dismissed, eliminating the threat that Edwards could face another trial. A jury on May 31 acquitted Edwards on one felony count of receiving illegal campaign contributions, but deadlocked on the remaining five counts he misused money from two wealthy donors to hide his pregnant mistress, Rielle Hunter, while he ran for president. Jurors acquitted Edwards on a charge of accepting illegal campaign contributions, involving $375,000 from elderly heiress Rachel "Bunny" Mellon in 2008. He had also been charged with illegally accepting $350,000 from Mellon in 2007, other donations from wealthy Texas attorney Fred Baron, filing a false campaign finance report and conspiracy. “The jurors could not reach a unanimous verdict on five of the six counts of the indictment, however, and we respect their judgment,” Assistant Attorney General Lanny A. Breuer of the Justice Department's Criminal Division said in a prepared statement. “ In the interest of justice, we have decided not to retry Mr. Edwards on those counts." In a statement, Edwards' lawyers said: "As we stated in our motions and arguments in court, the novel theory of campaign law violations charged by the Justice Department is not a crime. It should be addressed, if at all, by the Federal Election Commission, which our evidence showed seems to have agreed with our views on the law. While John has repeatedly admitted to his sins, he has also consistently asserted, as we demonstrated at the trial, that he did not violate any campaign law nor even imagined that any campaign laws could apply. We are confident that the outcome of any new trial would have been the same." Hunter earlier this month announced she's coming out with a tell-all book. The book, titled "What Really Happened," will hit stores June 26. In it, Hunter says the two are still in love.

Garnett scored 14 points in the 101-88 loss Saturday night that put the Heat in the NBA Finals.USADA charging Lance Armstrong
The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency has filed formal charges against the seven-time Tour de France winner, threatening to strip him of his victories in the storied cycling race. Armstrong, who forcefully denied the accusations, could face a lifetime ban from the sport if he is found to have used performance-enhancing drugs. The move by USADA immediately bans him from competing in triathlons, which he turned to after he retired from cycling last year. Armstrong has been dogged by doping allegations since his first Tour victory in 1999, but had hoped his fight to be viewed as a clean champion was finally won after U.S. federal prosecutors closed a two-year criminal probe in February without bringing any charges. Armstrong has said the investigation took a heavy emotional toll and he was relieved when it ended. But USADA officials insisted they would continue to pursue their own probe into Armstrong and his former teams and doctors, and notified him of the charges in a 15-page letter on Tuesday. Unlike federal prosecutors, USADA isn't burdened by proving a crime occurred, just that there was use of performance-enhancing drugs. In its letter, USADA said its investigation included evidence dating back to 1996. It also included the new charge that Armstrong blood samples taken in 2009 and 2010 are ''fully consistent with blood manipulation including EPO use and/or blood transfusions.'' Armstrong came out of his first retirement to race in the Tour de France those two years. Armstrong, who was in France while training for a triathlon, issued a statement dismissing the latest allegations ''baseless'' and ''motivated by spite.'' Even though he last won the Tour seven years ago, the 40-year-old Armstrong remains a popular if polarizing figure, partly because of his charity work for cancer patients. USADA's letter also said the agency was bringing doping charges against Johan Bruyneel, manager of Armstrong's winning teams; team doctors Pedro Celaya and Luis Garcia del Moral; team trainer Pepe Marti, and consulting doctor Michele Ferrari. Armstrong has until June 29 to file a written response to the charges. The case could ultimately go before an arbitration panel to consider evidence. The USADA letter said in that case a hearing should be expected by November. Armstrong, maintained his innocence, saying in his statement: ''I have never doped, and, unlike many of my accusers, I have competed as an endurance athlete for 25 years with no spike in performance, passed more than 500 drug tests and never failed oneCourteney Cox Files for Divorce
Courteney Cox and David Arquette's divorce appears to be as amicable as can be. The actress filed divorce papers on the same day as Arquette's June 8 filing in Los Angeles Superior Court. Cox's filing, which surfaced the day after her ex's papers, cites the same reason for the split and requests the same custody arrangement. Like Arquette, Cox, 47, cites irreconcilable differences and seeks joint legal and physical custody of their 8-year-old daughter Coco. Cox, who also requests to drop "Arquette" from her last name, is representing herself without lawyer, just like her former significant other.TV NEWS

Dwight Howard can finally relax because his baby mama Royce Reed just got axed from Basketball Wives along with two other stars on the show. Jennifer Williams and Kesha Nichols also got the chop -- and will be replaced next season. It's unclear who's in line to take their spots. Royce was cut because she wasn't legally allowed to talk about Dwight due to a 2009 gag order, blocking her from discussing her ex in any way. The other girls on the show had also decided to ostracize her, so Royce couldn't shoot scenes with the rest of the cast.
