Andy Rooney hospitalized in serious condition
Andy Rooney, who delivered his last essay on "60 Minutes" three weeks ago, was in the hospital Tuesday after developing serious complications following minor surgery. CBS said the 92-year-old writer's condition was stable and, at the request of his family, offered no other information about his medical problems or where he was hospitalized. The three-time Emmy-winner was a regular presence on television's most popular newsmagazine. Since 1978, "A Few Minutes with Andy Rooney" wrapped up the Sunday night program, often with a look at the absurdities of life and language. On Oct. 2, he delivered his 1,097th and final essay, saying it was a moment he dreaded. "I wish I could do this forever. I can't, though," he said.

Tony Romo: 'My Wife Is Pregnant'

Jessica Simpson may be keeping mum about what may or may not be impending mommyhood, but her ex, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, is playing it more direct. During a visit to Cedar Hill High School near Dallas, a student asked if he has any children. "Um, no, I don't have any kids," Romo replied, following up with, "I've actually got one on the way. My wife's pregnant." As the students clapped, Romo, 31, smiled, raised his fist and said, "It'll be fun." Romo and his wife, Candice Crawford, 24, were married on May 28. The Cowboys star dated Simpson from 2007 to 2009 and football fans at times wondered if their relationship had anything to do with the Cowboys' shortcomings.

He tells ESPN ''I definitely feel there are some teams out there that are interested.'' Agent Drew Rosenhaus says on Twitter that he will be contacting teams Tuesday to tell them Owens ''is immediately available to visit and work out for them. He could play this Sunday!'' Owens has been rehabilitating a left knee injury that required surgery. He played 14 games for Cincinnati last year, making 72 receptions with nine touchdowns.

TV NEWS
Two of "Saturday Night Live's" most iconic female cast members are set to reunite on NBC's freshman sitcom "Up All Night." Molly Shannon has booked a guest role alongside her fellow "SNL"-er Maya Rudolph on the Wednesday night comedy as an "incompetent associate producer" on the Rudolph-hosted show-within-a-show.

Good news for two of CBS' new dramas: the network has ordered full seasons of both "Unforgettable" and "Person of Interest."

Lifetime has ordered a drama pilot from executive producer Antonio Banderas, titled American Housewife. In fact — no surprise, really — the big screen actor’s real-life Mrs., Melanie Griffith, is in talks to star in the project. American Housewise, centers on a mom who has actual conversations with her inner monologue. Griffith’s most recent small-screen forays include a 2010 episode of Nip/Tuck and, yes, Viva Laughlin.

Because there aren't enough hot guys on "The Secret Circle" already, yet another looker is hitting Chance Harbor. We hope the coven is ready for Grey Damon. Yes, that's his real name. Damon, who previously starred on "Friday Night Lights" and "The Nine Lives of Chloe King," will first be seen in episode 10 as Lee Labeque.

Bruce Davison (X-Men) and Thomas Lennon (Reno 911!) will play father and son, respectively, on an episode of ABC’s midseason comedy Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23.

MTV will release an upcoming special "True Life: I'm Occupying Wall Street." This is the first of what is bound to be many different ways media and entertainment giants like Viacom (parent company of MTV) are looking to capitalize on the Occupy Wall Street movement. The show will follow three different protestors and show what goes on in their daily life.

A&E has renewed prison docu-series Beyond Scared Straight for a 13-episode Season 3.

Oxygen has given the green light to a pair of new reality series: The Eva Marcille Project will chronicle the life of the America’s Next Top Model Cycle 3 winner, while LA Style follows four fashion stylists (including former Rachel Zoe Project star Taylor Jacobson).

MTV’s anti-Jersey Shore is no more. The network has pulled the plug on its inspirational reality effort The Buried Life after two modestly rated seasons.
