Rick Springfield Arrested for DUI
Singer, Rick Springfield was arrested for DUI. The '80s rocker was pulled over in Los Angeles around 8:00pm last night ... and when officers approached his vehicle, they smelled alcohol. Law enforcement sources say Rick's blood alcohol content was .10 -- higher than the legal limit in CA. Springfield was taken to a nearby jail where he was booked and released on his own recognizance.
Flava Flav Arrested
Flavor Flav was pulled over for a routine traffic violation in Las Vegas on Friday and ended up in jail. The officer quickly discovered that the rapper/reality star that there were four warrants out for his arrest stemming from prior traffic infractions. According to law enforcement, Flav never settled up with the court in 4 separate automobile-related matters -- including driving without proof of insurance, a parking violation and two cases of driving without a license. Flav was taken to a local jail where he settled up and was released a short time later.
Charlie Sheen Tours Alabama
Actor, Charlie Sheen, toured an Alabama neighborhood leveled by tornadoes and said Monday he wants to organize a relief event for victims in the state. "I want some money, hope, faith and healing to the area," said Sheen. Sheen said he decided to visit after receiving an invitation via Twitter from a University of Alabama student. Sheen also stopped by an area Kmart to buy flashlights for some of the thousands still without electricity. He paid the $324.07 tab with his own Visa card, and then brought them to a relief center amid loud cheers and applause. Sheen posted a photo Monday on Twitter showing the wreckage of a home with a message: "I'm in Tuscaloosa. It's beyond words. Info coming soon on how you can all help."
Rachel Weisz to Play Evil Witch in Disney's 'Oz'
Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz is in negotiations to play the villainess in Oz: The Great and Powerful, Disney’s prequel-ish take on The Wizard of Oz tale that stars James Franco and Mila Kunis and is being directed by Sam Raimi. The movie stars Franco as Oz, a snake oil salesman who finds himself dealing with real magic when his balloon carries him into a fabled land and he runs into genuine witches. Weisz would play Evanora, a powerful, evil witch who intends to rule the land. She is the sister of Theadora (Kunis) and tries to seduce her to the dark side.

Former "Survivor" champion Richard Hatch, is back in jail and is now officially known as inmate #05559-070. He's serving a 9 month prison sentence for not paying taxes on the prize money he won on the very first season of "Survivor". Hatch -- who was recently fired on this season's "Celebrity Apprentice" -- made a public plea to raise enough cash to pay off his debt, but his words fell on deaf ears.
Lifetime has renewed Army Wives for a 13-episode sixth season. Additionally, the cabler has greenlit Modern Love, a pilot based on the titular New York Times column. The Big C executive producer Jenny Bicks will claim showrunning duties on the new series.
The Pacific-10 has reached a deal to license most of its big football and basketball games to Fox and ESPN, and agreement that will net the conference approximately $3 billion over 12 years. The Pac-10's move to launch its own network mimics the Big Ten Conference's 2007 decision to launch its own network -- a decision that led to a 10-year, $1 billion deal with ESPN. However, unlike the Big Ten, Pac-10 will retain complete ownership of its network. (The Big Ten's network, by contrast, is 49-percent owned by Fox Cable Networks.) Beginning on July 1, the Pac-10 will be expanding the number of teams in the conference as well as its wallet, with Colorado and Utah coming on board to make the conference the Pac-12.
Former "Bachelor" and host of the syndicated medical talk show "The Doctors" Dr. Travis Stork is off the market. Stork proposed to his girlfriend Dr. Charlotte Brown (a pediatrician) while on a recent Hawaiian vacation. Stork currently travels back and forth between working at the Vanderbilt hospital in Nashville, TN and taping "The Doctors" several days a week. He says that he has nothing but good memories from his time on "The Bachelor" and made friends. He also saw Sarah Stone, recently. She's the women he "chose" on the show and says she's happily married.
ABC has ordered six episodes of Celebrity Wife Swap. Featuring celebrities trading their often lavish lifestyles for a week, the series hails from Zodiak USA, which also is behind the network's Wife Swap as well as Secret Millionaire and Syfy's scripted BBC remake Being Human. Wife Swap, based on the British format, has been airing in syndication on Lifetime and last aired original episodes on ABC in late 2010.
Fox’s annual Teen Choice Awards is set to air Sunday, August 7 at 8/7c.
Mummified body may belong to actress, Playboy Playmate Yvette Vickers
A mummified body believed to be the remains of model-turned-actress Yvette Vickers has been found in her Los Angeles home. Police suggest the victim may have died a year ago. The body was discovered by a neighbor last week, who grew suspicious after discovering old letters and cobwebs in Vickers' mailbox. The neighbor says she found the body in an upstairs room of Vickers' dilapidated Benedict Canyon home. Vickers' film credits include 1958's "Attack of the 50 Foot Woman" and 1959's "Attack of the Giant Leeches." Her last feature role was in a 1990 horror called "Evil Spirits." Reports on her age vary between 74 and 82.

Sammy Hagar: Aerosmith wanted me to replace Steven Tyler
Former Van Halen singer Sammy Hagar says he was offered the chance to replace Steven Tyler as the frontman of Aerosmith but that he turned down the opportunity because it would have been a difficult transition. Hagar says he has been approached over the years to join a string of top bands. "I was asked at one time to be in Motley Crue," he says. "I was asked at one time to be in Pantera by their managers. I was asked to be in Velvet Revolver when Scott Weiland quit." Hagar says he was considered as a possible replacement for Tyler when Tyler fell out with his Aerosmith bandmates in late 2009. "I was asked to be in Aerosmith, and I said no," he says. "Certain bands and certain frontman singers are more difficult to replace than others. Steven Tyler and that band have stayed together for 40 years, and you don't want to walk into something like that."
'Hurt Locker' team going forward with film on bin Laden hunt
The filmmakers behind the war-on-terror drama "The Hurt Locker" are moving forward with an action thriller about the hunt for Osama bin Laden. Director Kathryn Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal have had the bin Laden project in the works, and now that the al-Qaida leader has been killed, a person close to the filmmakers said Monday that the film is more relevant than ever. The as-yet-untitled film will center on the special operations forces in pursuit of bin Laden, said the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to talk about the project's status. U.S. forces have hunted bin Laden since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks nearly 10 years ago. A team of Navy SEALs shot and killed bin Laden early Monday at a compound in Pakistan.TV NEWS
