4 shot after George Clinton show in Ohio; 1 dies
A man fired several shots from a handgun during a large fight near an outdoor concert venue featuring funk music artist George Clinton, killing one person and wounding three others, police said. The fight erupted before 10 p.m. Saturday at an intersection near Luke Easter Park, the venue for the eighth annual Unity in the Park festival. Police didn't have a description of the shooter, and no arrests had been made. It was unclear how long after Clinton or the other musicians performed that the shooting erupted or what prompted it. Police said they didn't know if those involved in the fight were among concertgoers leaving the area. "These were younger people, so we're not sure," police Sgt. Sammy Morris said. "George Clinton is an older (artist). We're not going to speculate." A 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the head died of his injuries early Sunday, Morris said. He didn't know the conditions of the other three who were wounded: a 20-year-old woman shot in the neck, and a 14-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man each hospitalized with leg wounds. The Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper reported earlier that the two most seriously wounded were in critical condition and the other two were stable. The newspaper said thousands of people had gathered for the festival, which featured George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic as the headline act.

Fantasia Announces Her Pregnancy on Stage
She's battled depression and a rocky love life, but Fantasia Barrino has reason to rejoice – she's expecting a child. The former American Idol winner, 27, made the big announcement during a charity concert Sunday in Jacksonville, Fla. "You are the first [people] that I share this news with," she told the audience gathered at the opening of the Riverview Apartments complex. "And I share this with you because I can relate to you. And for a while, I walked around figuring out what they will say and what will they think about me. But now I tell you, I don't live my life for folk." Revealing her joyous news, she added: "So, this child that I carry – God has given me this child. And I don't have to hide it from none of y'all." Barrino – already mother to a daughter Zion, 9 – made no mention of the impending baby's father. The singer has most recently been romantically linked to Antwaun Cook. Their relationship made headlines last summer after his divorce from Paula Cook was linked to his affair with Barrino. She previously said that the negative attention she received for the relationship was one of the reasons she was driven to attempt suicide in August 2010.
Joe Pesci suing makers of John Gotti biopic for $3 million
Actor Joe Pesci is suing Fiore Films, the production company behind the John Gotti biopic Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father, for $3 million, reports the Associated Press. The suit alleges that the company used Pesci’s name to drum up interest in the project, only to rescind an offer for Pesci to play Gotti enforcer and childhood friend Angelo Ruggiero. The 68-year-old actor (pictured here at a May 2010 event) also claims he gained 30 pounds for the role.
John Travolta is attached to play the title role of the notorious New York mobster in the film, which is set to start production in January with director Barry Levinson. Other confirmed stars include Al Pacino, Lindsay Lohan, and Kelly Preston. Levinson and James Toback (who penned Levinson’s 1991 gangster film Bugsy) are writing the screenplay. Mike Fiore, CEO of Fiore Films, claimed it was Pesci who had pulled out of the project, when the original director, Nick Cassavetes, left the film in April.
Ex-NBA player eats evidence
Former NBA player Samaki Walker tried to eat marijuana during a traffic stop in Kingman, Arizona. Walker, who retired after the 2005-06 NBA season, swallowed the pot as a Department of Public Safety officer walked toward his 2002 Mercedes-Benz, Arizona officials allege. Arizona authorities also allege they seized about 10 grams of marijuana, some prescription drugs and eight bottles of liquid steroids from the vehicle. Walker, who played for six teams in 10 NBA seasons, allegedly indicated to the officer that he uses steroids because he plays professional basketball in Syria. Though steroids are legal in Syria, according to Walker, possession is a misdemeanor in Arizona, police said.Walker, who played with the Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Washington Wizards and Indiana Pacers, was booked on drug charges. Bond was reportedly set at $2,000 along with an Aug. 5 preliminary hearing.

It’s a beautiful day … in Daniel Tiger’s neighborhood? A decade after children’s classic Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood ceased production, PBS has just announced an animated spin-off to the series hosted by a familiar personality from the original show. Titled Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, the series will have original Mister Rogers characters grown up and with children of their own living in the Neighborhood of Make Believe. Four-year-old Tiger (son of the original Tiger) will be the star. The “next generation” concept intends to use the musical education strategies pioneered by Fred Rogers’ landmark original program, which was in production from 1968 to 2001 and continued airing on PBS until about three years ago.
